The house is tucked away enough to be peaceful and spacious enough to give everyone a little breathing room. Grethe was a wonderful host. Everything was clean and functional.

Our family of four, including 2 children, stayed in this gite for 2 weeks while we explored Provence. The property was in a great location, just around the corner from the boulangerie. It was a great jumping off point to visit places in Provence. Because we had our kids, 4 & 7, we only went to villages/sights that were within an hour and a half of the property. There was so much to see, we could not even do everything we wanted to do in the 2 weeks we were there. We had plenty of outings, going to the daily markets in the surrounding villages. The gite was lovely. Clean, and roomy. We slept on the second floor, which has a master bedroom, and an adjacent room with twin beds. This was perfect for us. We ate breakfast in the dining room downstairs, but had dinner out on the 3rd floor terrace, because the weather was so great. We visited a lot of villages in the surrounding area. They were all very beautiful. I think Lourmarin, and this property were the best choices, if you have kids. It is easily walkable, with sidewalks, restaurants, shops, and a playground that we visited daily. It was perfect!

If you want a nice village experience in Provence, this is it. The house is right in town, a very short walk down pedestrian streets to the bakery and the main square where there are a couple cafes. The house itself has a good kitchen, dining, sitting area and a nice upper terrace for coffee or a wine and tapas. There are a couple of decent restaurants in town, and the Friday market is fairly large, with very good food and a wide range of other goods.
We found Lourmarin a good launching point to other parts of the region. Along with Avignon, we visited many of the villages in the Luberon. We particularly enjoyed Vaison-la-Romaine, a medieval town with Roman ruins including a remarkable amphitheater. There is a nice chocolate store there too.
If you are a cyclist, there are several good routes from this location, including rides to Mount Ventoux. Lots of trails for walking as well.
There were 4 of us - two adults and two teenage girls. The house offered plenty of space. We were met by Greta, who was very helpful in getting us oriented. At first you will notice the church bells ringing every hour and on the half hour, but they become part of the wallpaper before long. All in all it was a very enjoyable, stress free stay.

Great week’s stay in this lovely Lourmarin townhouse. The property is very comfortable with a great kitchen, dining room, comfortable bed and we really loved the third floor sitting room and outside balcony to sit during the evening.
The property is in a fantastic location, close to the busy village centre and short drives to a supermarket and nearby villages.
We were met at the property by very friendly Greta to check in and be shown around the home.
We highly recommend this lovely townhouse to families, couples travelling together or just for two, we loved it.

Our party of four old friends needed a place to stay near Rognes to visit family living there. This delightful Provençal town house fitted the bill perfectly. It has great character, typically French, with three good size bedrooms and a lovely terrace where we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks before going down into the town for dinner. Lourmarin is arguably the prettiest village in France, like Padstow but without the port. The Friday market was easily the best market I have ever seen, full of delicious local produce and lovely stalls of well priced scarves, etc. We were within easy driving reach of the well known towns of Avignon, Arles and Aix en Provence, and we discovered delightful gems in Isle sur la Sorgue and Bonnieux.I had received very friendly instructions from Jamie and Fiona, the owners of this charming house, and we got eventually used to the hourly chiming of the adjacent clock tower. Lourmarin's restaurants and cafés are plentiful and great value. The boulangerie in the square sells the most amazing almond croissants and the chilled delicate rosé from the region can be enjoyed in every bar. The colours of Provence are amazing. Blue cloudless skies, blue purple lavender fields, silver olive trees and endless rows of vine trees. It was wonderful to leave Bristol Airport in the wind and rain, 17 degrees, then arrive in lovely Marseille where the sun was shining and already the temperature was 33 degrees. It got hotter every day and we were lucky to be able to cool off in our friend's pool some afternoons. One week was no where near long enough in this wonderful region of France - we will have to come back! And I can't think of anywhere better to stay than at the house of Famille Reith in Place Horlorge.

This townhouse is so special to my family. My mother had just broken her ankle a few weeks earlier on our long planned trip across the South of France and we arrived into Lourmarin for recouperation. I knew as soon as we saw this house we knew that we'd made the right choice. It was so very pretty, at the highest point in the village, with all the great boutiques, galleries and restaurants just a minute away. Although Mum's ankle meant that we didn't get to spend enough time on the top floor terrace, we loved eating food from the Saturday market in the dining room with the doors thrown open. We only intended to stay for 10 days but ended up staying another week. There was a fantastic festival called 'Yeah' on while we were there, the restaurants were brilliant and the locals couldn't have been more accommodating, particularly the village GP Dr Pascale Leurent-Baschin whose care for my Mum was outstanding and continued long after we left the village. There are so many beautiful villages to see in the area. Lourmarin is a must and this house is a great place to experience it.

We stayed for a week and had a lovely lovely time. Comfortable, pretty, fully equipped house with everything you could think of that you might need. Comfortable beds and sheets. Check in and out was very easy, making the arrangements was very easy, I would recommend it to anyone heading that way, and came upon it myself via word of mouth from a trusted source. Lots of space for us with our 2 children, could have fitted the third if he had come too. The village is charming (but watch the parking notices on market day) and so is the surrounding area. Great base for a visit to the South of France.

Thank you for the use of your lovely home. We had a great vacation and particularly enjoyed staying in Lourmarin. The location of the house was great and our children particularly loved walking to the bakery in the morning to order their pain au chocolat. My favorite thing was eating dinner out on the 3rd floor terrace! The only thing that I think could be improved on would be to have Internet access. It would've been nice to be able to get online to check directions and when certain places we wanted to visit would be open. Thanks again!

This is one of the best holiday accommodations we have ever stayed in. Lots of space, nice decoration, well equipped and very comfortable. Great location (town centre). I would like to recommend this house to anyone. It's like a being home far from home :)
