The location was excellent for our purposes and ideal for access too the centre of Durham. It was very clean and warm on arrival.
The WIFI didn’t work and the Sky wasn’t working with no info in the info pack about this. The info pack in general was a bit light on info around some of the facilities available and how to use the. It would also be helpful if the WIFI code was added to the info pack rather than just by the front door.

- The kitchen was well equipped
- There were many rooms and beds in the house.
- There was a toilet smell in the main bedroom. We stayed eight days. We could only use the main bedroom for one day because of the smell. The smell was not coming from the toilet but the house next door and was unbearable.
- When we entered the main door of the house, we saw there is another locked door. We waited almost 40 minutes for someone from the staff to bring the key.
- When we were able to enter the house, we saw that the heaters were not working. We operated the heating system with the instructions given by someone from the staff over the phone. It was a complex process.
- It was a business trip. I asked for an invoice to be issued on behalf of the company. The host company sent us a credit card slip by e-mail. I called the Booking.com support line. They called the host company. After a lot of texting and phone calls, we got the bill. I don't understand the reason for not wanting to give an invoice?

All requirements met for a short stay in my home town with our adult kids. 20mins walk from Durham centre. All appliances were clean and worked, WiFi good, beds good...what else is there?

The propery was not Dalton Crescent which had suffered a maintenance issue. Instead we were transferred to 43 Highgate, Durham. This property was centrally placed and easy of access to the town centre.
Access to the city centre was through an area of considerable rowdyism, possibly football related. More detailed instructions for the control of the central heating (too hot) and for use of the television would have been helpful.
Booking.com advertised the original property at £500 reduced from £555. However, we were finally charged the full £555 and the matter was not staisfactorily resolved when I phoned Booking.com to draw attention to the anomaly. This issue has still to be further pursued with Booking.com

By walking the location is not far away from the center, big enough for big family, well equipped, clean. It is the best that I stayed in.
No bus stop nearby

For us, this was a great location, just beyond the main city so easy road links to attractions outside The city. Easy to get into the city and car parking plentiful. The keys were easy to collect, lovely to not have to vacate until 11:00 on departure day, WiFi signal quick and reliable, towels provided... we had a great stay here.
It was cold in the downstairs room, but this isn’t necessarily a negative comment... just depends on the English weather! Parking is plentiful, but the neighbours are grumpy if you stray within three feet of their garden gate. No fault of the property owners though.
