The house was beautiful! Sofie was the best hostess ever. She made us feel like family. We will definitely be back!

The house was adorable and we were immediately welcomed and made to feel like home!! Sophie and Daisy Mae were WONDERFUL hosts. Breakfast was cooked to order with ridiculous quantities and Sophie was all about ensuring we had what we needed. Very home like environment.
Would be nice if downtown was walkable but it was just a short drive away.

The breakfast is made to order by Sophie and it could not be any better. There is private parking behind the house so you're not parked on the busy street. The location is only blocks from the waterfront and downtown, and you have easy access to nearby beach towns like Wrightsville Beach (15 minutes), Oak Island (35 minutes), and Ocean Isle Beach (45 minutes).

Beautiful old building within walking distance to the riverfront. Sophie the owner went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. She also made sure we never went hungry. We didn’t want to leave.

Sophie is great! She makes you feel welcome and is always available for questions and small talk. She seems to know everything about the Wilmington area.
Thanks to the set-up of the B&B, it feels like a temporary home when staying there.
It will also be impossible to leave this place with hunger: breakfast, snacks, ... you always get more food than you need.
Nothing.

The host, Sophie personifies Southern charm and hospitality. She never ceases to put her guests’ needs and desires at the forefront of her priority list as demonstrated in every facet and detail of the amenities. Sophie even surprised us with a special signature cheesecake for our anniversary—another mark of her thoughtfulness. The immaculate, beautiful historical home and garden only further reflect her astute attention to detail. The breakfast and snacks were delicious and plentiful. Everything about the experience said, “Welcome home!” We have stayed in B & B’s worldwide and we’d rank Port City Guest House among the best.

This was one of the best Bed and Breakfast experiences we have had. Immediately felt right at home and relaxed. The bedroom was wonderful, the food was delicious and the company was fantastic. We will be sure to stay again when we come back to Wilmington! It was my wife's birthday and Sophia made sure this was a birthday to remember for years to come!

Delectable breakfast! Mouthwatering French toast a huge hit. Sophie's hospitality added significant value to our trip. During breakfast, the other guests along with my significant other and I had meaningful, substantial dialogue that left us with something more to chew on upon our departure. The home is aesthetically pleasing, nicely furnished with vintage, Victorian pieces and colors. If you've been to one hotel, then you've been to them all. Why not try a bed and breakfast for a new experience! Highly recommended.
The other guests brought a dog. I think knowing this in advance would have been helpful. Fortunately, the dog was well-mannered.

The host Ms. Sophie is wonderful. Bring your appetite every morning as breakfast is amazing- fresh fruits, coffees, teas, juices, followed by made to order (your way) eggs, bacon, sausages, pancakes, French toast etc . Rooms are spacious, extremely clean and very comfortable. Location in Wilmington could not be beat. Close to river, restaurants, battleship beaches and shopping. My wife and I will definitely stay with Ms. Sophie again.

Breakfast was fabulous and our hostess went out of her way repeatedly to meet our needs.
Our bathroom was down the hall. I prefer the bathroom attached to our bedroom.

When you meet Sophie you're met by someone who makes you feel at home. She's so accommodating and boy can she put together a mean breakfast. She's too cool!!
I can't think of one negative thing to say about the facilities or staff. I'm definitely coming back.

The host provided a great breakfast on the 2 days that my husband and I were there. The serving area was set up very nicely, she is generous with servings and set up a beautiful table each morning.
The host is WONDERFUL! She is kind. Makes you feel welcome. So nice. Her kindness and hospitality make up for areas needing maintenance - but there were some issues. The bathroom sink and tub show rust and should be addressed. Decorations in bathroom could use a dusting. If its white and dingy, would not use - even if clean. Would not place clean bath towels next to toilet because of the overspray when you flush. The tub drainage needs to be looked at - the water started to back up when showering. Dollies on bedside/dresser showed stains and needed to be washed, replaced or not used. The velvet couch in the bedroom had visible hair all over it, a lint brush or vacuum would solve that issue. Would recommend a cleaning company to help with upkeep. But overall, the host is very nice and again, made us feel so welcome!

Everything at Port City Guest House was just perfect. Sophie is an amazing hostess. We felt extremely welcome, like visiting a dear friend! There were always snacks & drinks waiting for us. The homemade breakfasts were simply delicious. The whole house is immaculate! Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and had its own bathroom, however, the hall bathrooms were also spacious, lovely, and private. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back the next time we're in Wilmington. So much nicer than a hotel!
Not sure what could have been better. We had a wonderful time at Port City Guest House. No complaints at all. It was a very lovely place to stay.

Breakfast and afternoon refresh were above par. We visited several attractions in the area. Sophie had helpful information and was knowledgeable about the area.
Bathroom was quite adequate, and private though across the hall. Was not a problem for us, but some might have an issue. We enjoyed the charm of the old, well appointed home!

Excellent host!!! She explained the house layout, local events and attractions. We come to this area frequently and will always attempt to stay here. It felt like home!!!
The breakfast was ROCKING! Each one featured a different approach, with options for those who would just prefer fruit/yogurt. Us? We enjoyed the fresh meats, eggs and potatoes!!
Parking was private and off street. We can't wait to see the garden area in full bloom come spring.
Thank you for allowing us into your home.
See you soon!

Beautiful home decorated with antiques was spotless. We were greeted when we arrived with a spread of food, wine or anything else we'd like. Location is walking distance to all the attractions. I can't say enough positive words about what a wonderful, kind host and experience throughout our stay. We will definitely go back.
Trip wasn't long enough.
