Beach was great for snorkelling, room was excellent value for money, location was very good in respect to snorkelling.
Hotel itself was great, little bit dissappointed in Amed itself, a footpath on the street needs to run right along the road to make walking easier, beach not the easiest to walk on.

When we walked out of the room, we immediately entered the garden. from our large patio, we could overlook the whole premise. garden, restaurant and ocean. we could hear the ocean from within our room
The door lock was an old-fashioned lock; you needed two hands to open or close it. But if that is all.........

The room was spacious & comfortable, I loved it's quaint charm.
Tea waiting on my verandah each morning was a delight, made better with the view straight to the ocean!
Staff were warm, welcoming, helpful and the food was simply DELICIOUS!
Morning snorkel and evening swim were the perfect way to start/end my days.

We booked Blue Star for the snorkelling location, were not disappointed it’s right out front just a few steps.
Had ocean view room, simple clean and comfortable. Love the coffee delivery on patio every morning. Addicted to pineapple pancakes for breakfast. Every meal we had was good.
Walk out to beach early morning turn left head around the point and you will see Agung in full glory. In the evening head up the hill behind Blue Star to Joli Best View for lovely sunset with a cold beer.
The staff are lovely.
Special thanks to Darmi and Iluh for making our stay so welcoming.
If you have time add Lahangan Sweet to your stay, either sunrise or sunset it’s well worth it.

Probably our best stay in Bali! Staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is amazing. This is where are the tours go to go snorkeling... in front of this hotel. the restaurant is solid and can serve good non-spicy food! We stayed 4 nights and didn't really leave except to walk 3 minutes to Blue Earth Village (every night) for great food and an amazing mountain and sunset view. We normally cram a lot into a few days, but there's no need to go anywhere when you're already at the best place!
Not everything worked in the room (a little dated), but the staff were great at trying to fix everything, and at these prices, the rooms were huge. road/town noise can be loud if you stay near the back

The Bungalows are amazing ....absolutely on the beach - just step into the water and enjoy the snorkling!
We had a family room ( which has some steep stairs to the top bedroom) but the beds were really comfy , air-conditioned worked and it was clean. Great value!
Extra bonus: a Thermos of hot water, cups and tea will magically arrive on your balcony each morning :)

Perfect location and staff were amazing. We're going back! Darmi and her staff are so wonderful.
Better pillows would be great, but if that's the worst thing, get over it, I definitely recommend everything about this place.

Excellent location for snorkelling!
Can’t get any closer to Jemeluk beach and the underwater temple.
We had a family room which was spacious and had a view of the ocean too!
We had both dinner and breakfast, the food was delicious.
A bit ‘tired’ but everything was clean and staff were lovely.

The location was excellent and the staff were wonderful. The facilities are a little tired and could use some love, but overall a great value for the cost. The restaurant was right on the beach and a great spot to spend the day and evening. Plus, the best part was the amazing reef just in front of the hotel that you could explore from beach! Overall a great little gem for the price. Highly recommend
The facilities could use a little upgrade but for the price it was a great value.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We've been fully nomadic for over a year and sometimes we just need to stay put, work, plan, etc. and some daily snorkeling wouldn't hurt! The staff is so friendly and welcomed us like family. Our airport transfer went well, the room met expectations, and the reef is lovely. Even in the middle of rainy season we had some sunshine here and there and a few days of nice visibility in the water. We never left the property because the restaurant is convenient with good variety of options and fair prices. The location is impossible to beat with direct beach access and the reef just below. We loved it and would stay again!
Our toilet did not have the attached sprayer which seems typical in this region, but no big deal.

Surprised by how nice this hotel is...large almost colonial Asian style...great surrounding pool and garden...pool table, table tennis...great breakfast, great value...

The staff. The most helpful and friendly we have come across in our travels through Bali.
some exposed wiring across pathway - during torrential downpour looked dangerous

welcoming staff, great location for snorkeling and relaxing on beach.
Amed beach in general needs to be cleaned up. The plastic rubbish along the beach is upsetting. fortunately it’s not as bad near Blue Star.

Location, right on the beach for some of the best snorkeling. Great cafe, and rooms had everything you need. Clean. Loved the coffee and tea brought to the room daily. Could have stayed longer.

Ideally located for snorkeling, very clean rooms, beach lounge chairs in good state, staff extremely helpful and friendly, rooms bright and spacious.
While ideally located for snorkeling, it is 2km away from everything else. But with a scooter no problem

The location was amazing, right on the beach of one of the most sought after snorkelling places in Ahmed. The Coral and fish life is abundant and amazing. Petiole were playing for snorkelling and diving tours to come to this location and it was at our door step.
The staff were amazing and Dharmi will definitely take care of you with lots of ideas for any sightseeing in the area. Definitely coming back.

Location right on the beach for snorkeling is outstanding. There are lounges to use on the beach and the restaurant is open breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff are lovely; a friendly family run place. Appreciated having the flask of hot water and coffee delivered at 6:30am to our balcony.
Furniture and bathroom are old style but perfectly servicable. A bit of a drain smell at times in the bathroom but you can keep the door shut and it was cleaned each day.

I loved the location, the second room I was in was comfortable and clean. They staff were very helpful.
The first room I was put in was old and quite dirty. The room also had a bad smell. After I brought up my concerns they moved me to a different room which was a lot better.

Interaction with the staff was amazing, food was good & very close to ferry if you happen to be going to Lombok or Gili Island's. Loved our stay in Amed.
Showers could do with a little tlc, you could have a hot shower but I think the shower rose could do with replacing.

Friendly family atmosphere. A home away from home. Exceptional value.
Best snorkling on Bali.

the accommodation is a basic but comfortable, the staff where amazing, they did not have kettles in the rooms, so they delivered thermos of tea a coffee each morning and we sat on the balcony to start the day. Nothing was too much trouble, the truly assisted us for the duration of the stay
Don't really need a bath in the bathroom, better to have a open shower, bath very old and marked. but my biggest issue was the bath towels they were horrible, very hard, did not like at all. Upgrades to the bathroom would greatly improve guest comfort at this unique little gem.

'Come as a visitor, leave as a friend ' is their motto and that's exactly what we felt. So welcoming and accomodating.
The view, food and drinks, out of this world.
THE PERFECT PLACE TO RELAX

An absolutely fabulous location for relaxing on the beach and snorkeling. Easy beach access for snorkeling at the reef and underwater temple. The room was comfortable and lovely. The warung was delicious. The staff were so helpful and kind. Iluh the masseuse at their spa across the street was incredible. Everything there was perfect and all I needed, so I never left the property for anything…making for an amazing relaxing beach stay.

Beautiful location in Jemeluk Bay. Fabulous terrace where the staff put a thermos of hot water every morning for coffee. Then a wonderful breakfast of fruit and homemade bread and jam. ( omelette if you wish)..
Snorkel after breakfast in front of the bungalows.
Cleaner shower?

As a family, we really loved the open two story room with the kids staying up the stairs and being able to see us below while we got some privacy as well. The staff is fantastic and warm water and coffee/tea is brought to the balcony every morning before anyone wakes up. Breakfast was great - lovely pancakes and fresh fruit. The snorkling form the bay is amazing (go in high-tide though - reef can be tricky). A bonus is to ask the staff for fresh caught fish and have them grill it for you on the beach at a cheap price (not on menu but common along the warungs on the beach - especially recommend the Mahi-Mahi).
The medical clinics and hospital nearby aren't great. Suffering from a bacterial blood poisoning (cut on dead corals at beach edge) I had to tell the doctors what to do. Nothing with the hotel though - they were so concerned and there all the way. Amazing staff and people!

This is a very relaxed and absolutely comfortable accommodation. Entrance to property might be a bit discouraging, but don't be put off by a first glance. Our ;bungalow' was probably a size of 100 square metres, simple but spotless clean. Restaurant with a wide ocean view, beach umbrella and chairs reserved for you.
We loved the place, as regardless of time you woke up, you could simply march to the sea snorkelling for a new adventure...Great snorkelling just directly in front of Blue Start Cafe, no currents. They are renting all snorkelling sets, or parts if you are in a need of one. You are in a need of laundry service or massage, no problem, you'll get it on spot.
Food is simple but tasty, they really do care for you. We very much enjoyed selection of fresh fruit here.
This is not a resort, don't expect night parties. This is a family run place where you can relax with your kids and get a touch of local life.
that we stayed just 2 nights...
