Hotel and Restaurant are lovely, very well decorated
The room was uncomfortably warm, windows didn’t open or no air con so it was just a sauna

Breakfast was lovely, good choice of food and good quality.
no dress code for breakfast, as young loved up couple in dining area dress in night wear.

The rooms were comfortable, but badly lit. The fire pits were lovely outside,
Food very good and staff very friendly
There was lots of chopped painting around d the building making it looked uncared for; it needed to be hoovered/cleaned. It was too expensive for what it was. We paid £195 for B&B

Food was lovely
Everything possible was provided in room - bathrobes, chocolate, water, very full hospitality tray …
The room was a bit on the small side and there was noise from the busy road

We were given a free upgrade to the honeymoon suite due to a mix up with our booking
The only thing was the size of my hubby's pudding he only got ice cream and I think it was a melon baller they used instead of a scoop. Still delicious

very chic and stylish decor and excellent room facilities
noisy children belonging to other guests. they were harmlessly playing but the venue didn’t market themselves as a venue for young families

The hotel is stunning and rooms are very pretty. Proper coffee with a cafetiere and added extras like Belgian chocolate were a beautiful touch. The bathroom was gorgeous with a huge walk in shower. The decor an attention to detail were lovely.
The restaurant food was exquisite with superb quality meat, and the grounds surrounding the hotel are gorgeous. Staff were warm and welcoming.
My fiance and I came to look around the wedding venue and checked via phone in advance whether this would be possible, it was as there was no ceremony so we had a chance to freewalk around. Everything was completely stunning from the ceremony room to the spaces for celebrations and dining hall.
Our room was aesthetically pleasing but the wall lights wouldn't work, and one bedside light was missing a bulb while the other would trigger an epileptic seizure. Due to this the room was very dark and only the main light worked (very dim). The Netflix also wasn't working, a perk we had looked forward to for chilling after a long day exploring Northumberland. We asked staff if they would fix this but they were unable to.
The main negative was that there was no cold water, one tap was boiling while the other was just a bit less boiling no matter how long you ran them. The room had complimentary cans of water so we halved the still can between us for the night.
The windows don't close properly and are single glazed, so you can hear all of the traffic all night long. We let the staff on checkout know and she advised we can ask for a room towards the back if we book again. As there were only 2 rooms booked on the night we stayed, I felt disappointed we weren't just put in another room on check in that had more functional facilities towards the back.
Overall the wedding venue was great, but I would not want my guests staying in these rooms and being unable to sleep or get a glass of water, so will reluctantly be looking elsewhere.

food is lovely & easy check in
drinks were expensive

The staff were generally friendly and helpful.
Room 18 was £250 inc breakfast. For this rate you expect a premium room. It certainly is not premium. Your view is a stone wall some two metres away, electric socket near window hanging off wall, room is dark and toilet is barely large enough to fit in.
Hallways don't look like they have been hoovered in weeks, and there are odd smells in various parts of hotel.
This hotel is a wedding venue, and they have weddings on most weekends. Our room wasn't particularly noisy but you are prevented access from gardens when the wedding function is happening.

good location and friendly, helpful staff
the rooms was very dark and a better light would have been helpful esp when trying to put on makeup

It's a great hotel and the staff are lovely. They made it very easy to move from room 23 to room 5 (I had to move because of the wedding), everything went really well and the environment was excellent too. The food was also good.
There was a smell in room 5 and the light wasn't the best in room 23. I went for a wedding and it wasn't easy to do my hair and make-up. The rooms are very pricey so I would expect better service.
