The unit we occupied was between two others. So, a little like a motel, but with a lovely rural atmosphere. Lovely little table set on the deck which overlooked the pastures. At the corner of the building was a hot tub which the owner filled upon arrival with geothermal water, which was then emptied after we'd gone to bed. Loved the hot tub and was one of the warmest we used while in Iceland. Owners were friendly and nice, and lovely farm with everything you'd expect on a farm.
Actually, cann't think of anything.

Our quite large studio was very pleasant and well presented. The bed was very very comfortable. The deck area at the front was a lovely place to enjoy the view over the farm with sheep and horses in the next paddock. A great place to finish the day in the sun with a glass of wine.

Vallakot Farm Guesthouse was our base when exploring the Lake Myvatn area.
We had several questions to pose during and shortly after booking, and Indiana was very efficient and clear in her responses.
We had Room 1, closest to the parking spots, furthest from the hot tub. It was spacious and comfortable. We did need to shuffle the furniture around a little to lay down our hard suitcases, but this was something we had to do in most places. The bed was very comfortable.
The bathroom was a very comfortable size, and we valued the closed shower and very efficient heated towel rail.
There was a very useful kitchen with cooktop and microwave, and a small dining table.
We arranged to have a load of laundry done for us overnight given our limited duration stay and need for some clean clothes. Our arrival was delayed because we had to wait for the weather to improve to permit driving on some of the roads. Even so, we were able to communicate with Indiana easily through the booking.com app and she was able to accommodate us. Despite a small bit of confusion about how we should pay for the laundry service, the job was done in good time.
It was very easy to deal with Indiana and it was a comfortable stay for us. We would stay here again.
The bathroom door does need some attention as it swings closed of its own accord. Doors should remain where you want them!

This is a great unit within easy reach if Mývatn and Goðafoss and most of the other northern sights.
Quiet location on a farm. The unit is very comfortable and warm (which matters when it was -16° outside!). The kitchenette was great - everything you could need, and the fridge was big, and had a freezer section (which is a rare find). I stayed for 3 nights. The bed was super comfy, and the bathroom was more than big enough with a good shower.
As a solo traveller, sometimes it is comforting to have a TV to watch, but this unit doesn't have one.
Also, the hottub wasn't working (understandably, as it's winter and it was covered in snow). It would be good to use if you were staying there in summer, though.

Very clean, spacious room. Lovely dogs!
Needs some more utensils (kitchen tongs).
The walls were paper thin. We were loudly awakened by movements of the adjoining apartment very early in the morning. I could hear their every action. Maybe they were just inconsiderate, but it seems there is no sound dampening.

This was one of our favorite stays during our 14 day trip around the ring road. We stayed for 2 nights. The hosts were incredibly friendly. Check-in was easy. We stayed in one of the 3 studios, which was perfect for 2 people. The hot tub was great!

Warm room, comfy bed. Cute dogs, friendly people. Microwave and hot plate. Warm bars to dry damp clothes.
Tiny cups and glasses, limited cooking facilities (pans, tongs etc), no TV, thin walls. Driving past broken white goods and junk to get to guesthouse.

The room was beautiful, we were greeted very warmly and they were warming up the hot tub for us when we arrived. Our hosts were lovely and the view was gorgeous. Fully equipped kitchen was great for cooking dinner and so many things to see and do with a short drive.
The shower was a little small

Room was very nice with very comfortable bed and pillows. It was also very clean and facilities looked high-quality. Our room was cleaned every day.
There is also a hot tube which an owner can make for you on- and you have a very nice view from it.
We had everything what we need during our stay, there were even oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, creme for coffee and sugar.
There is nothing in surrounding, so it is also very quiet.
