LeeAnnn was a fantastic host. You can walk on the beach, have a nice view on the veranda or just relax in the swimming pool. The room was clean and had all that is needed. Including homely breakfast just makes you feel comfortable. Theres is absolutely no noise which i really appreciated.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Kootenay, it is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. Lili and her staff have been very kind and helpful throughout. Every day we enjoyed the delicious breakfast, the pool, beautiful and clean rooms and as a highlight the rooftop overlooking the bay. We rented SUPs and kayaks, paddled to the mangroves and saw dolphins. Couldn’t have wished for more.

Casa Kootenay is a wonderful spot to relax, discover La Paz and the area and enjoy life! Lili has a special gift to make you feel at home, you'll wake up to homebaked cookies every day and a delicias breakfast, get free bikes, kayaks and a lot more than you would have ever thought of to discover the beautiful bay and feel welcome all along. The house is beautiful, a stunning terrace with a view above the bay, nice little pool for a dir and a lot of common spaces to share. The rooms are cozy and comfy (highly recommend the upstairs rooms), there is a lot of extras like nice shampo etc, free drinking water and coffee as much as you want at anytime, and a lot of little things that you are really super welcome in this house. We had a great time and will be back!

Lovely beach front location with beautiful views over the bay. Fabulous breakfast and Leeanne was so helpful with her local knowledge about where to go and what to do. Utterly relaxing and walkable/bikeable to town. Loved our stay.

The room was very spacious and clean, and came with water, real coffee and tea. I also loved the common area with the kitchen. We weren't able to stay for the full breakfast but we were welcome to help ourselves to breakfast food from the outdoor kitchen. We also loved the owner's dogs and tortoise :)
Nothing!

Fantastic location right on the bay to walk the beach. The hospitality was outstanding.
Rooms were a bit dated, the the amenities were excellent.

I think it’s important to understand that this property and experience is literally exceptional—meaning you’re really not going to find something else even close in La Paz (and perhaps elsewhere). Where else will you find a 4 guest room stunning house, right on the water with a delightful beach, view, free kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, you name it? The roof deck is a dream place to hang out, watch the sunset, do yoga, stargaze. Most accommodations are hotels, very up high condos with water front but not beach, or one or two extremely large, extremely expensive (even by American standards) private homes that would only suit a large number of people. The breakfasts are consistently huge and delicious—different little treats, smoothies, juices, coffee and cereals every day plus a hot, breakfast tailored to your food preferences and allergies to the very extent possible. But the special sauce in all of this is the hostess Leeanne, a British Columbia world travelled spirit whose warm and generous personality (along with her 2 beautifully behaved dogs) permeates the whole experience. The perfect mixture of great restaurant, tour and visit suggestions that you couldn’t find on line, to chatting and visiting, to letting you have your own space. She is receptive and available without being the slightest bit intrusive—which is tough to pull off! It’s also fun to the have the option of getting to know the other guests or not. Pro tip: don’t bring sunscreen, SO many guests have left their 3/4 full bottles.
Our room the Purcel room was beautiful and comfortable but probably had the least light and advantageous position in the compound so next time I’ll shoot for one of the upstairs room (but there wasn’t noise overhead)

An Oasis just outside of the city. The host is wonderful. Excellent breakfasts in the clubhouse which is open 7:00 till noon which is the fancier part of the property. Access to beach along the side of the house. Fabulous community kitchen available to use. Excellent spot for a group/family or couples travelling together. Everyone can have their own room and you can come together to cook and enjoy the outdoor spaces. Pool is not heated like most aren’t in Mexico and parking is on the street

Leanne and her team do a fabulous job making you feel right at home. This is the only beachfront option in La Paz - so we loved being right on the water. Breakfast is fabulous and the beds are super comfortable. All the water toys and supplies you need to enjoy the water.
It's 2 miles to the main downtown La Paz. So be sure to get a bike Leanne has them available or you can rent them in town.

The best place to stay in La Paz! We absolutely loved our stay with Leanne and wish we could have stayed longer. The breakfast every morning was the best I have ever had included with a stay - as a vegan I don’t have very high expectations when breakfast is included but every morning was a different menu and so delicious!! The animals Leanne has were also lovely, we miss our dogs at home so it was nice to have pups around, rooftop patio was amazing to watch sunsets, bed was SO comfy, very quiet location, Leanne was incredibly helpful with everything we needed/asked, our room was also incredibly clean - never saw one bug during our entire stay

Pictures simply don’t do this wonderful place justice. From the secret garden walkway when you enter to the absolute magnificent views from the rooftop lounge area — Casa Kootenay is exactly what everyone needs!
Leeanne is a fabulous host and greets you upon arrival with all the info needed to make your stay wonderful. The breakfast dining area is truly remarkable with all of the beautiful artwork from around the world. Plus the brekkie hot plates are delish and always paired with a fresh fruit plate and sweet treat. Not to mention, there is truly nothing Leeanne has missed — the woman has thought of everything to make your stay so comfortable.
The beach is immaculate and usually empty which is such a nice treat! I saw dolphins EVERYday for sunrise and sunset. I was even able to use one of the kayaks to get a bit closer and saw a small sea lion pop her head up a few times. The best spot for sunrise and sunset is on the rooftop. I even saw a rainbow my first sunrise there. Truly a magical place with lots of friendly wildlife. From the dolphins to the hummingbirds — you’ll feel like you’re in Nature Narnia :) There are bikes to use but walking to the Malecon takes no time. What great area to grab some food and wander around a bit.
The room I stayed in was bigger than my apartment. Immaculate, very comfortable (great pillows!), the AC was heaven when the humidity was too much, there is nothing missing in those rooms either — mini fridge with cold water, Robes, beach towels — even Netflix for those who dare to watch tv on holiday ;) and the sweet pool is a great way to cool off when relaxing in the sun too!
Unfortunately I wound up with Covid (first timer) and Leeanne was beyond kind and accommodating. She made me feel welcome and comfortable! Leeanne was so kind and stuck to protocol but brought me plates of food with nice notes everyday while I quarantined.

Casa Kootenay felt like a home away from home. LeAnn had put a lot of thought into all a traveler might need or want. It was the perfect getaway for us!

Beautiful B&B set in a prime location on the beach. The upper deck was a comfortable and tranquil spot to take in the Sea of Cortez, watch the dolphins during the day and the sunsets in the evenings. Leeanne, the owner and host, was lovely and gracious and the breakfasts were amazing! The property is bit north of town so very peaceful and quiet. And it's just a quick inDriver (uber) ride away from town. Bikes and all sorts of water equipment are provided (at no cost) so you can really experience all there is to enjoy in La Paz.
The pool is on the small side but still provided a nice refreshing place to cool off.

The breakfast was phenomenal. Homemade and delicious. Excellent coffee and juices. Leeanne is such a great person and host. She couldn't be more accommodating. Right when I got there she showed me the local beach and the best spot for a michelada. Also, she provided beach chairs, coolers, umbrella, and snorkel gear. Totally would stay there again.
Can't think of anything.

The breakfast was outstanding. Fresh ingredients and hot off the stove. Fruits and cereal and yogurt available if a hot Mexican breakfast is not desired.
The pool water had repair needs which were being addressed as we were leaving. The water was too cold to swim in while we were there.

Leann was a great host. She was so helpful in arranging excursions and our COVID tests. Her recommendations for restaurants and shops were fantastic! Being right on the water was a bonus as our guides' boat literally picked us up on the shore at the hotelBreakfast . I can't wait to go back and stay longer!
Nothing. The stay was great.

The hostess was so nice, the attention was incredibly all the time, she worried for you to have the best experience, delicious homemade breakfast, all the facilities to have fun (pool, kayak, windsurfing, paddle board, hut tub, beach view).

We absolutely loved our stay here: the house is beautiful and located in a rather residential area right at the beach with a roof terrace to enjoy the sunset. There are only a couple of rooms. That and the fact that it's also the owner's private home make for a cozy and familiar atmosphere. Leanne is a wonderfully nice and very engaged host who really takes care of her guests and their needs, for example with a delicious homemade breakfast in the main house each morning. What a start into the day! The rooms are big and very comfy and clean.
The location is not only beatiful, but it's also only about a twenty minute walk to the southern end of the "malecón" with nice restaurants and shops.
We can only thank Leelee for a wonderful experience and recommend her place to everyone!

the problem was the location, it was too far from everything, and Lyft and Uber didn't work around the hotel, drivers weren't accepting our request and we ended up walking everywhere for around 25 mins. Didn't feel safe walking to everywhere unless you have a car!
4.5 / 5.0
Fantastic host with great tips for enjoying the surrounding area. Breakfasts were excellent and large enough to keep you from being hungry until dinner! Quiet area. Definitely was a plus to have a rental car. If you do not want a crowded resort, this is ideal for the DIY traveller.
The beach in front of the property is not as nice as other surrounding beaches. The trade-off of being in a quiet neighborhood is that you really do better having a rental car when staying here.

The physical building is SO nice and tidy and clean and quiet! Leanne was great, helped me to go SUP every morning. I loved the roof! And the jacuzzi, and the beach, and the... everything!
I didn't like leaving!

Fantastic. The fruit was a nice touch. We loved ellathe dog. We will return soon..The room was spacious. the shower had plenty of pressure the water was hot. EASY TO FIND Very quiet place to stay. Leeann even got us some beer in the evening while we were in the pool. Decorated so nice. The shark clock with the man in his mouth was one of my favorite art pieces. The plants and trees was the perfect touch.
For what we paid it was perfect.. Nothing really.
Our eyes are getting old and we do not see as good as we should. The TV was bit too small for us old people, but who wants to watch TV with a pool on premise and a rooftop terrace.
