About this house rental
Situated on a country lane in the village of Otterburn this holiday cottage is benefited by its spacious rooms and beautiful interior standards. Close to the wedding venues of Woodhill Hall and Le Petit Chateau. The living room boasts a solid oak floor as well as an open fire place and Flat screen TV & DVD player. Wi Fi supplied. The Sun Lounge offers fantastic views of the garden and surrounding country side. A fully equipped kitchen looks onto the sun room making it ideal for families or groups of friends wishing to prepare meals but still be involved in the living space. Through the sun room’s French windows lies a large and well maintained garden that is separated from the front garden and drive making it an ideal area for children, pets and relaxing in the summer sun. All bedrooms are good sizes and with a single, twin and two doubles this house offers great versatility. Additionally, a utility room and porch offer extra space for preparing for the great outdoors or just another place to sit in the sun. With such lavish standards and a fantastic location for exploring the Northumbrian countryside, guests of this property will not be disappointed.

We where going to a wedding at Le Petit Chateau and decided to rent this property for the weekend as it is only minutes walking distance to the venue, the House is beautiful with everything you need and the views from the property are stunning so peaceful and tranquil only wish we didn’t have to leave. Lovely place to stay we were going to a wedding at Le Petit Chateau in Otterburn with family. Only a 5 minute walk to the venue from the cottage. The owner Susan invited us to have a look around her stables where they train race horses.

We were attending a family wedding in the village and all enjoyed the space, views and cleanliness of this lovely property. Susan was super helpful and even gave us a tour of the race yard!

We were attending a wedding at Le Petite Chateau- the house was a perfect location, just a 5 minute walk. The owners invited us to view their stables , Susan being a racehorse trainer and breeder.

Great property with a lovely view
I really enjoyed our stay here and worked well for our family. The facilities were excellent and my daughter loved the toys in her room. It could do with a little bit of upkeep as there were a few small things that could be fixed.

Lovely homely cottage in Otterburn
The cottage was spacious, well equipped and warm during our February stay, with a very homely feel. Susan was a wonderful host who was very accommodating, and we would highly recommend Susan's cottage.

Lovely short break
Susan was a great host who was easy to communicate with. We had a great stay in this very comfortable cottage. We were attending a family wedding at Le Petit Chateau and it was great to be able to walk to the venue. Would definitely recommend!

Home from home
We enjoyed a comfortable couple of days attending a wedding in Otterburn. The house was big enough for us and our son's family, well equipped, warm and comfortable. Although it was only a base to sleep in on this occasion, it is in a beautiful location and ideally situated to explore Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Highly reccomended!

Stayed in Heatherlea with my cousin, as two families each with two children. The structure of the house worked well for each of us being at one end of the house, and there were things for baby / little kids to use which helped. One proper cot, the other is a newborn size only. Stunning views across the moors, very efficient heating, lots of room for us all to spread out, and have 8 people sit round the table easily. A pretty good selection of kitchen items and crockery. Owners were reachable by text for any questions and able to sort out a minor problem promptly. Lovely duvets on the double beds and all beds were declared comfortable - my two children (10 & 7) slept like a dream every night! Just be aware there is a significant flight of stairs between one set of two rooms which works for older kids but less so for tiny ones. A very sweet welcome box with tea & coffee, and nice biscuits. Shop down the road is really well stocked with loads of stuff, and Otterburn Mill does great scones & cake.

Family Wedding
Stayed for 2 nights at this gorgeous cottage as attending wedding at Petit Chateau. Perfect location. Had lovely bbq in garden on first day before attending wedding the next day. Plenty of space & literally home from home amenities. All 7 adults in our party had amazing stay in very comfortable accommodation. Highly recommended xx

Very pleasant accommodation in the heart of Otterburn
We were attending a family wedding at Le Petit Chatau which was only a 3 minute walk away as accurately described by the owner. The accommodation was very clean and very well equipped with great views across the countryside. Can highly recommend.

Excellent property
We were only in Otterburn for 2 days to attend a wedding locally. The property offered everything we needed and was ideally situated. Our only regret was not being able stay longer to explore the surrounding area which was beautiful. The owner was extremely helpful.

Spacious, well equipped, comfortable lovely holiday rental.
Booked the cottage for the weekend as we were attending a wedding at "le petit chateau".
Accommodation exceeded our expectations, so spacious and well laid out. Lovely views across the fields. Beautiful master en-suite and three further bedrooms all tastefully decorated and excellently equipped catering for any family stay. Open fire gave extra character and cosiness to a cold dark night.
As a family of seven adults there was more than adequate seating and eating area spread over two living/dining rooms.
Parking for three cars, anyone staying during the summer would enjoy the garden, patio and BBQ area.
Would love to return for family weekend/gathering in the future.
Thank you for letting us rent your beautiful cottage. My husband said he would love to buy it as it had so much character.

Lovely Northumberland property
Lovely bungalow , perfect for 2 families due to the separation of the bedrooms. (Room for7 people in total) . Plenty of kids equipment- cots high chair, toys etc,. Great for attending weddings at Le Petit Chateau.

A very comfortable home from home.
On arrival we were greeted by a lovely gift pack and welcome card from the owner Susan.
We rented the cottage as our son was getting married at Petit Chateau. The cottage was within a couple of minutes walking distance of the venue.
The accommodation exceeded our expectations and can only be described as home from home.
My 93 yr old mother was with us and despite some problems with her mobility we managed well due to downstairs bathroom facilities next to her room.
Everyone in the party had their needs catered for throughout our stay.
The cottage is in a lovely peaceful location. It has lovely gardens and a sun terrace with open views. The very well stocked shop and cafe are within a couple of minutes walking distance.
Also Otterburn Mill is a pleasant stroll away for morning coffee and a browse in shop. Tourist information centre is there too.
Our accommodation contributed to our enjoyment of a wonderful day.
Communication with the owner was encouraged if we had any queries or requests.
We would certainly have no hesitation in recommending Heatherlea .

Fantastic property
We stayed here the night before my wedding at Le Petit Chateau. It's a fantastic place! Lots of space and beds, well maintained and great communication with Susan, the owner. She was very nice and really helpful. Would be great for a big family getaway, but it worked brilliantly for us as a base for the wedding party!

we had a week`s break to do some walking and sightseeing. the property is spacious and you have everything you need during our stay. the owners are helpful and gave good information and instructions. nice sun lounge and patio at the rear, and the accommodation level is first class

Lovely cottage for a family break
We had a lovely birthday celebration. Visited the observatory one night, had a lovely meal in the creperie the following night. The cottage has 4 good sized bedrooms and enough space for the whole family to relax. Would return tomorrow if we could.

Fabulous Cottage Fabulous Location
The cottage is very spacious and homely with great facilities and clean throughout and was even decorated for Christmas , Susan and Frank were very accommodating bringing us logs for the fabulous open fire on our first evening there , which was Christmas Eve , giving us information about the local pub and the village events over the Christmas period and leaving us a fabulous little Christmas hamper, the kitchen is well equipped and the oven , hob and microwave very easy to use as there are full instructions on hand full Christmas dinner was cooked and many other meals with ease during our stay ,there was also plenty of information in the cottage itself about the area and the surrounding areas , Great walks straight from the door our 2 Labs loved it !! the cottage is also very dog friendly one of the best we've stayed in . The cottage is right on the Otterburn Village trail walk, ans has great access to the Otterburn ranges where you can walk miles and not see a soul ,but only when the red flags are not flying or you could be in great danger !! Otterburn Mill is great to pop down and have a look around and also has a great cafe for lunches , the shop is open at very regular times and is very well stcoked . All in all Heatherlea is a fantastic place to stay and we would really recommend it to all , we hope to stay again in the furure .
