Once inside it was comfortable and cosy with the basic necessities catered for. Very clean and a really good shower.
Lack of parking and the overgrown frontage/ communal path to the property.
It’s being attached to a boarded up property.

Was homey and had everything you needed for a short stay.
It had an unlived in smell that a house gets when it’s not used regularly.

The cottage was very clean and cosy. Penny made sure we were looked after. There was milk in the fridge, coffee, and tea. Fresh towels in each room. And chocolates, a very nice touch. Also, there is lots of information about the cottage and the area. She left us her contact details in case of an emergency .
If Penny could only have made the sun shine, it would have been perfect!
4.1
Very clean, comfortable accommodation, great communication from the owner and everything was to a very high standard.

Close to Alton Towers.
Although the property itself was OK, there were major problems with the neighbours (as had been mentioned in other reviews of the property).
We arrived to find smashed eggs and empty beer cans on the ground by the entrance of the property and the water had been switched off.
The water problems were temporarily resolved but we had no water again later during our stay.
Shortly after our arrival, there was a domestic incident outside
An elderly lady was frantically shouting that somebody had apparently locked themselves in a toilet. There was a lot of yelling and foul language which I didn't appreciate our 10 year old daughter being exposed to.
The police arrived soon afterwards and my 10 year old daughter was quite scared. This was followed by a fire at the neighbours property.
We didn't feel at all safe and tried to find alternative accommodation but couldn't find anything at short notice so had no choice but to stay and hope for the best.
Throughout our stay the neighbours walked into the courtyard several times so we felt that this was out of bounds.
On our first night we couldn't get to sleep due to loud heavy metal music being played until 11pm. We were awoken again at 4am with screaming and yelling. At 6am the neighbours started banging on our wall - it sounded like a deliberate attempt to antagonise us.
The owner was aware of the problematic neighbours and offered to go around and speak to them if required. We didn’t think this was an appropriate course of action as it would only antagonise them further.
The second night was less eventful but we were awoken to discover further problems with the water supply.
We discussed the problems we had with the owner and she offered us a partial refund (although we haven’t received this yet). She told us that the neighbours were moving out shortly and was taking the property off the market until this had occurred.

upstairs was nice it was clean
the neighbours noisey up all night banging about shouting .water running from next door which has created almost a river right outside the back door had to jump over it to get outside .our dog had to have its feet wiped every time she went out .kitchen not very clean work being done on it by the look.banister loose and stairs need a lick of paint stair carpet dirty .could have coped with the above but didn’t feel safe with neighbours at all music playing and lots of shouting all hours

Clean and tidy cottage, everything we could need for a weekend at Alton Towers, host was very pleasant.
2 nights of arguing and shouting neighbours, we didn’t contact the host in fear of adding to an already anxious and heated atmosphere. The lack of parking is also not ideal having to park away from the property.

Lovely little house. Clean and comfortable (double bed is soft if that makes a difference to you, I slept well in it). Great shower. Penny left biscuits and sweets which were much appreciated and enjoyed. Great communication from Penny. We didn't make use of much in the kitchen, just kettle and toaster, so can't comment on facilities but looked like you would have everything needed to cook. I'd happily stay again. Was perfect for us to visit Alton Towers.
Nothing not to like with the house or host.

Cosy and cute

The Wi Fi worked efficiently.
The countryside around Cheadle is very good for walking.
The water in the bathroom was hot.
We stayed for two days in December, arriving at half past five on our first day but the cottage was cold and the heating thermostat read 12 degrees. It took a few hours for the cottage to warm up.
There were several maintenance issues that we thought needed attention - for instance the loose plastic strip between the living room floor and the kitchen floor.
The cottage we thought could have done with a good clean.

It was so homely. Everywhere was clean. There was coffee and milk there for when we arrived and the heating had been put on. Penny was very easy to contact if we needed help with anything. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was also fine, towels provided.
The only negative comment for us being older, was the stairs were very steep and narrow. Being an old cottage, this was to be expected.

Lovely house. Very quaint and Penny's instructions were clear.

close to Alton Towers. Clean and Welcoming. Communication with host very good and a welcome pack available with instructions on how to use appliances as well as numbers for takeaways etc. Cottage clean and bed very comfortable.
Parking outside impossible. ended up parking car down the road next to a local company. Parking on road is possible but the lane isnt that wide so risk damage if car is big. Cottage could do with update in kitchen and stairs are steep. Could do with a gate at top of stairs to prevent falling down if popping to loo in the night. we left the light on just in case as stairs very close to rooms.

it was like a home from home , the double bed was so comfy . The bedding was fresh and clean .
you can hear the neighbours at night (think this comes as part of being a terraced property)

The size, kitchen, bath.
No telly in main bedroom, loud sqeeky front door.

Really cosy wee place, location was nice and quiet but very convenient for Cheadle Town center which had some nice places to eat.
There was a big puddle in the back garden coming from what appeared to be a leak in the neighbour's garden that we had to jump over to get in and out, but it seems like a temporary issue.

4.1
Tidy, convenient for Alton Towers and walking distance to a pub and Cheadle. Cosy property.
Doesn’t have its own car parking space, but there was always parking on the road, very close to the house.

location was good for Alton Towers as only 15mins away. Comfortable beds and host very good as left us milk in the fridge and some biscuits, tea and coffee and clean towels.
unfortunately a lot of spiders, and my teenage daughter and I hate spiders! place could do with a good dusting. might have been hot weather that’s brought them in. neighbours next door at the end are noisy, can hear everything through the walls. we had windows open at night due to heat outside and the neighbours were in and out every hour till 4am and walking over noisy stone chips, so didn’t get much sleep. Their back garden is a tip and their front door glass is covered up as if it’s smashed. So didn’t feel comfortable using the courtyard out the back.

location to alton towers and the character and quaintness of it
arguing neighbours but it wasn’t too bad

Pretty tiles in bathroom. Good towels.
Tired furniture, crockery sticky and needed a wash pre use. Mouldy pillowcase. Knobs falling off kitchen drawer. Shower light that doubled as a strobe light really. Just little things. But they made a real impact.
