We really liked the location. It is the second year we have come back to the same place. And would love to come back next year as well. The accommodation is nice and clean, warm. You can have your own space there and explore around or you can meet others in bar. Halloween season there is fantastic.
Could be more information when there are activities for kids.last year they informed us. And this year we missed it.

the views were nice .
that there was no mention of a railway line at the bottom of the park which ran about every 15 minutes during the night keeping us awake . and when we complained there was not much help given and out of a six day stay we left after 1 day

There were a number of things we didn’t like about the property:
The caravan was very unclean, stains on the floor/furniture.
Bugs in the beds, dog hairs in curtains,on the floor and on the cooker.
A large number of dead flies lying on the floor under radiators.
Pans, cutlery, utensils all dirty had to be washed before use.
Broken DVD player and toaster.
Broken shower hose and toilet seat.
Heating/hot water not working due to a boiler leak.
Extremely noisy due to constant trains.
Extremely dated and under maintained caravan absolutely nothing like what was advertised.
4.1
Comfy accommodation. Close to various places we wanted to go.

Walking along the lake was nice
Noisy train at night, disturbed our sleep, nothing for kids to do

Nice location but it was raining quite a lot.
Everything look very clean and nice but ... see later
...Then I found some stains on the top of the head bed and dust beneath the bed.
It was very confussing to know what was incluided on the price and what wasn't. The day before we went there I got this phone call asking me if we wanted to have the pillow renting from them, I declined the offer and I found the pillows on the beds...

Couldn't fault the caravan I stayed in. Wasn't a speck of dust in sight, all facilities were in good, working order. There was a lovely welcome pot, which come with a few helpful bits; sponge, washing up liquid and towel, and doubled as a memory plant pot. Had lovely views all round, and the reception, shop and bar was all in close vicinity. I didn't actually use the bar, so can not comment on it any further but looked well occupied when I passed.
Was very close to a train track, with freight trains passingly regularly. Didn't bother me too much, as my kids sleep through anything, but may be bother to other people.

The caravan park is in a lovely location and the site is generally clean and tidy. The staff were undertaking a lot of work outdoors (presumably as it was the end of the season). The caravan was well equipped and had plenty room. We were able to park right outside and had furniture to sit outside too (although it was sadly too cold and wet while we were there)
The caravan could have been cleaner, there was a lot of dust and dead flies when we arrived. The shower could have used some attention (however, things like the actual toilets were very clean) It was easily fixed but it would have been nice not to have to clean after a long drive to get there.

My partner and I travelled 2 1/2 hours to stay at this location for a late birthday getaway and wow… the location is amazing, 2 minute walk to the nearest local pub ‘The Old Stables” (where the staff are lovely) if you’d rather not stay on site at their restaurant. The site itself is a lot smaller than most caravan parks so it was very relaxing with not many children around and plenty of scenic walks for dog owners. bedrooms are spacious and tidy, kitchen is huge with large fridge freezer & we had two bathrooms - one each haha!! we walked for almost an hour 1/2 each time around the trails on site... We especially loved the two lakes with decked walkways (my partner actually proposed!!!) it was beautiful and the weather was glorious, swans swimming around and not one person in sight! such a private, pretty place if you love your own company.
For those early risers and late sleepers - the tv in the caravan had no signal and all channels had interference however we can’t complain as we barely watched it🙂

Train line very busy and loud

Static caravan was clean comfortable and well maintained staff was friendly
The man behind the bar was slow and as we ordered pizza whilst the pizza was cooking you couldn't get a drink as he was watching the pizza that still came burnt.

Plenty of room for a couple of nights away. Lovely setting, easy short drive into Moffatt. It was nice to have the option to use the tavern on the site. All the cooking utensils, oven and fridge very clean, as were the shower and bathroom.
Beds were comfortable.
There was an odd foisty smell when you first walked in, maybe because it had been used by someone who had pets before. We had air freshener, and once we were cooking we didn't notice it again.
We naively thought there would be towels,, however just hand towel provided in each of the bathrooms. We managed with good improvisation.

The caravan was nice, good space. The onsite pub was good, lovely people even though a lot I guess were owners no one made us feel out of place! 80s night and bbq was on!
We were very close to the start of the park which is near the trainline and the onsite bar, so it was loud at times but we weren't overly unhappy about it.
The caravan was a great space for 4 of us however it wasn't spotlessly clean and we didn't have towels etc. The site was full that weekend so I understand these things can be missed, we informed the staff member and they could not have been anymore apologetic! :)

I liked checking out
Thumping noise from the pub on site until 1am. Drunks fighting, shouting and vomiting outside the pub beside purportedly family accommodation. Caravan and site absolutely nothing like the pictures. Worst night we’ve spent anywhere ever.
4.1
Suited well for our purpose of a base for 3 days motorbike touring.
nothing materially significant
