I booked a bed in a 4-bed dormitory, with fan.
The dormitory is large enough, so you do not feel packed at all.
The bed is a bunk bed, large enough, with a fair enough good mattress.
For this dorm (and the entire hostel), as a male, you have access to 1 shower, 1 toilet, 1 sink.
All were clean.
You also have access to a fully equipped kitchen, without oven.
The common space is nice.
The place is a local charmful house, hence it has more the feeling of a guest house than a proper hostel.
The WiFi is good.
500m away from main beach.
1km away from Woolworths / Coles supermarket.
2km away from Greyhound / Premier Motor Service bus stop.
The owner, Phil, is very chilled and friendly.
I would definitely recommend this place for a short or a long stay.

It was a comfortable place to stay. I really loved the experience and the hostel's style

Great location, amazing value, friendly host, clean and a cute homely vibe
I would of liked locks on the doors and the bedroom would of been perfect with a mozzie net or screens as I was bitten at night even with bug spray
3.5
All aspects are appreciated except for the proprietor. I am deeply grateful for any assistance extended to me. However, the manner in which he attempts to aid is peculiar and somewhat assertive. While it is acknowledged that he is entitled to a bonus from all tour guides, a more composed approach is encouraged.

great value for money in this expensive country. Nice kitchen and lovely deck off kitchen to hand out in.
no issues

It Was nice, open space in the Common áreas and cute place.
We found some animals in our room . It is very good to have the facilities open but it would be nice to put a mosquito net to prevent animals from entering the room.

Pulito, ordinato, unico problema letti corti e materassi bassi (scomodo in generale). L’host è molto gentile e anche il suo cane Leila. A disposizione una cucina con frigo e un grande tavolo. Consiglio se si ha bisogno di spendere una notte a Harvey Bay!

It's okay if you need to crash before the Fraser Island tour.
Owner was helpful with suggestions.
Rooms are not private in terms of sound, there is a gap at the top of the room so we could hear everything in the room next to us.

Just as you would expect for the price, the property has everything you need and a nice homely feel. It was clean and nicely presented.
Only negative was the attitude of the host who came across very aggressive a few times during our stay. Helpfully, he gave us lots of detail about the surrounding area and activities. However, he was overly pushy regarding one particular Fraser Island tour and made us feel very uncomfortable when we chose a different tour that we felt was right for us. We have been travelling for 8 months and have not experienced this before.

very very clean
there was no staff when I arrived at 6pm so one of the other backpackers said I should just take one of the beds
everything’s open, no doors can be locked

I didn’t like feeling unsafe. Nothing can be properly closed. When I arrived everything was wide open and there were no way to lock anything. Anyone could enter from any door.. As a solo traveler it’s very creepy to be sleeping alone in this kind of house. The owner seems “chocked” but by ready the review he knew .. this shouldn’t called an hostel and shouldn’t be propose at all. There are no keys, no check in, no contact with any one. So you are just left there where you don’t feel safe at all. People know that this place is always wide open and they either walk in or worse stole from you. Stay away.

owner was rude and grumpy
had overbooked the dorms and we had to wait around for ages while he worked out what to do - eventually he made 2 of the people sleep in a boat outside

Only room for 8 people and nice kitchen.
The womens bathroom did not lock properly, but because of the small number of people that wasn't too much of a problem. There were lot's of mosquitoes. The rooms weren't lockable and there were no safes.

The wifi was good.
It felt and looked more like an AirBNB than a hostel, the owner of the property was very rude and forthcoming with his views. wishing the first 5 mins of checking in he told us that everywhere we were going to visit in the East coast was terrible (not exactly inspiring to travellers) and that our room was already full of mosquitoes and there wasn’t a lot we could do apart from leave our light on. He treated you more like someone he’s doing a favour for then paying customers.
There are 0 locks and so safety and security of our possessions was down purely to luck, not hard to fit a lock on a door. Also, there is no aircon even though it says there is.
The women’s toilets had no hand wash or towel and shower barely locked.

Tiny hostel more like a share house.
Bathroom and kitchen are clean.
No locker.

This small youth hostel was very welcoming. It's a change from the big youth hostels with a lot of people. There are 2 shared rooms and one room for a couple. Common areas are very clean and nice to rest.
However, the host is arrogant and indirectly insults the young backpackers doing tourist activities. It is not very pleasant.

The bathroom is very clean, the kitchen is cozy, the price is really cheap
We had a late checkin because we arrived in the middle of the night and the bed linen in my bed were already used and not clean, the bunk bed had no ladder
2.5
close to the beach, cheap, other guests were nice.
Owner wasn’t that welcoming and was dismissive of everything we had booked for the rest of our trip. Beds were made of foam not an actual mattress.

hostel is very small for cca 10 people and private, owners are living in their house next to the hostel. quite clean, separated women and men toilet and showers.
location is quite bad, majority of things are happening near Urangan pier so you have to walk a lot or take the bus which is operating just from 8am till 5pm.
there are wooden facilities so you can hear every noise from the outside, no curtains so a lot of light during the night and morning in the room. not the best sleep.
4.5
Great cozy room with a comfortable bed. Small but friendly and even had assistance getting rid of a massive spider in our room which was the highlight of our trip!
Wasn’t a clear hand drying towel in the toilets and roll was very low. Had to do check-in over the phone but didn’t mind too much.

it was a beautiful Queenslander and the rooms and bathrooms were very clean the place was super chill and the owner was very friendly
