Egentligen inget.

A charming historical hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The room was very clean, tasteful and massive. The prices are also very good. Ubeda is well worth a visit and we would not hesitate staying here again

Absolument exceptionnel. Accueil très chaleureux. Decors magnifiques. Très grande chambre. Belle salle de bains. Calme.

It was a great experience having the opportunity to stay at the hotel. It is the family home of Pepe, who runs the hotel. It’s amazing to see all of the original furnishings and decor that have been preserved over the years. We really enjoyed hearing from Pepe about the history of his home and family.
Because this is a historic home, you will lose a little bit of the modern comforts or amenities you might have in a luxury hotel. However, we were plenty cool with the a/c and if you’re interested in staying in a unique place, this is a great choice.

The location is excellent. A few minutes from the historic centre. There is also a car park close by but we used the covered parking in Plaza de Andalucia. The building is a beautiful historic home. Renovated with care to retain its authenticity. Pepe was very welcoming and on handing us our keys he told us we were home for the duration of our stay. Our room was a lovely double on the ground floor. The bed was comfortable and there was ample hanging space. It was incredibly quiet although there are bars just around the corner. Wifi was excellent. Breakfast was served in an elegant room. There was everything you’d expect - toast, cheese, ham, a variety of different sweet cakes, fruit and cereals. Pepe made me a decaffeinated coffee in a machine after I declined the coffee. Everything would have been replenished if we had room for more! Altogether an elegant and memorable stay.
The safe in the room didn’t work. The shower takes quite some time to get hot. A little note to put your mind at rest that hot water is on it’s way would be helpful. There is a coffee machine in the garden but we didn’t use it.

Pepe, the host, greeted us upon arrival, and showed us around his historic home. This is a perfect place to stay for those who appreciate historic places, and want to be put into a 17th century home built by Pepe's family.
The furnishings are antiques which his family purchased over time. Everything feels like you are living and experiencing life long ago as soon as you enter the courtyard beyond the front door. Our friends who joined us on the trip admired the furnishings and feel of Pepe's home, and were treated to a tour of the rooms by him. He showed the family chapel, dining room, sitting room, and photos of his family from the 1800s to the year 2000. There is also a family chapel in the home, where some family weddings were held in the past.
Just outside the home, it is a short walk to the historic section of Ubeda.
Breakfast was top notch, with traditional sliced meets, sausage, cheese, and breads, along with fresh orange juice, coffee, yogurt and cereals. It was a great way to start our day in Ubeda and Baeza.
The bathrooms have been updated within the last year or two, and are the only touch that is not from the past. They are totally up to date.
There was nothing we did not like, since we wanted and got a step back in time.

It felt like a privilege to stay in such a lovely old building. Our bedroom had high a ceiling and some nice old furniture. Our host was very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was served in a lovely room upstairs and was excellent, everything was good quality and there was a good variety. We parked in the underground car park, Aparcamientos Úbeda, which cost 13 euro for 24 hours. The hotel is ideally situated to explore the old town. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful historic building in a fantastic setting. Our room had a high beamed ceiling and was decorated in authentic period style. The building’s interior was lovely, with stained glass on the mezzanine and a sweeping wood-banistered stone staircase. The cobbled courtyard patio was a lovely shady feature, as was the breakfast room - in a converted ballroom!
The aircon was efficient and the water was hot, the owner was charming and helpful, and the location in the historic centre is perfect for visiting Ubeda.
Annoyingly the only toiletries provided were a couple of Mercadona hand soap gels, and there was no kettle in the room for making hot drinks - this was a pity as these small things would’ve made our stay more comfortable.
But the real disappointment was the breakfast. We’d seen rave reviews online, but it was awful, especially the tepid filter coffee and sliced processed bread. We had to stop elsewhere for breakfast after we left.
A few hot rolls and an espresso coffee machine would’ve made a world of difference. Such a shame as otherwise this was a very nice hotel.

What an absolute gem. We picked this hotel based on the previous reviews and we were not disappointed. Like Ubeda itself, the hotel is steeped in history and we were made to feel so welcome. Our room was delightful. The courtyard with its coffee machine such a pleasant surprise which we made good use of. We will be back for sure. Thank you Pepe.

Great location close to old part of Ubeda with nice bars & restaurants( try Le Bistro to left of hotel in small placa). Hotel is a family home with wonderful rooms and decor going back generations. Your host, Pepe, is great and serves you a very good breakfast. Rooms are spacious and immaculate. Nice cool terrace garden with great birdlife. Rooms are cool in high temps but aircon if needed. Great three days-good base for touring the area. Do not miss Cazorla national park!! Thanks Pepe!
