Location
Friendly staff
Nice comfy room.
Being kept awake by other guests arguing from 11.45pm police were called and, talking in the hallway then more disruption until 5.30am so hardly any sleep.

We were shown to our room. Great personal touch. Room was very comfortable. Prices in the bar were great.
Food service finished quite early.

Great location, super close to Bowlees Visitor Centre which was our next stop. Ample parking for our two cars in front and behind. Our room had a large loft bathroom. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room luxurious, but it was nice and cosy. Pub was pretty quiet, no noise issues at all.
Not really an issue with the room at all, but dinner options around are limited and close quite early. Hotel opposite looked nice but was fully booked, so definitely book ahead as there aren't many shops or other food options.

The location was good. Middleton in Teesdale is a very chracterful village.
No breakfast, which was a surprise, especially seeing that only one of the three cafes in the place that did breakfast opened on the morning we were there. It was obvious that a lot of money had been spent some years back bringing the accommodation up to a high standard. I got the impression that they were not making enough money to enable them to maintain it at that standard. Both Middleton in Teesdale and the adjacent Barnard Castle seem to practically close down on a Monday night, so the choices of places to eat is very small. The

Efficient & friendly staff. Warm and comfortable. Great location too.

Great food - staff very patient as my guest was severely delayed and they kept his food warm long after the restaurant has closed.
No breakfast so had to wait for cafes to open before I could set off hiking

in lovely village with good access to where we wanted to walk
dated bathroom - needs new grouting in tiles and new shower door seal.
the restaurant was closed but this wasn’t apparent when we booked

nice locations we’ll set out
room was not clean, shower had clearly just been used when we got to our room.
Saturday night was horrendous. we could hear the bar music and people in there untill 2am and we’re unable to sleep or even hear the tv that didn’t even work well.
Saturday morning after our first night there we were both covered in bites and lumps, Sunday morning we woke up with even more! these are ridiculously itchy and painful!

Excellent food, great service

Nice friendly welcome. Room was lovely with a bed that soft it feels like it's giving you a hug when you lie in it. French restaurant with the most divine food. I had French onion soup and a veal dish I can't remember the name if but it was awesome. Will definitely stay there again.

Food was amazing and better than any French cooking I've had in a city centre restaurant. Drinks were really reasonably priced and there was a great selection

restaurant was great. Food and service good.
Our room was directly above the bar and the extremely loud head banging music went on until 01:30 . Basically , this room should not be let if music is to be played into the early hours. We got no sleep. Bed too small and we aren't large! Up stairs to the " en-suite bathroom " ? On site car park advertised , where ? No advice given on check in . Nobody to talk to on check out . Full refund please.

The location
A bit noisy - darts night combined with St Patrick's Day

lovely little place nice and clean. ideally placed for some lovely walks
it was all nice

We loved the location, the friendliness of the staff and the room was warm and comfortable with good amenities.
The meal at the restaurant was fabulous. It's a French restaurant and the menu reflects this with classics ranging from French onion soup to coq au vin but with plenty of other choices and light bites. Highly recommend the pate and the beef stroganoff as well as the seafood vol au vent. Superb choice of wines, many by the glass which was welcome.
It's a shame they don't provide breakfast, but we were made aware of this and there is a tea room in the village so easy to book a table so it wasn't a problem.
Not sure if parking would be so easy in busy times.
These are minor issues as this is a super location for a one or two nights.

comfy bed
room stunk of stale smoke and there were darts on that evening where people were eating directly under the room. the noise did not die down until past midnight and we had to open the windows given that the room stunk of smoke (I’m asthmatic and had to puff my inhaler). horrible nights sleep and definitely will not return again.

Location good staff good and helpful.
The shower in room 7 did not work.
The duvet did not fit the bed. Needs a larger quilt on the bed in room 7.
Charged same price for b&b although there was no breakfast

Lovely stop over, perfect for walks in Teasdale. Busy but friendly pub, good parking and in a lovely little town. Comfortable room.
No breakfast is provided (at cost or not) but there’s a coop very nearby to prepare for this, so not really an issue.

The food in the restaurant
The room was so-so, not very comfortable bed, and could soon use a refurbishment

It was handy for travelling to the area I was wanting to visit. Room was lovely and pleasant
Room was cold, and the en suite bathroom was up some stairs, and not very well lit up. Was no breakfast available or evening meal despite it being a French Restaurant
