Food was good
But hospitality at its worst
9.0
This is a very well kept historic building at the top of the hill in Shillong, surronded by forest with great views over the city. The rooms are large with very high celings, with warm dark wooden floors and wall panelling, furniture and pictures from the colonial era. The hotel is very clean and well run, the food excellent. The showers are hot and watre prewssure excellent, the wifi works great.
I stayed in the old building with beautiful rooms, high ceilings and colonial decor. The only issue is that the walls are thin, so you can hear everything going on in the resturant and bar across the courtyard, and in the neighboring rooms, thought it does get quiet by 10 pm. If you are a light sleeper this may bother you.

rooms isolated , expensive

Good food, beautiful location and extremely polite and helpful staff.
7.0
The property is quite big and beautiful with many types of rooms at different prices. Inside the premises there is a lot of place to walk around , multiple places to eat etc.
Facilities at the hotel are limited.

Breakfast and Dinner served in room...were very good
Its an old property...the Bathrooms need to match the Modern living for Luxory stay and match the price charged.
6.0
cleanliness and well maintained and staff
1. The bed was squeaky.
2. Not even a single mirror in the room
3. In the name of valley view, there was no view of the valley
3. Breakfast was not replenished when finished.
4. It’s not worth the price considering the above.
8.0
Calm, clean and exuding heritage
Room becomes cold and heater doesn’t help much
5.0
They didn't replenish the complimentary fruits and beverages supply everyday of our trip. This was disappointing considering we booked the Maharaja Heritage Wing Room (the most expensive of all). They should have replenished the supplies. It was difficult for them to book the Valley restaurant for us. Eventually we have to go there and find a table for ourselves.

There are very few things that I liked about the Hotel. It was great that the Hotel was out of the city chaos and there was peace and quiet. Just as the name the Hotel had a heritage feel to it and we really enjoyed the architecture and greenery in and around the property.
Staff: Some of the staff were very sweet but some were least interested and had a very bored look on their face and it didn't feel welcoming, The hotel was either short staffed or they didn't know how to manage the staff. We checked out early in the morning at around 6:30 and there was noone to help with our luggage. Finally we carried our luggage till the car. Also we had no idea where the breakfast was being served and found no one at the wing where we had our rooms to help us with. There was absolutely no staff there to help us. They have separate wings and restaurant where breakfast is served is at Gate 7. It took us quite sometime to figure out where to go and we finally went to the main reception where we were directed to the restaurant which was very irritating and disappointing.
Rooms: The Heritage Wing room had an old heritage feel but it wasn't clean like it should be. The bed made a squeaking noise whenever we turned. There was a peculiar smell in the bathroom. While the Valley View room was modern but it was also not upto the mark. Both the rooms were extremely cold and stale. The heater was useless and even the geyser did not work. We got hot water for 3 mins and then cold water gushed out. The hotel lacked in providing basic amenities. The Wifi didnt work most of the time. If we are paying 10K for this room then its a complete rip off.
Food: Not satisfied at all. In breakfast we hardly had any choices. The idli served was stale, hard and cold. In dinner too the options were very limited and not satisfactory as per taste.
Overall we were pretty disappointed and wont recommend this hotel to anyone for the money that they charge.

Overall a very good experience we had during our stay at 2nd week of Jan 2023.
The room heater could have been better for colder days.
4.0
Location, Breakfast was good
You cannot sleep in the room at Heritage wing because of constant buggy noise and noise from other vehicles and chitter chatter.
7.0
A beautiful property for a short get away from the city.
The rooms were alright, could've been better. The breakfast spread was average.
5.0
nice wooded area away from the traffic jams
very cold and drafty rooms with molds on the walls. very small room.

The service, the staff, the property were all very good.. the breakfast and food in general was excellent.
My room was in a very poor state, the walls were damp and discolored, for the kind of money I paid it was not worthwhile.. since it's at a distance from the city center there should be some pick and drop facilities I would expect
7.0
1. The feel and ambience of the property
2. Excellent breakfast at the Forest wing restaurant
3. Gracious and warm team
1. musty room with limited power sockets and inadequate seating for 2 people in the room.
2. Very delayed and low quality dinner service at the Valley View Restaurant
