Location is great and near convenient shops. A good place to use as base for seeing Malta if you have a hire car! The pool is amazing and the villa is charming and full of character. Lino, the host, is super friendly and helpful too!
Some of the bedrooms were a bit musty (though that's to be expected from a 400 year old property!), the toilet flushes were not as strong as they could have been and although there was stuff to cook with in the kitchen, they were quite old and in need of replacement. The main fridge also was barely cold which was not ideal for storing milk.

It was very authentic, loved having the private pool & the host was very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble

Villa is lovely, so well decorated, is clean and spacious. The pool is a great size with lots of space for sun bathing. The inner courtyard is very tranquil. Whole family loved it.
Not anything to dislike. Zurrieq is a little out of the way if you are looking for lots of restaurants and night life, but even then, Bolts are great value and so quick and easy to use, you can get wherever you want to go and back in comfort

The Mill Room is awesome and very grand, old and packed with so much character and lots of personal touches. It is perfect for very special celebration days. There is also a fully equipped modern kitchen with everything that you could need. Around the house there are so many interesting eclectic art pieces from all over the world. The pool and outdoor space is magnificent with a great sense of calm and wellness. Lino, the owner made us very welcome and gave us great advice on local shops, restaurants etc. and he was always available if needed. All in all highly recommend.
all good no probs..

Villa Buddha is beautiful and full of character. It’s very spacious and has so many different areas that are perfect for relaxing and entertaining. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all a good size and there are some beautiful pieces of artwork by Lino the owner. The Villa is located in a small town with a supermarket and a restaurant close by with lots of bus links. Lino was a helpful host he lives next door.
Unfortunately we had a few issues with the Villa which took the shine off our stay. When we arrived the Villa was full of flies as the doors had obviously been left open during the cleaning process.. i wouldn’t have mentioned this had it been just a few but the Villa was full of them so our first port of call was to the shop to buy fly spray which sorted the problem in no time! Just a shame that this was something that had not been sorted by the owner prior to us arriving as it would have only taken €3 for a can of spray and 5 mins but instead that took the shine off our first impression. Another note was pool net was broken when we arrived and while the pool was pristine on the first day, by the next morning it was alive with bugs and we had no means to clean the pool. We flagged this up with Lino the owner who was helpful but unfortunately it took a couple of days for him to get a new net due to it being a bank holiday in Malta. I understand this maybe couldn’t be helped but it was just a shame that one day we didn’t use pool or let kids in as there were so many wasps/ bugs inside. A general thing we agreed as a party of 6 adults and 3 children was that the Villa needed a few more glasses and the kitchen needs a bit of a clean. We used the oven to cook pizzas for the kids and it made the whole Villa smell of grease. There was only one glass wine glass and a couple of plastic which were a bit grubby so we didn’t really fancy drinking from them and ended up using tumblers for wine. The master bedroom is beautiful but just be warned you will be up with the sun as it’s very bright and there are no blackouts.- I really don’t want this review to seem completely negative as the Villa’s character is stunning but it’s the finer details that you notice that seem to be a bit lacking while bearing in mind we spent several thousands of pounds for a week long stay.

The villa is stunning with everything that you need. Full of character. The villa is so big that with 10 people we were not on top of each other. Lovely pool area. The host was lovely and very helpful.
Although we couldn't fault the host we didn't like the fact he lived above the villa and overlooks the pool area and could just walk in anytime which often happened.

Felt like a home from home. It’s a beautiful property, full of character and a lot of thought has been given to the decoration and also to make sure it’s well equipped with everything you need.
It’s a big property and we didn’t even use all of it including one of the large reception rooms. The pool area is lovely, big enough for the kids to play in and still a tranquil spot in the evening for a few drinks.
Lino the host was really helpful and clearly loves the property and wanted to make sure we had a great stay
Nothing it was all lovely.

We were at Villa Buddha for 7 nights and 8 days. Lino was a great host and made himself available for our questions. Really great pre-communication with arranging rental cars and airport pick up / drop off.
The pool area was beautiful and that's where we spent most of our time. We were with kids as well, and they spent the majority of their time in this pool. Good place to stay for larger groups and families. Nice bbq, but note it is coal and not propane, so you do have to purchase the coals and fire starters for the bbq each night.
The living room was magnificent and absolutely stunning - unfortunately, we were there in mid-August, so we didn't spend much time in this space, opting instead to eat outside on the patio each night.
There isn't much happening in Zurrieq, there is a convenience store around the corner from the house... didn't see any restaurants, but a lot of snack shops (burgers and pizza's to go) which we took advantage of. The house is a 5 minute drive to Blue Grotto and the temples, which we visited - so for these attractions it was nice. In general, Malta is a fairly small island, at most it took as an hour to get to the other side of the island.
While the house is stunning, and Lino has put some love into this house, it is important to remember that it is a 300+ year old house, and with that comes some challenges. The water system in the house did suffer from low pressure - this meant that flushing the toilets could be challenging, and it also resulted in some funky smells.... and with 9 people showering sometimes the hot water supply would be depleted pretty quickly. So some of us had to take cold showers.
There seemed to be some hidden costs... for instance, we were surprised that we had to pay extra for air-conditioning, but upon looking at our reservation, it was highlighted that it would be extra. So that was our fault. The other piece we were surprised we had to pay extra for was cleaning costs - assumed that this would included in the overall price of the house. Again, it was listed as extra as part of the reservation. In total, with cleaning and air-conditioning costs, we had to pay over 200EUR extra. So just be aware of these additional costs when booking.
One last thing, one of the bedrooms has a lot of crucifixes... people in our group were a bit creeped out by this room, and none of the kids wanted to sleep in the room... so no one slept in it. We opted instead to drag the mattress off the bed, and pull it into one of the other bedrooms. Please note, that this was purely our feeling, but suspect that most kids would not want to sleep in this room.
