Friendly yoga-place close to all different beaches in Ahangama.

Great atmosphere and nice staff. Situated close to many different beaches and places to go to in Ahangama and around. Great with the possibility to do yoga everyday. Very good and diverse breakfast.

We liked everything but The yoga could have started earlier, like 7am.

After 16 trips to this area - This is the best place I have ever stayed at.

To put some perspective this is my 16th trip to Sri Lanka and the first time with a child. So I really know the different types of accommodation options available in this area. I was genuinely blown away by Nuga House. Just everything from the communications knowing we won’t be arriving until 1am, the big rooms, the little touches like lots of board racks to store your surf boards, outside showers so you don’t bring the sand into the room, food options, lots of storage in the rooms to organise yourself properly without it overtaking the room space, a yoga studio which I used to stretch between surf sessions, beyond friendly staff - they literally spoilt our daughter everyday. Plus the fact you are a 6 minute walk from a world class wave at Kabalana. The owner Ari is a kind and no mess about gentlemen and the girls handling the food and beverage plus bookings were exceptional. My family and me are beyond grateful with the way Nuga house took care of us. We plan to come back every year now and stay longer next time.

the vibe, in house yoga classes, food was good. staff was always helpfull in everything. music selection in the hotel was top. the location near Kabalana (Best overall Beach) was perfect.

there could be a Beach towels in the room and one for the showers on the ground.

Exceptional

We stayed in The Nuga House for four nights and at the end of our stay we didn't want to leave. It's the perfect place to stay in Kabalana, just 3 minutes away from the beach and very close to Ahangama. It's a small boutique hotel with only 6 rooms, an outdoors common area and beautiful gardens and a pool to relax on. The rooms are big, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everything was clean and well maintained. The breakfast was amazing. They have so many options to choose from and all of the food is really fresh and tasty. The staff were super nice and helpful. They have daily yoga lessons in an amazing yoga shala overlooking its green and quiet surroundings. If you ask for it they can also arrange surf lessons for you. Overall we had an amazing experience and would definitely love to go back.

Very good

I recently stayed at a place that I absolutely loved! The room was spacious and had a really unique rustic concrete interior design, which gave it a cool and stylish vibe. But the highlight of my stay was definitely the breakfast. I highly recommend trying the Shakshuka - my partner and my friend loved it so much, we made it at home after. Overall, my experience was fantastic and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay with a delicious breakfast.

I found the pool to be small and not very clean, and the price a little steep. However, overall my stay was decent.

A lovely place, great staff, great breakfast. A bit remote from the main buzz.

Wonderful breakfast, lovely staff. Great to have the option of a nice Late coffee and alternative milk, even if you have to pay for it.

The family room setting could be better as 3 beds are together forming a giant bed and one single bed next. So it was a bit weird for our daughter to be sleeping so close to us. The room is nice but a bit small, bathroom on the other end is very large. Hot shower only for the first one! The location is a bit away from the main buzz so walking or tuk tuk is necessary to go out.

A perfect place to stay to experience Ahangama

Neus and her team (especially her friendly dog Tigger) we perfect hosts, we couldn’t have asked for more. Great atmosphere, good food, nice yoga facilities along with having connections with great surf coaches. We enjoyed our stay at Nuga house so much that we booked into their sister property Venus villa.

Amazing place to start our four week vacation in Sri Lanka, we stayed for a week and everything was great! The staff is so lovely and can help out with recommendations of restaurants etc. the breakfast is amazing and the rooms have everything you need!!😃 we will definitely be back

Very nice staff and help with everything we wanted. Tuk tuk drivers are available and nice. Very clean, excellent rooms and an atmosphere of fun and relaxation in the air. highly recommend. Close to surfing beaches, restaurants and clubs. we loved.

Superb

The hosts Neus and Avi were great - super helpful and friendly. Helped us organise whatever we needed. Rooms are clean and as advertised. The included breakfast (+coffee/tea) from 8-2pm was excellent.

Could use some hanging racks/lines for wet clothes. There could be more places to sit outside/in the sun. Some afternoon yoga would be great!

Nice and really welcoming place especially at this price point.

As it was quite rainy when we came, hooks and lines in the room would have been useful in order to hang all the swimsuits, towels and clothes that needed to dry.

gorgeous space! really felt relaxed the whole time. the food is delicious, the pool is great, and the dogs are so friendly.

it’s a bit far away from certain things in the area, but you can get to anything with a cheap Tuk Tuk.

Good breakfast, near surfing spot

Arrived at the hotel empty with no staff, we had to ask neighboors around and waited 45min before being welcome. - without excuse or kind Words. We did not felt welcome.

Better value for money elsewhere on the island with better service and hygiene

Unfortunately there’s very little to like at Nuga house

I didn’t like anything unfortunately. It really pains me to give a bad a review as I know the impact it has on a business but it’s only fair others don’t fall into the same trap. It is extremely dirty and noisy. I was initially booked for 2 nights but had to check out early due to noise and cleanliness. Also Both fan abs ac were not working.

past it’s best days and over priced for what it was.

great host who ran the place as we came in and the food was lovely. if she owned it the place would be a success.

past it’s best and dirty and the owner who sat in the corner was quite intimidating along with his huge Great Dane dogs who patrolled the place. one of which left a large poo on our front porch in the morning.

Place to be 👍

A hidden gem in Kalabana/Ahangama area. Quite spacious, elegantly simple rooms, fantastic kitchen and the most laud back atmosphere on the south coast. Everything is just natural and easy going here. Yoga lessons in the morning, easy access to the beach. The whole crew is cool, calm and collected, full of smiles. Try the fruit+curd or shakshuka for breakfast and you’ll never want to leave this place!

Nice stay at The Nuga House but not exeptionnal

The Nuga House is a cute boutique hotel, nicely decorated with great food.

My friend and I booked 2 rooms but when we arrived, they had only one room booked on their system so he had to stay in another room for the night (they offered him the first night) and then they found a room for him in one of the villa. Other than that, our stay was great. I just find it expensive for what you get.
