We initially had a reservation for 10 days and ended up staying a month.
The family is lovely, they share everything they have and try to help you in every way possible.
We had all the privacy we wanted and at the same time we were able to include ourselves in all the activities they did, sharing meals, celebrations...
If you prefer your space, they are respectful and not noisy (even with 2 children and 2 pets!)
With the included breakfast we tried a large number of typical dishes! and we were always able to have them when we returned from surfing (or whenever we want)
We share the kitchen with them, there are enough utensils and a good pan.
We also rent a motorcycle with them, at a fair price.
The accommodation is close to the road and is surprisingly busy for such a small road almost all day, noise start early. For us, as we woke up early for surfing and no-napping was not a big problem, but it is something to keep in mind if you are looking for something really quiet.

The kindness of the hosts, always making sure we were confortable and had everything.
It was clean, and the room was spacious.the breakfast was delicious, and changed everyday!
They also have a beautiful garden.
The house is 5 / 10 minutes walk from the beach.
Nothing, we would love to come back, it was a great place to stay!

everything was super

The location is the best and the room, although humble, was nice.
I'm ok with humble places and I feel bad leaving a bad comment as they are kind, but it wasn't very clean. There were ashes from the previous guest in the terrace and also in the bathroom. Hair in the bathroom too. Moreover, the bathroom doesn't have a real wall. It looks like a thin wood separating the bathroom from their house so, as a woman travelling alone, it felt a bit creepy and it was noisy too as I could hear their tv, them talking and when dogs barked at night.
On the other hand, although I'm sure they were trying to be kind and attentive, I found it too intrusive; I got followed to the beach and then at night when my lights were off and was trying to sleep they still called me aloud to see if I wanted to order dinner.

I had an amazing stay here! Like others wrote, the facilities are basic and the bathroom could need a little make over, but the big bed is super comfortable and the room had everything I needed.
What made my stay here unforgettable is the little family that takes care of you and does everything to make you feel nice and comfortable, surprises you with a cup of tea here and there and even let you take part in cultural things if you want to (had a beautiful trip to the temple with them).
Both the included breakfast and the dinner you can order additionally are delicious and versatile. I’d definitely like to come again!
nothing to mention :)

The family is very nice and welcoming and the breakfast is quite good.
I had to go through the owner space to get to the bathroom. They put a curtain for more privacy but it still a little bit unexpected.

The family that runs this homestay is absolutely lovely. They're the kind of people who make you feel at home right away, and give so much more than they get. Facilities and food are basic, but the location is great and the family is really special!

The family is lovely, they really make you feel at home! It's located just in front of wild beach:) Breakfast is nice.
The bathroom is not very pleasant and it's located near the road (noisy at night). It's ok for a few nights for small budget travelers.

Friendly family.
The price on booking.com says 1,129 LKR per night. Afterwards I had to pay 3000 LKR per night. This is not worth it.

super nice family, it was a pleasure to stay with them and spend time there. Sri Lankan breakfast everyday. We really experienced the real Sri Lankan hospitality. Children were really nice, always helping.

Owners are super friendly and warmhearted
close to the road, so it's a bit loud

Super friendly and generously family that run this home stay. Fans in every room and Wi-Fi is good. Breakfast is Sri Lankan style and we are dinner and had a lovely fish curry with a range of heat for spice lovers and spice not-so-lovers. Bottled water available on site and you are about a 200m walk to lazy left with wild beach over the road, perfect for sun sets, maybe a beer and a swim. Much nicer to fund a local family than a faceless 'cool' hostel where you pay double for less community feel and the same standard of room. If you are in Midigama this is a great place to stay!!!

Extremely hospitable host always came over to us and asked us if we needed anything, gave us complimentary tea and breakfast. Get them to cook you dinner if they offer, it was delicious and really felt like a family meal. Kids are super cute as well. Would definitely stay again!

The Villa is an ancient and beautiful colonial house (the owner explain us the history of his family house). We had a huge room with a king size bed (with mosquito net) and private bathroom. In front of the room you have a chill area in the shadow where you can relax in the hammock and take a cold outside shower. In front of the hostel there are a good beach for relaxing or surfing! Good waves in january. The breakfast was delicious and the owner and his family was super helpful and lovely! Thank you! I recommend it!
