I liked the manager Matthew he was very nice!
The overpriced food. One pool you had to buy something to end get in the pool.

Property was nice. Enjoyed the friendly staff. Everyone was very helpful in making sure we knew how to get around the island.
Sounds of nature chirping early in the morning lol.

The location was great and rooms nice.
The bed was too soft that I have back issues. The bird banged on my roof every morning at 5am because there was a nest on the tree. The price for food was not Belizean. I was always short of a towels.

The property was just ok.
Lots of things.
I didn’t understand why we got tap water in bottles. Not bottled water.
There were ants in our room.
I was extremely upset that the beach was not on the property. The pictures are deceptive. They imply the door of the cottages opens to a private beach ok
The boat to the private beach did NOT provide life jackets to the people on the boat during the ride to and fro the private beach.
I had one meal, which was breakfast. Avocado toast. It was tasteless.
The property was expensive. But generally, everything is Belize was expensive.

- Private beach club just a 10min boat ride away. Super cute set up with everything you need for a fun time at the beach (Cabanas, loungers, paddle boards..)
- Comfortable bed & efficient AC
- Coffee shop
- Pool
- Restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner options
- Good drinks (variety)
- Nice & friendly (very professional) staff
- Clean facilities
- Good massages
That I didn't know earlier about this place! We were so disappointed in other hotels in the area.

The cottages were beautiful.
The food was disappointing and there was nowhere else to eat, as you are a long way from the town.

The service, the place and the beach club
Having to travel to the beach club and the fact they had limited beach beds

Mahogany Bay Resort rates as average compared to other hotels that I visited. There are some pros about the hotel I enjoyed. The breakfast was a plus. I suggest trying the flap jacks. The resort has selected exceptional waiters and waitresses. The security/drivers are available to take visitors anywhere on the site, just request the driver with the front desk. The rooms are clean. The resort is relatively quiet. They are practicing sustainability, which is a plus. Housekeeping only cleans the room by request with the front desk, so no awkward interruptions occur when I was resting. The concierge was helpful with finding the perfect event according to my budget. loved snorkeling in the Barrier Reef and swimming with sharks. Oh, I can’t forget the private beach on the resort. It is relaxing and chilling beach. Overall, Mahogany Bay Resort is okay if you are looking for clean and safe resort.
The main issue I had with the resort was the front desk needs to be elevated. Upon arrival there is no greeting. The hotel did not provide a welcome drink or towel to refresh your hands. There is no personalize message to guest. There is a generic card as a welcome note to visitors. I requested reservations for a restaurant in town by the front desk, upon arrival I provided my name to be told I had no reservations. There is no sample size lotions provided by the hotels in the rooms. I feel my comments are fair based on the fact that other resorts provide those simple features with their service to vistors.

Liked the coffee shop (for breakfast) and the Taco Shack.
The private beach was actually much nicer than I expected.
The excursion for snorkelling was very memorable - and a highlight of our vacation.
I didn't like the pool bar - with the loud music and rather unhelpful bar tenders. One or two waiters were however very good.
The resort was a little over-priced in my view.
We lost power and water to our accommodation a couple of times - which was a little uncomfortable.

Townhouse and swimming pool
The organization is poor and the guest customer service is not adequate to situation. The site has a lot of construction activity and we ended up in a townhouse with workers beside constructing another property with early wake up with chatting , operating cutting machine , hammer and the property did absolutely nothing . Private beach is fully haunted of sea lices , as soon as you enter you are attacked from hundreds of them . Zero comfort . Good quality with exception of few plates is very low and bad

Cabana style, aesthetically appealing and the private beach club. Professional and friendly stay.
Elevated prices for cabanas & food (not much of food selection at the Verandah). The room AC blew directly on the bed/head. No closets. Short staffed.

The staff was excellent. I was there while there was still construction, however the construction did not bother me during my stay.
It would help if there was a place onsite where food is available later than 9pm.

The floor of our room wasn't clean. It had dirt or sand on it. I wish it had a full length mirror in the room hard to see with the mirrors so high in the bathroom.

I enjoyed the property being away from the fast life of the island. away from the main road and noise.
Don’t have anything negative to say to be honest.

everything I had an amazing time staff was so welcoming we will return
The Martini bar the male bartender was so rude to woman but keep in mind it’s not owned by the property.

not much
overpriced for what I would call a cabin with no view. the shower was a tin can. The Latin night taco night for 3 adults and a kid was $248 USD. I thought that was absurd. There was no iron in the room and I had little ants in my bathroom. there are no glass or insulated windows so others can hear everything in your cabin/hut whatever you want to call it.
4.5 / 5.0
I liked the atmosphere and how safe I felt as a solo traveler with security being on the premises at all times
Having to pay extra for things on the beach and given a time limit , such as the over the water bed

loved everything offered especially the private beach!
no wardrobe mirror in the room was a challenge. having to wait to go to the bathroom to see self in those mirrors was not ideal and also not accessible when bathroom was in use by the other occupants of the room.

the private beach was beautiful and the food was great
Hello I just checked out of your resort yesterday. I have a few concerns & complaints I need addressed! I was a guest for two nights & paid almost $700 USD. The water only stayed hot for 5-10 minutes MAXIMUM! Then the water goes cold! That’s unacceptable. I asked it someone could come turn the ceiling fan off as I could not find how to turn it off. No one ever came & I was freezing cold my entire stay & at night while trying to sleep. & it was so disappointing not having a microwave in my room so all my left over food went to waste. & pasty the resort doesn’t have a single ATM machine for guest to withdrawal money for their vacation. I was really disappointed with my stay as I was so excited!

This resort was simply amazing!!
Loved everything about it! The food, the great spacious rooms, soft beds, the location, all the amenities, but above all that the STAFF!! The Staff was incredible, from the Bartenders, Yesenia, Oscar, to the servers Pearl, Tyron, Raquel and Miguel, to the omelet station Hortense, Shantil. To the porter Dennis and everyone who's names I can't remember. They were the ones who made the trip soooo AMAZING!!
I LOVED EVERYTHING. IT WAS PERFECT!

I enjoyed eating at the Verandah for breakfast and dinner. The Sushi restaurant was also very good. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent service. Wonderful people work at Mahogany Bay.
The only thing that I can think of is that the floor in our little cottage had dirt in the corners. I know I’m being picky here. Everything that we asked for from housekeeping was done in a timely manner. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Air conditioned room, great shower and shower products, loved the look of the resort (style, color palette, furnishings), great pool, great food/drinks
The mattress was a little firm for our preference, the information on the tv (menus, resort info) was hard to read (small print)

The property was lovely! Great options for a variety of food, everything is clean and easy to get to. The private beach with complementary boat ride to get there is a great bonus!
Although we really enjoyed the facilities, the staff was terrible. We booked a room that included free breakfast and this was not honored when we arrived. The staff were not helpful with any information regarding the facility or things to do on the island. They even provided false costs/travel times to make their taxi services seem more desirable than alternate transportation. We had our own plans and did our own research so it did not significantly impact our trip but we were very surprised with the quality of customer service.
