There was no one to check us in. Had to come back 2 hours later when the restaurant opened to get the key
We only stayed in this hotel as no water at home due to a renovation. No hot water to shower in the room. Rang a contact number 3 times (no answer), emailed no response and in the end had to attend a local gym to have a shower.

The hotel was central and had parking. The bedroom was big and the bed was comfortable but small. The shower was good.
The room needed updating in decoration and the bed was small. The breakfast left alot to be desired - cold coffee, inedible sausages.

This property is an old property and has a lot of character but it is not maintained well. so much could be done to make it a beautiful place to stay in but it is very neglected and their is no attention to detail and no customer service.
There is no reception area, o came in through the restaurant and was led through staff areas to access the stairs to the bedroom. The room was very dated and not in good condition, the curtain rails were hanging off the walls, the lamps were broken. There was a bath with a shower head but it was not possible to stand up in the shower as the ceiling was sloped too low. The handle on the bath was broken and sharp and a health and safety hazard
In the morning to access breakfast you have to leave by a side door onto the street and walk around the front of the street to access the door to the restaurant.
The staff didn’t approach me to ask if I would like to eat something or seem interested in serving, you have to ask for what’s available. The breakfast is very limited, 2 cereal options, a bowl of babybel cheese and an offer of a full English breakfast.
When I asked for a coffee I was told it was in a pot on a side table, o asked how long it was there and I was told 40mins. I asked for a fresh coffee and the server just sighed and walked away.
the next morning when I asked for fresh coffee she sighed once again and threw her eyes up.
it was utterly bizarre.

Central location
Being disturbed by some drunk kicking doors trying to get in at 4am. Lasted for an hour. The back stairs access to my room was not secure allowing anyone entry to my room door. This was quite scary, nearly called the police for help. Second night stay, despite paying 50% more for the room, we were denied breakfast. This was disappointing. Thankfully Weatherspoons is nearby. Room decor, carpets and furniture was worn out and tired. Slept ok despite the drunk guy. Very disappointed.

The location is excellent for the town centre.
The cooked breakfast was was very greasy. there was an old sofa and a disused toilet dotted around the outside of the premises.

No instruction for the air conditioning, I couldn't get it to work for more than a couple of minuets at a time, a shame as it was in the heat wave.
