Fantastic apartment in a great spot in a great little town

Everything great accommodation in a great position with every thing you could possibly need for a stay. Bed was very comfortable and the Egyptian cotton sheets were fantastic and kept you cool. Easy contact with the owner and nothing was too much trouble. Will be back as soon as we are able.

Like Staying at a Friend’s House

Finally, an apartment that is actually used by the homeowner! Casa Marques, the hosts’ vacation home, has all of the amenities you would expect to find in someone’s home. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a full meal - cooking oil, spices, loads of pots and pans, cooking utensils, multiple cutting boards, a complete set of (sharp) knives, serving dishes, storage containers, oven, toaster, microwave, espresso machine and more! Everything is clean and in like-new condition. The bathroom is well stocked with toiletries - toilet paper, extra tooth brushes, cotton swabs, etc. The bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed and blackout curtains for the window/slider. The living/dining room has ample, comfortable seating and a large television for those nights when you want to relax at home. Both the living room and bedroom have air conditioning. Our favorite place however was the balcony. We ate all of our meals out there. The apartment complex has a pool which we used several times during our stay. The water was freezing! It’s a 10 minute walk to a large grocery store, the train station, marina and restaurants. Jose, our host, was very communicative. He responded to messages almost immediately. We enjoyed meeting Sandra, our local contact person. She gave us our keys and showed us around the apartment and garage area. We were delighted to find a goodie bag of snacks, a bottle of wine and a beach bag! I highly recommend Casa Marques, especially if you are full time travelers (like we are) and are looking for an apartment that feels, and functions, like a real home. I can’t imagine visiting Lagos and staying anywhere else.

The location is a bit far from Old Town. It’s certainly within walking distance, but it’s not a trip we wanted to make more than once a day. If we spent the day in Old Town, then we ate dinner at home or at a restaurant in the marina. Not a deterrent to staying here.

We had a fabulous sunny, time in a very comfortable, attractive apartment.

Use of two bikes. We cycled to Meia Pria. Lagos is a lovely town, beaches, water sports cobbled streets, restaurants, bars, marina. Something for everyone. We were particularly struck by how clean the town was.

Coffee machine was a bit to complicated for us!! A simple cafetiere would have suited us better.

A great apartment and a superb host

The apartment was clean and spacious and the kitchen appliances were very modern. The huge balcony seems to have the sun on it almost all of the day. Jose was in regular contact with us through WhatsApp both before and during the holiday and gave us some useful assistance including putting us in touch with a fabulous taxi driver, Vitor.

There was nothing we didn't like. It might have been slightly better if access to the pool wasn't around the corner across the road but I'm being fussy. It wasn't a problem - just remember to take your book, water bottle, suncream, hat and towel down first time :-)

Just perfect!

This is a great apartment! Perfect location, very well stocked just in case you forget something (toothbrush, toiletries, more..), lovely terrace, pool,bed, bedding, literally a perfect place to base ourselves. The icing on the cake were the two bikes for use which meant we could cycle to the beach or town both 5 mins away. We had a few questions on the first day & Jose was extremely quick to respond with help. Also Sandra was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. Thank you both!

An absolute gem

Great location - a short walk to the marina and a pleasant stroll into Lagos yet quiet and chilled. The best equipped apartment I’ve ever stayed in, with great storage space and a very comfy bed. The terrace is large with great views over the marina and the town, with a built in BBQ, sun loungers and dining table. Immaculately clean. Within a 10 minute walk of a good supermarket and a good choice of restaurants for all budgets close by. The pool area is really well maintained with decent sun loungers and a lovely pool. There’s a storage facility in the basement with everything you could want for the beach or pool and the use of mountain bikes is a bonus - especially good for cycling to Meia Praia beach. I absolutely loved Casa Marques and didn’t want to leave. Communication with Jose and Sandra was excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay in José's flat

The flat is exactly as appears in photos: nicely furnished, clean, fully equipped and with a beautiful terrace. We did not meet our host José, but he was always available to be contacted for any information.
