Fine stay!

Great place, very comfy, near the beach and it looks very good. Not the most sociable place but def a recommendation! The owner is a great guy who really wants to make you feel at home and comfortable. Highly appreciated, thanks for everything!

Would stay again

Lovely room and balcony. Super convenient location for the surf, parties, shops and restaurants and easy to hire boards and scooters here. Feels secure and safe. Nice staff.

No air con but staff gave a discount because of this. Wasn’t overly social

Vi stannade på detta boende i 5 nätter och trivdes bra. Det är en lugn innegård med renliga rum och trevlig personal.

Välskött och rent boende nära stranden med gångavstånd till surf och vad. Det var en liten längre promenad till ”centrum” men det gick bra.

Wi-Fi funkade inte på vårat rum utan bara i övriga utrymmen.

Very close to two good, intermediate, uncrowded, surf breaks, the owner is a very knowledgeable surfer and helpful with any queries we had (bearded guy). Nice courtyard area :)

The drains in the bathroom smelt very bad, no more sea view unfortunately due to building works, wasn’t much of an atmosphere when we were there either sadly.

Superb

I really had an amazing time staying here! The staff is extremely nice and will help you any time! They have amazing boards that you can rent and you only have to walk 1 minute to an amazing surfspot. Would totally recommend!!

Vibes and still there, but no more surf view

Really good vibes. Balcony's were chill and a good place to hang out especially for more long term. The guy that checked us in was really helpful!

We were super disappointed to see that a recent hotel across the road has started building up all along the beach. It's completely killed the surf view, all the view is now is just a half-built hotel - a real shame for the awesome guys running this place. So yeah if you just plan on hanging out at the restaurant area with a bunch of people watching the surf, well yeah unfortunately that's not gonna happen anymore. Sounded like this place was epic before. The toilets in both of our rooms stunk pretty bad, and I know Sri Lanka gets hot, but the fans in the room didn't do the greatest job. Normally I'm all groovy with fan but had a pretty rough night first night.

We planned to stay at Cocoplant Surf Inn for one week, and we ended up staying for seven weeks. Easy to say that our stay was nothing but perfect. The place is just in front of two great surf breaks, and we rented boards from the surfshop to be able to surf there. The vibe of the place is amazing, it's great value for money and the hosts were always ready to help us with anything. If I come back I'll stay here again for sure!! Thanks so much for everything!

Our stay in cocoplant was amazing. From the restaurant you have a beautiful view of the sea and can check the surf conditions. The surf spot is just across the street and also midigama beach is very close. They also offer surf lessons. Would definitely stay at this place anytime again. :)

The street can be a bit noisy during the day but thats in almost all places in Midigama

not their fault but the govt power cuts every day made the room a bit uncomfortable in the heat without a fan

Great location, excellent staff who were helpful and accomodating for everything. Surf hire on location at a pretty good price, and 5-7 min walk to some of the best food in Midigama.

You can hear the road from the communal area, but that's the case with anywhere in Midigama with a surf view. Other than that, nothing bad about it.

super great stay overlooking plantation point and coconut surf spots. super friendly staff! awesome chill out area!

super friendly staff, basic bedrooms that were great with everything you really need. ceiling fan did a good job of keeping us cool whilst we slept. breakfast and lunches were lovely and at a great price. from the restaurant and chill out area you can watch the surf at plantation point and coconuts. which is great for an early morning surf check. it’s also smells really good as they are always burning incense. it’s super close to the beach and has a nice surfboard rack to keep your boards in if you didn’t want them in the room with you definitely will be coming back!!

the water pressure of the shower isn’t great, but it didn’t really bother us as it wasn’t that bad.

Chill and friendly people and very nice view of the beach from our room. Next to the main and loud road, but we got up very early in de morning to go surfing so had no problems with that. If you want to go surfing they have all the gear and can manage a lesson.

They forgot our reservation via booking, so when we arrived they had no available room for us. But someone fixed a room next door very quickly, was not the same standard but at least they fixed something for us.

Nice little place a bit spoiled by the road

Really nice, helpful staff, good value for money, nice restaurant on upper floor.

Location next to a busy, noisy road with no footpath, only choice is to walk along dangerous verge or take a tuk tuk, who inflate their prices for tourists.

My stay was comfortable and without a hickup.

The location is perfect if you are an intermediate level surfer. Everything was arranged when asked.

The bed was too short for my height (6'2''). Although, it was wide enough for me to sleep corner to corner and fit.

Great place to stay. It's right opposite to one of the best surf breaks on the southern coast. The rooms are comfortable and the people who run the place are warm and helpful. Highly recommended

Place with potential that hopefully recovers from COVID closure

The staff is really nice and the room was clean

The street in front of the hostel is really loud. There are buses and big trucks speeding every view seconds. I think the hostel used to be a really nice place for surfers but it felt really decerted at the time of my stay. Unfortunately there is a big construction side right now just in front of the hostel - a big hotel will be built there. All in all its not a very comfortable place right now.

Prime surf location!

Prime location if you're here to surf. Right in front of two awesome spots. More spots close by. Surf check from bed! The owner and the staff are super nice and do everything to make you feel like home. Nice breakfast with sea view and a couple of local restaurants with awesome rice and curry in short walking distance. Airport pick up was perfect. Tuk Tuk driver and scooter rental service available. Surfboard repair cheap, fast and well done as well. Booked for 5 days but extended our stay because we love it here. Will come back for sure :)

The main road is a bit noisy but you'll get used to it.

On the beach road (north side ) 2nd floor bar area gave good views to sea. Took the best room they have, it was comfortable but nothing special. Staff are sociable.

At this price point (35USD)! I’d expect a grill over bathroom window vents to stop insects coming in. Nowhere to hang stuff or put stuff. No fridge or tv or tea coffee making stuff. WiFi doesn’t reach to the room. All the above are offered for far less pretty much everywhere in Sri Lanka.
