It was awesome!

Hotel facilities are great; the jungle is excellent. Beach is beautiful and bar services around are very good.
Restaurants close early. You are not allowed to take food our of the restaurants. No snacks; impossible to have some drinks with snacks outside restaurants. Restaurants were already packed during my full stay the minute after I arrive to the hotel.

A praia linda e o mar também. Só não conseguimos sombra em nenhum momento. Alimentação boa. Serviço de quarto bom e limpeza. Shows a noite bacanas. Bastante natureza no hotel.
Cerveja na praia ruim e quente. Drinks ok.

the natural surroundings were lovely
on arrival our allocated room was not what we booked and was in dire need of refurbishment and a deep cleaning even though they informed us that we had been upgraded. To get a standard sun bed you would need to be up at 7am to get one. When we explained about the room, the staff at reception were sympathetic and outlined this was not uncommon for guests to be unhappy with the outdated rooms. In the end we had no alternative but to upgrade our room and join their star preferred club just to have a renovated room and to have access to a sun bed. it felt like everything was an up sell and became an expensive trip for an average stay. We had already spent a couple of weeks in Mexico and this was by far the worst value for money we experienced. definitely does not deserve a 5 star rating.

This was an exceptional vacation. It was perfect in every way imaginable. Every staff member that I came in contact with treated me like family. I was greeted warmly when I checked in. I upgraded to a Caribbean Sea front room and I can truly say I was literally living on the waterfront for a week. Well worth the upgrade cost! My room was cleaned every day and the ladies went above and beyond in their service. The entire resort was spotless. Cleaning, landscaping, smiles, entertainment. Every day exceeded the previous one. The food displays at the buffet were over the top fabulous. Soufflés, cheeses, breads, salads, carving stations, paella. cheeses. I could go on and one. Food non stop. The reservation dining experience was on par to anything I have eaten in Philadelphia, New York or San Diego. Seafood was so fresh. The BBQ was reminiscent of some of the finest halls in Brooklyn, Austin or St. Louis. I truly loved everything about Iberostar Tucan!

Despite small beach area and some seaweed, it's a great place to enjoy the ocean - nice sandy floor, pleasant waves, and clean water. This is also a habitat for multiple animal species, as well as lots of peacocks on the property.
Chasing open places to eat, guarding beach towels and cards, and getting all sorts of lame excuses why you can't book a restaurant for dinner gets old really fast.

One of the best hotels i have ever stayed for vacation. Very good food in Buffet Restaurant Tulum. Saff of all departements are extreme friendly and work hard. Pool and Jungle are amazing. Entertainment Team is on fire every day. I also had a good time at the Swim Up Bar. Perfect place if you want to relax as well as if you wanna have fun
Rooms are okay but old.

we again enjoyed staying in Iberostar tucan. Staff was amazing and helpful like always, food was fantastic. they did some improvements since last year and it was nice to see. beach and pool area are really great. day entertainment and activities were enjoyable.
we think that there are not enough options of kids friendly and non alcoholic beverages. everything is full of sugar and just too sweet. our daughter did not like anything and we also didn’t like those unhealthy drinks. fresh fruit juices would be perfect.
kids club is a bit poor, and kids evening disco and evening shows were really bad. such a disappointment,as last year it was much better.

Noisy room. The environmental change to no paper created problems. What restaurants are open and when.

Nice amenities, resort lay-out, good food with a lot of variety, and attentive bar and restaurant staff.
Need to wake up early and secure a sun bed. Around 7:30 AM all are taken and staff is not enforcing ‘rule’ to not reserve beds. Same goes for smoking, which is only allowed in certain sections but is not enforced. Not even when people smoke in the pool, we saw staff walking by and friendly greeting those that were smoking. Reception staff not attentive at all. Apparently our electronic room lock broke which led another hotel guest walk into our room (by mistake) while my son was sleeping. This was not taken serious at all. No apology or even sign of understanding this caused stress. Had to call several times and got lied to staff was on their way or already there to fix the lock. We have heard very similar complaints from other guests who’s AC broke down, very troublesome having a baby who needs to sleep. Kids animation focuses on smaller children with most of language spoken being Spanish. There was not much to do for kids in 8-13 range, in contrast to what is advertised. We have had a very satisfactory stay at this resort 15 years earlier but the way it is managed now makes we will not visit again and also don’t recommend to others anymore.

+ Great food: buffets were lavish and well taken care of
+ Nice well kept garden with lots of animals
+ Friendly staff
+ Location close to Playa del Carmen
+ Mosquito repellent available in the room
- Rooms are outdated
- Constant soliciting at the beach for massages, jet ski, parasailing, excursions, etc, etc... - this is the case in many hotels at the Riviera Maya area, but it is nonetheless quite annoying

Breakfast choices were excellent as was location.
It would have been nice to easily pick up coffee to go without going to the restaurant.

The hotel is really beautiful and comfortable the location is just perfect, the staff was really nice as well and finally the food was surprisingly good considering it's an all inclusive.
The service before arrival wasn't good, I sent emails that never answered me and they hung up the phone more than once when calling.
The hotel is a 5 starts but the rooms are not, I went with my family therefore I had the chance to see 4 different rooms and all of them where quite old and neglected.

Amazing staff, beautiful grounds, great shows!
Would have been nice if the hotel had a shuttle to pick us up from the airport. It was hard to get a lounge chair by the pool.

The buffet food was ok.
A guest died at the pool. the lifeguard and staff seemed inadequately prepared to assist the hotel guest who went through the medical emergency.

Food, outside resort and the jungle area
The fact that sunbeds at the beach and at the pool were not enough and people were occupying them very early in the morning with towels without actually using them...
Room furtniture quite old

Food was on par with buffet options found on a cruise. The grounds were very well taken care of. My trip to the spa was quite refreshing and relaxing.
I wanted a good quality steak like a filet mignon. They should offer a premium dining capability. The tropical area between the lobby and pool is nice, but very difficult to walk through for those with hip/knee or other challenges. Walking on the service path adds to the distance for those with mobility problems.
