Everything was perfect! Rachel is the most wonderful host you could ever wish for, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing, one of the best we’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, either made by her or locally sourced. Beautiful fruit, scrambled egg, bread, cheese, meats, cake & her superb home made jams. She gave us restaurant recommendations and sightseeing tips. She is the most cheerful, kind person and we were very sad to leave.

Absolutely charming and beautifully presented accommodation in a great location (a grand old house in a quite residential area) for visiting Colmar. Rachel was wonderfully attentive - always keen to assist with finding restaurants and ensuring that we had exactly what we wanted for breakfast (with homemade bread, jams etc). Nothing was too much trouble.
We loved it all.

Everything was perfect from the moment that we arrived. Rachel is the most amazing hostess and we were made to feel like old friends from the moment that we arrived. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented every morning.
We will most definitely be returning for another visit.

Rachel welcomes you into her home and you are treated like an old friend, however you still have your privacy. The attention to detail and the home made & home grown produce was exceptional. The location is perfect for exploring Colmar, which is a really beautiful town. We have never stayed in accommodation like this before, the house is truly beautiful. We will be back. Thank you

Exceeded all expectations!
Rachel is wonderful, attentive, and very passionate.
The room is beautiful and very clean.
Breakfast was simply outstanding, with local cheeses, homemade marmalades and bread, fruit, and much more!
The location is very convenient, very close to the train station.

Rachel was delightful, welcoming, and delighted in providing a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. The decor was over the top, the breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented. We would have been happy to stay many more days.
Castelnau was very close 0.4 miles to the old city. However due to the unfortunately inclement weather and a slight mobility problem, walking there, around, and back in the rain was a bit trying for me, a senior.

This is not a hotel. It is so much more! A beautiful home and Rachel made us feel like royalty! Her breakfast was the most beautifully presented meal, that included home made breads, jams, honey from her family's hives, strawberries from her back garden and so much more. We became friends and her hospitality set the bar for an amazing stay. A 10 minute walk and you are in Petite Venice in Colmar / short walk to the train station. I would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful town in this stunning home.

We loved everything about the property. From the location on a quiet street in Colmar, near a beautiful park with a rose garden smelling divine, to the beautiful building itself, a villa full of old, beautifully restored details by Rachel, the owner. To the comfort of the room itself and, above all, the care and attention to every detail provided by Rachel. We felt spoilt by her. Each morning the breakfast on the front porch was a fresh surprise of berries and flowers picked from the garden, as well as local products of the highest quality, locally grown or home made.

Staying at Castelnau is not like staying at a B&B, it is like being a house-guest at a good friend’s house. Rachel, the host, is so welcoming and we were greeted like we were old friends – even though we had not met and only communicated via the Booking.com website.
There is only one guest room and it is large, light and airy. It is quaintly decorated and furnished. The on-suite facilities are separated from the bedroom by just a curtain - this was a little strange at first, but once we got used to it everything was fine.
Breakfast was superb – the best we have had in France. There was home-made fresh fruit salad, home-made bread with a selection of jams and preserves, a good choice of cold meats and cheeses, fruit juice and a choice of tea or coffee. It was as plentiful as it was good.
The B&B is situated on a relatively quiet street just a 15-minute walk from Little Venice and the old town with its array of bars and restaurants.
Leaving!

Truly above and beyond. Rachel treated us to her beautiful and unique home; she designed everything in it, and it is one-of-a-kind. Two days in a row she created the best breakfasts I have had in my life. She is kind and gracious. I can't recommend it enough.
Nothing at all.

Rachel was an incredible attentive and friendly host, making a beautiful breakfast every day, as well as suggesting nice places and being there for a friendly chat. The house likewise is above-average, it's an interior you have never seen in a B&B, that I can guarantee :-)

Amazingly and thoughtfully decorated. So personal and different from a hotel, even a very good one! Breakfasts were wonderful- not just the food but the presentation too which turns the meal in to a magnificent feast. Host was very caring and put up with our inability to speak French.
The curtain rather than a door on the en-suite takes some getting used to!

Great experience and Rachel was a great host. Very recomendable.
