Einfach wow!

Beautifully styled guest house in a fantastic location. Really comfortable and calming duplex room to get away from the heat of the day. Jane and her team were so welcoming and went the extra mile to accommodate my husband's food intolerances for breakfast. We also booked a fantastic day tour with the lovely Lau through Jane to see more of the sights of Penang - a full on day, so enjoyable.
Absolutely nothing

Very nice guesthouse located in Love Lane, perfect to do almost everything by foot.
The room was spacious, with good air-con and pretty quiet, being the one furthest from the entrance.
The bed may be a little bit stiff but still confortable.

The property had been refurbished and taken back to the way it was when built. Owner Jane has done a fabulous job.
Highly recommend Jane and her boutique hotel

Colonial style building, in a very good location, close to all the attractions of Georgetown. Jane was an amazing host, she helped us with any request, she also arranged our pick up from the airport and recommended a tour with a great guide, mr Lau. The room was clean and was a very good value for money.

Charming and characterful place to stay. Spacious rooms with high ceilings. Located on famous Love Lane, with easy access to other Georgetown highlights. Staff very friendly and helpful. Accommodated an early check-in for example. They also helped arrange a day’s food and culture tour with Lau which we would highly recommend. Lau is a prince among men - so gentle and kind - and it helped us to feel more at home in Georgetown and Penang.
Note that it’s a memorable stay more than super high-end luxury. We will have very happy memories of You Le Leun for a long time.
Mosquitoes! And no nets. But we were given plug-ins to deal with those pests when we asked. Perhaps it could be mentioned and sorted before the bites begin!

Absolutely fabulous! You Le Yuen was the perfect place for us to unwind & thaw out coming from winter. The place is beautifully appointed (relaxing big bath- soogood), quiet, full of character & in a terrific location. Bus stop around the corner, restaurants & bars close, attentive staff & lovely breakfast prepared by Ryan, to start the day. Jane, the host, is very friendly, helpful & accommodating. The tour big day tour with Mr. Lau was very good. Loved everything!
All good!

Very beautifull tradition house, excellent interior and friendly woman, who runs the guest house. Breakfast is also nice, traditional roti cenai.

Beautiful house and furnishings. Great helpful and friendly staff.
Great location in the historic part of the city.
Rooms don’t get any sunlight. TV had no English channels but that wasn’t too much of a problem.

The location is very nice, old town main spots are all walking distance.
Nice style of the rooms but will clearly need a thorough cleaning ;)
There was a water leak in our room which we told the staff the first day, they never came to fix it so we had to sleep with annoying noise of leaking water for 3 nights (also a big waste as it was leaking quite a lot)
The breakfast included is only good if you like to sleep late, it only starts after 9am which with a toddler is way too late, we had to get breakfast outside. It would be good to put a note that it is the case to avoid disappointment from guests

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also helped us arrange for taxis & tours and gave lots of advice. The hotel is close to the center but enough outside it that it is quiet. The hotel and rooms have a nice heritage look.
The bathroom was very small, though that was clear from the description.

Hotel is clean and worth the price we paid. If one likes classic and rustic interior design, this is the place to stay. Meticulous and amazing interior design that brought us back to the 50s.
It’s not sound proof and we could literally hear occupants in other rooms. Lights too dimmed. Pillows were shabby. Only served breakfast from 9am onwards, lol.
On Friday night, there weren’t any car park at all and we had to park about 500m from the hotel and paid RM22.50 for overnight parking.
Everyone said the host, Ryan was friendly but I beg to differ. Perhaps he is only friendly to foreigners but not locals. Alas, the same mindset of host who are usually friendlier to foreigners but not locals.

We loved every moment of our stay at You Le Yuen. It's in the heart of historic Georgetown and just a few minutes walking distance from alot of beautiful attractions/restaurants/hawkers/shops!
The hotel itself is beautiful with alot of history in it's walls. We felt right at home at You Le Yuen

Fantastic location, very welcoming staff. Building itself was very interesting too
Room had shutters but no glass in the window openings so if you opened them to give more light in the room mosquitoes came in. Could add mosquito screens to the windows and then you could enjoy having the shutters open.

loved the design and layout, old vintage furniture. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean.
the staff were very hospitable and accommodating, and provided excellent food and attraction recommendations.
Location was excellent as it was walking distance to the main Georgetown heritage site and had excellent food and the night market stalls all nearby.
Right in front of a school, hence can get noisy around 730am on weekdays when the school starts. Also there is music playing at the bars down the street till around 10pm, not too loud as they are quite a distance away but may be a disturbance to early sleepers. Walls are also thin and not sound proof, although this is to be expected in this old heritage property.

.
We arrived late from Cameron Highlands because of traffic jam of Malay weekend.
We apologized. She didn't let us in room 40 min, although we were dying for sleep.
She was rude like a mother, 5 times I HD to hear I booked short notice. This was not friendly. One time is enough to explain I arrived late.
I wished to stay somewhere else.

Central location on Love Lane but quiet. Heritage design.
Lack of natural light in the room.

Jane is a very nice host and helps you with whatever she can. We are especially thankful for her connecting us to the local guide, Lao. The price for the day tour with him might appear significant at the first sight (although for Europeans it is quite affordable) - but Lao is worth every cent and more. He spent with us two hours longer than planned and showed us every corner of Georgetown, which is one of the most pleasant (and tastiest;) cities I've experienced. We would love to come back and would go on a tour with Lao again, every time;)
Sometimes at night mosquitoes were a little annoying - but that might not be the fault of the hotel

A fabulous colonial building in the heart of ‘happening’ Georgetown. At the quieter end of the street but really close to everything that you could want or need. Full of character and history with lots of quirky features.
The rooms were big and airy with good air-con & ceiling fans - much appreciated after the heat of the day!
