Convenient location close to the beach, whimsical decorations, facilities were spotless. Big roof terrace and free beach gear to borrow though didn’t get to use much of either with one night’s stay. Not social, but staff seemed friendly.
There was almost no natural light in the room,?just one tiny window high up. The shower in the room was convenient but also made the room extremely humid, and I didn’t get much sleep as a result. No space to move around and nowhere to sit in the room, unlike what’s pictured.

I liked how close the hostel was to the beach. I also appreciate that it provided the space for our clothes to dry.
The smell of old wood when entering the bedroom. A sudden change of the door code without any prior notice. Stuffy, hot interiors. No room service (bins, fresh towels, cleaning).

The place is cozy and comfortable, and a 2 minute walk from the beach. Very well equipped kitchen, and a peaceful rooftop terrace.

There are cool things in hostel like: shared kitchen on the roof tarrace and some free stuff you can use like spices, sugar, oil. Wifi in the room was good for remote work, on the roof top it was breaking but still ok. Free beach towel, sun umbrellas, hats. Generally cool beach summer vibe, friendly staff.
Based on many good opinions I didn't think much and booked the room, unfortunately this place is full of cocroaches. You will not see them at first but I stayed 1 week and could see everything clear. As soon as you turn off the light at night you can hear them walking in the room and when I turn on the light I could see them on wooden bed headboard behind my head...
I informed the reception, they are aware of the problem and they say they apply some sprays. They changed my room to different one but in my old room the next day was already another guest. Using argument that "it is canary islands and it is common to see cocroaches" is invalid, I've been in several places on these islands and never had similar experiance where I had to sleep with the light on (horrible experiance) I guess the less you know the better you sleep... but if you don't want to sleep with cocraches - this is warning for you.
Giving such a low grade as for the place with cocraches the grade (over 8!) and price is way too high.

The staff was helpful and welcoming. It’s the only positive side of my stay at Cactus hostel
1. There was NO HOT WATER during our stay. Nobody could fix this problem. I talked to other guests and they told that this problem started long ago. So my mother and I couldn’t have a shower after hot Canarian day. They should have told us in advance, so I would book another hotel.
2. Our room had a strong smell of humidity.
3. We had very dim lights, so I had to search for a lamp outside to read.
Search for another place if you can.

Quirky decor, great location, our room was a nice size and very simple and effective check in process. The rooftop was a great addition too. We loved it.
Our room had no window so was very dark, so maybe just some more lights as it was abit like a cave in the day.
We also had no hot water for the entire trip, so this was uncomfortable when showering.

Safe and quiet accomodation. its located very centrally and has a nice rooftop with access to a kitchen and washing machines.
the room gets a bit wet and stuffy because of the shower inside without ventilation and its rather small.

The beds were a bit small for us as friends and not partners but we managed. We were missing some space indoors to relax, as it was getting dark on time and not much space available in the room to chill.

Staff were very friendly and accomoodating. The place was always clean and smelled good. There's two small kitchens, a rooftop and an items (ie. Beach towels, umbrella, swim stuff, books) that were free to be used and shared.
The place was very close to the beach, restaurants and cafe. Close to the main bus station which was handy when traveling to other towns. Rooms were also clean and comfortable
Rooms were not soundproofed, you can sometimes hear snoring and people being loud at night or early morning. A little bit outdated, could do with some renovations but it was charming

Well I liked the smell,it always smelt of clean laundry and that's because there is washing facilities you can use any time. Also it had a fully kitted out kitchen, thus enabling me to stick to budget. It's also only a 5 minute stroll to the main bus station to a lot of towns and cities. The room was very comfortable and also it was quiet at night.
I haven't anything to complain about
