Breakfast was very good, wide choice, and gluten-free bread was available as requested. Location was convenient for local pubs, and handy for Ashbourne, just a few miles down the road. There was a nice garden, with lots of flowers in a small area.
The stairs go up in a corkscrew fashion, and need to be negotiated with care!

Our rooms were very comfortable with everything needed and extra touches too. The landlady was very friendly and accommodating, providing to us a lift to and from the local pub. The breakfast was absolutely delicious with everything anyone could want. We would not hesitate in going back again.
Nothing at all

Nothing to like - cramped bedroom and tiny bathroom that didn’t resemble any of the photos on your site.
Shower thermostat was broken so was boiling hot. Couldn’t have a shower which was perhaps for the best as it wasn’t clean. We were going out for dinner so wanted to freshen up so had to wash hair in the tiny sink. Checked out of the lilac's that night didn’t stay.

Lovely breakfast and lovely the owner advised us to pre book a taxi

The location of the Lilacs was just right to give access to the Peak District and the popular towns in the vicinity.
The room was very pleasant and the bathroom was very roomy.
The breakfasts were excellent and gave you a good start for the day.
Car parking at the Lilacs was good, albeit you had to take care getting out out onto the main road.
Local eateries were so handy you didn't need to go into the nearest town (Ashbourne) to find good food, although there were probably good restaurants/pubs to frequent if you so wish.
The staircase was a little hazardous but once you got use to it, it was fine.
Some general maintenance wouldn't come amiss, for instance a number of light fittings were not working.

Bedroom and bathroom were very clean. It was great to be able to have a bath as well as a shower. Tina is lovely, and welcoming and cooked breakfast was excellent.
I found the stairs difficult particularly if carrying luggage. A hand rail would be a good addition.

Everything was brilliant 👏

The facilities were amazing. The host was amazing. I stayed in the front facing room. The shower was super powerful. it’s just outside of the main centre of Ashbourne, so you don’t have any noise at night time. The host makes you feel right at home and her breakfast is amazing!
nothing it was perfect!

The Lilacs feels like a family home, but with the comforts of a hotel, if you like to feel as if your being welcomed into someone’s home this is for you.
the only slight downside was I arrived after dark and it was a little hard to spot, but the owner was great and guided me in.

A wonderful B&B with a lovely room. The lady who owns it is kind, helpful and attentive, and cooks a fabulous full English breakfast! The breakfast room was well stocked and had a comfortable, homely feel. Thank you very much for your hospitality, and for the sandwiches you made us when we checked in late last night! We'd definitely stay again.
