Villa Yerbabuena is located on the quiet north side of Sayulita. It is steps away from the most private and pristine part of Sayulita's beach and within walking distance of the lively town center and main swim beach. After a 10-minute walk along the palm-lined beach or frontage road you will find the first restaurants, shops, and surf break. Villa Yerbabuena's proximity to the center of town is one of its many attractions. It is close enough to walk to everything that Sayulita has to offer yet far enough to escape the hustle and bustle and find peace and tranquility.
Sayulita is a picturesque fishing village where low-key tourism and a traditional pueblo life-style go hand in hand. On the palm-tree lined beach you can rent lounge chairs and sun umbrellas, lunch at one of the many beach cafés, go for a swim or hit the waves for some first-class surfing, take surf lessons, go horseback riding, or charter a boat to go fishing or snorkeling. Scattered through town are wonderful restaurants, many of them serving savory local dishes, others serving international cuisine. There are boutiques, small grocery stores, internet cafes, a library, medical center, pharmacies, and a few family-operated tour operators offering jungle trips, zip line adventures, and visits to neighboring colonial towns. In the center of town is a charming plaza where the locals and tourists linger in the evening. Depending on the season you may witness colorful fiestas and religious celebrations.
Sayulita is about a 45-minute drive north of Puerto Vallarta. We can assist with transportation arrangements from and to the airport (including a stop at a large supermarket), a golf car rental for local convenience, or car rental. Taxi service is another option or the local Compostela bus!
Beautiful SAYULITA is Mexico at its best and VILLA YERBABUENA simply complements this. Together they hold every promise for an unforgettable vacation and a perfect retreat to come back to year after year.

The view is phenomenal, minutes to the beach and 20 minutes to the caves.
Property manager was amazing, very responsive and helpful, she arranged everything including picking up our groceries.
The plunge pool was a nice extra, although the mainpool doesnt get as much sun as we would have liked, it rained the days leading up and maybe if that hadnt been the case the pool would have been more comfortable. Without the sun on the back yard and not being heated it was quite cool, the kids did not use it much. The beach was much more of a hit, however a couple days into our stay the waves got intense, more than any of the locals had ever seen so then we couldnt use the beach either - that of course is no ones fault, just crappy luck.
We had the chefs come in, that was a nice treat, they cooked enough food for 2-3 meals no doubt.
If you are an early riser its not a problem, but definitely if you have kids that wake at the crack of sunlight it would be ideal to have heavier duty window coverings, the white sheers didnt keep out much sun and a barking dog across the way woke us up at 5:30 every day. Again, not the properties fault of course - hopefully it was a visitor and not a permanent dog for any future visitors sakes.
The pillows also had a weird cover that sounded and felt like a crib cover (plastic inside) - we definitely promptly took those off!
The staff were all amazing though, landscaper, pool guy, housekeeping, security, and property manager.
*****star overall

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property! The images on the listing don't even do it justice. This place is an absolute gem. From check-in to check-out the process was entirely smooth. Everything was clearly labeled with instructions. The property manager was so wonderful, approachable and reachable for any issues at any time of day. Housekeepers maintained the property 3 times a week and there was no issues with security.
We had a group of 5 adults and 2 young children and there was ample room for everyone. Just note there is a small wading pool next to the kitchen that does not have a gate or fence next to the ledge, so if you have small kids, you'll have to watch closely.
For those traveling with children, I highly recommend staying in the north side of town, which is much quieter than the downtown areas, especially at night. And its very easy to walk or golf cart into town.
We can't wait to come back to Sayulita and would definitely love to book here again!

The house was lovely. We watched whales spout from the outdoor patio in the mornings, ate every meal outside, and fell asleep to the sound of crashing waves. Marusa, the house manager, was extremely responsive when we had needs or questions. Our kids spent hours in both pools. It was a wonderful place to decompress for a week and we will definitely be back.

Villa Yerbabuena was perfect for our family of 8 which included 3 couples and 2 children. Each couple had their own room and the little girls had the bunk bed room. The house has an amazing view and is within walking distance to beach. The north side of Sayulita is quieter but still has some great restaurants close by and the town is an easy walk. We did rent a golf cart to get us around easier. We have traveled many times in Mexico and this town has to be put near the top of one of our favorites. It is a small town and even though touristy it has kept its charm and authenticity. The house was clean and we loved the Mexican decor. There are plenty of spaces to find ones own quiet spot. The kitchen was well stocked including basic condiments and liquor. Communication between Iris and Marusa (the property manager) was excellent. All our questions were answered promptly. We had Carmen Castellon and Anna cook for us 3 nights and they prepared traditional Mexican meals which were superb. I would definitely recommend this home and book it again which I hope it will be soon!

My family stayed at Villa Yerbabuena the last week of July, and had a great time. The villa is walking distance to town, either by road or along the beach, though it was hot enough that we usually drove the golf cart in to get supplies or go to restaurants. The house is big and spacious, and has a wonderful, large pool outside that we pretty much lived in. The pool borders a small wooded area that is constantly visited by a large variety of tropical birds, which was great entertainment for kids and adults. The only unfortunate part for us was that we timed our visit during a lot of construction...the concrete-cutting saws and pounding started early and went until dark, which was too bad, but that's the luck of the draw. We would absolutely stay at Villa Yerbabuena again! One recommendation to future visitors is to park your car/golf cart in the gated area where the basketball court is. We left our rental car outside one night, and woke to the gas cap being gone and a full tank of gas completely siphoned out. Luckily there were enough fumes left to get to a gas station. In any case, enjoy the big, open, beautiful home and the colorful city of Sayulita!

SUNSET VIEW
Very nice home in N Sayulita. Great for our three generation family. Great views, beautiful grounds and pool, well appointed kitchen. Marusa, the property mgr, was very accessible and and is really nice and helpful. We used both our rented golf carts and the occasional taxi to get around with ease. Would stay there again

Beautiful appointed gem in the north end of town
We were very pleased with this home and it's location near the beach and jungle trailhead. From the pools and basketball court to the rooftop observation deck, everyone in our group from ages 3 to 80 was comfortable and always entertained. The architectural style is elegant and layout is functional. The kitchen has the most amazing ocean views and is very well appointed. We will be back!

Family Getaway
The property was fantastic! Close to the beach and close to town. Iris and Maru (the property manager) were exceptionally helpful. Provided the names of golf cart companies to use as well as a local chef who came in to create 2 Dinners at home for our crew. Will definitely come back!

Wonderful house in a fun town
Beautiful, well-designed and maintained villa. Our three generation family of seven adults and two young children had a great time there. Located in a quiet area close to the beach, but an easy walk to town where there is more going on. Comfortable inside and outside common areas in the upper floor overlooking the ocean to all hang out together, but also plenty of spots to hide away and read a book on your own. Pool is delightful, with both sunny and shady areas to relax nearby. We all enjoyed Sayulita, especially the beautiful beach, from my surfing daughter, to my beach-loving toddler granddaughter, to my foodie son. Could not envision a better spot for our family to get together. Iris, the owner, was quite responsive and helpful, as was Marusa, the on-site property manager.

Beautiful Stay in Sayulita!
Lovely home. Great places to gather and great places to be alone. After three days and it felt like a week and I had a week to go. It was quiet but a short walk to town where you could find great food late at night. The house was amazing. They had two pools. if you wanted shade there was shade, if you wanted sun there was sun. Loved all the birds, the moon setting over the ocean before the sun rose.

Love Villa Yerbabuena!
My family and I (9 adults) were in Sayulita/San Pancho for a destination wedding. Villa Yerbabuena was the perfect location! The view is spectacular (you can even hear the waves crashing) and the house was very accommodating, it had everything we needed and more. After a full day of activities, the beautiful pool was so relaxing, well maintained and just the right temps for May weather. The villa is 4 stories so be prepared for a lot of steps, and there was a lot of construction going on, but the birds and lovely landscape made up for that. The owner Iris and the property manager Maru were both very accommodating and responsive when we had questions before and during the stay. I would not hesitate to stay there again and would highly recommend Villa Yerbabuena! Muy Bueno!

Fantastic Week at Villa Yerbuena!
We had a fantastic stay here! The house is beautiful and clean and so comfortable. We loved our bedroom and woke up each morning to the sound of so many amazing birds in all the greenery that surrounds. The variety of places to relax and the 2 pools were a bonus. Watching the sunsets over the ocean from the deck was so amazing. We loved the proximity to town and had dinner there every night. I can not wait to return! thanks for the great vacation!

The house is very nice but unfortunately the nine of us were vomiting and having diarrhea starting 48 hours after our arrival. We found the norovirus cleaning directions in the house binder that recommended only bleach (cloro) as a disinfectant. We found none at the house. We informed the house cleaner that we were all sick and that the house needed to be disinfected with bleach including the landry. We were housebound sick the whole time she was cleaning and never saw her use bleach nor did we smell any bleach. The directions state that the bleach needs to stand on surfaces for five minutes to kill the norovirus. It didn't happen. Signs in the bathrooms state that the house has an issue with its septic system and asks you to dispose of your soiled toilet paper in a small container next to the toilet. This container is a perfect place to contract norovirus. The house cleaner empties the container but we saw no evidence of the containers being disinfected. The chrome tops looked smudged/soiled before and after the house cleaner was done. We notified the manager 24 hours before we checked out that the house was infected and needed to be thoroughly disinfected with bleach to avoid leaving a contaminated house for future guests. I would stay away from this villa until the septic system's issue is resolved and the cleaning staff starts following the Sayulita norovirus disinfection guidelines using bleach.

A beautiful Villa with breathtaking views!! Close to town, the beach, restaurants and shopping. . The house manager and staff were friendly and professional. Our stay was seamless from the airport pickup, to the golf cart waiting for us, ( recommended for getting in and out of town) , we didn't have to worry about a thing. We will be returning to Sayulita and Villa Yerbabuena !

Beautiful home and good location.
Yerbabuena was a beautiful home in a location near enough to Sayulita to walk to town and to The beach. We really enjoyed using the kitchen space for cooking and lounging on the upstairs deck and sitting pool. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We had a group of three couples and all were really satisfied with their rooms.
Positives:
- Location
- Space
- Beach Access
- Kitchen
- Upstairs Deck
- Upper Pool
- Views
- A/C worked great when needed
Minor Gripes:
- Hot water was not heating properly. Showers were a bit chilly. Enough warmth for afternoon, post-walk showers but too cold for morning.
- Lower pool doesn’t get a lot of sun. Was not an issue for us as we preferred the beach and lounging on the upper deck/pool but if lounging by the pool in the sun is really important you, take this into consideration.
Overall, would rent here again.

The closest place to paradise.
This was our second year at Villa Yerbabuena. We are 2 families and returning to this magnificent home inspired us all year. The cleanliness, beauty, willing staff and unreal scenery was unbeatable. We had maid service twice in 5 days, the property and pools were well attended each day and Sayulita is a magical town. We would be first in line if Iris ever wanted to sell her Villa and hope to retun again.

Everything we hoped for!!!
We will return this house for sure. The house is everything it is described to be, but more charming that the photos show. The pools are fantastic, the property manager and staff are very attentive and accommodating. The rental went as smoothly as possible. We rented golf carts and hired a chef per Iris's reccoemdations and both services were amazing. The short walk to the beach was worth the near private access. We also enjoyed the "secret" path north through the jungle for trailing running and access to hidden beaches. We can't wait to come back in the winter.

House (and surroundings) exceeds expectations!
Obviously the pictures are beautiful, but this is the first rental I've stayed in that was actually more beautiful (and clean, and luxurious) in person. Iris made the whole process incredibly easy, even though we were traveling with three generations and had never been to Mexico. The house does require a little extra parental effort if you're traveling with small children, as there are a few drops (which make for lovely views!). The kitchen is spectacular, and the A/C in the bedrooms was a life-saver. If you've got young kids or older folks in your group, I strongly recommend renting a golf cart (Iris can give you info), as it's not a terribly long walk into town but there are too many hills for some people to make it comfortably, particularly in the heat. Also, we had a meal cooked by Sofia (again, info was provided) which was a highlight of the trip! Sayulita was just amazing, and this house can't be beat.

Best VRBO house we've ever rented
My sister's family and ours (9 people) stayed at Villa Yerbabuena over La Semana Santa. (Unless you love crowds and being stuck in traffic, I would NOT recommend going to Sayulita the week before Easter.) The house was perfect in every way. The kitchen was well-equipped with modern conveniences and even a cabinet full of liquor at our disposal. The views of the sunset from the living area deck were gorgeous every night. The house has charm, high ceilings, beautiful decor, comfortable beds and linens, great wi-fi, excellent A/C in the bedrooms. The pool was the perfect size and temperature and surrounded by gorgeous plants and flowers. The kids had a great time playing basketball on the sport court. We have rented many houses via VRBO over the years, and this one was by far the nicest.
Families should know that one of the bedrooms is on a lower floor and feels very separate from the other bedrooms. Could be a configuration issue if traveling with young children. And there are a lot of stairs between the main living area and the lower bedrooms and pool. Could be challenging for older or physically-impaired guests.
We had other complaints about our stay in Sayulita (too crowded that week, some crime, lots of drunken backpackers going to a rave by way of our street, most of us got a stomach bug probably from contaminated ocean water). But if Sayulita is your destination (and it IS a beautiful beach and charming town), then Villa Yerbabuena should be your home-base without question.

2 families had the time of their lives in beautiful Sayulita at Villa Yerbabuena. We booked next year. The weather was perfect, activitgies affordable and the Villa was magnificent. We booked for next year already and can't say enough about the pristine views, amazing villa and wonderful staff.

PERFECTO!!!!
Our family (5 adults & 2 children) stayed at Villa Yerbabuena the week before Christmas. We had a wonderful time! The house has the most amazing, relaxing views of the ocean from every room. The pool is gorgeous & it is really fun to throw a few baskets on the basketball court. We rented a 6 person golf cart to get to town easier and the kids loved it. The beach is within walking distance & is not crowded. It is a fun beach for everyone in the family. Maru and staff are super friendly and very helpful with whatever you need. The decor of the Villa makes you feel like you are part of the Mexican culture and the Villa is top notch! We would stay here again without question. Thank you Iris & family for opening your home & allowing us to experience Sayulita & Villa Yerbabuena!!! Gracias!

What a beautiful home!
We just got back from Sayulita with another family we were 9 people and I can't say one bad thing about this house. It is big, spacious and well kept. Maru the property manager was amazing to work with from the day we booked this house They arranged pick to and from the airport, we requested a chef for a couple of days and he was amazing! Iris the owner was very responsive and professional. I definitely would recommend staying at this house. Its more than you would ever expect and the location is perfect!! I definitely will stay there again, for sure!!!!

Villa Yerbabuena was amazing!!!
Our family of 8 just got back from a wedding and 5 nights at Villa Yerbabuena and can highly recommend it as the 'PERFECT' vacation rental while in Sayulita. We absolutely loved every minute of our stay there! The house is very spacious, has large luxurious rooms and bathrooms, comfortable beds and bedding, 360 degree views from the 4th story balcony, beautiful surroundings with palm trees and birds and iguanas everywhere on the property. It had an awesome pool with tons of blow up toys and inflatables that was lots of fun for the whole family. It is very conveniently located and private for being so close to town. The Villa is a minute walk to the beach. Maru is an amazing hostess and knows Sayulita and the surrounding areas very well. She is full of wonderful ideas to keep you entertained when you are there and she was able to recommend a babysitter for the wee hours of the night while we partied away and the babies were safely asleep. We love Sayulita and will definitely be returning to stay at Villa Yerbabuena sometime soon. Hands down the best rental I have ever been in!

SPECTACULAR!!!!
Three generations of our family (6 adults and three kids under 8) spent Christmas week at Villa Yerbabuena. I honestly don't know where to start -- it was a truly perfect vacation. The house itself is even better in person (and that's saying a lot since those photos are beautiful). The staff is beyond conscientious. Maru, the property manager, goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. She and the homeowners have gone to great lengths to see to their guests' comfort...there was even a pitcher of water cooling in the fridge and beer steins in the freezer when we arrived! Wish we could give Villa Yerbabuena more than 5 stars. It was HEAVEN.
