Country Bliss
Clean, comfortable and cosy house in a lovely rural location but also close to Gloucester. Lots of things supplied - linen, a well stocked pantry (basics but handy), great television set up and fire was ready to go! The verandah with excellent outdoor furniture was our favourite place to sit and take in the landscape and local fauna (lots of birds). We loved the big tree in front of the house (great for climbing). The gorgeous Barrington River was easy to access from the property and the kids enjoyed skimming stones and playing on the shore (the river was raging!). Highly recommended.

Picturesque Cottage by the river
A well-presented house in a picturesque setting. The property has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Great deck to soak in the views. It is a very short stroll down to the river which if we had stayed longer would have made a lovely picnic spot. Highly recommended.

Fabulous location
We had a most relaxing time in this beautifully renovated cottage. Given our stay was mid June it was so good to have a wood fire. Being close to the Barrington river we enjoyed walking in the semi rainforest with its abundant birdlife. We look forward to returning.

Cottage Bliss
A beautiful place to stay if you just want to put your feet up and get away
from the hustle and bustle of city life. Stunning views across cow studded paddocks with the occasional fox and kangaroo popping in for a peek!
Still very close to the township of Barrington or Gloucester, if you need extra supplies or a meal.
The cottage itself is amazing, very well equipped right down to the stocking of extra goods in the pantry. Beds were very comfortable as was the lounge area.
The river was beautiful a photographers paradise, but we left the swimming and
raft riding for the more adventurous.
A very restful weekend was had and found it very hard to leave. Will definitely be booking again soon.
Thank you Jenny for your kind hospitality, and you attention to responding to emails so promptly!

Comfortable rustic base for exploring or relaxing.
We only stayed a few days but we were impressed. Our boys cooled off in the river and then later we watched a storm come in over the mountains on the lovely verandah. It was convenient for exploring the Gloucester tops and close to Gloucester itself. The old character, but comfortable, living area and modern bathroom were nice features. It was a nice way to give our city slicker kids a slice of the country.

Peace, perfect peace...
We didn't want to leave....ever. So peaceful and quiet, it was as if we had finally come home after a long break. Sitting on the verandah listening to the river babbling away at the end of the garden, birds serenading us, even though it was rainy we were lucky enough to not get wet whenever we went out. The Cottage was very neat and tidy and fully equipped with everything you need and the fireplace kept us warm all night - very cosy! At night the clouds cleared enough so we could see the stars - so many stars that you never get to see in suburbia! So many things to visit and sight-see you can never get bored with the scenery! A walk along the river will re-energise your batteries and relax your soul. We came home so rested and relaxed and can't wait to go back again.....Thank you Jenny for the perfect break away!

Comfortable and Charming Property.
We spent 5 days at Old School Masters Cottage during a very cold spell in May. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is set in peaceful rural surroundings , just a short drive from Gloucester. Beautifully furnished with an open fire and quality bed linen you will feel spoilt from the moment you walk in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we' were sorry to leave the property . Highly recommend this property if you are looking for a city escape for a few days .

Excellent propert!
Well appointed property. Good kitchen facilities. New bathroom with lots of room. Beds were comfortable. Ate outside for all meals which was great. Despite the wet we were able to do some exploring and managed a nearby walk. This was a very relaxing weekend but could also have been a very outdoor weekend. Would love to come back for a week!

Perfectly peaceful
This cottage was the perfect meeting place for my friend and I to catch up. Very peaceful and relaxing, yet only a short drive to cafes etc. The decor is really lovely, cozy and comfortable. A dip in the river was also a pleasure with easy access from the cottage. The hosts here have thought of everything, so all that's left for you to do is enjoy! We only stayed for a weekend, but wish we could have stayed longer. Highly recommended.

Beautiful and Tranquil
We absolutely enjoyed our weekend at the Old Schoolmaster's Cottage - Jenny was very thoughtful in sending us Things To Do whilst we were there and touching base with us on how we were enjoying our stay.
The cottage is clean, and like a home away from home, with everything you need for a perfect family getaway. The surrounding fields offer a perfect playground for the children and the short walk to the river provides a little adventure and picturesque walk for everyone. We will definitely be coming back!

Tranquil and beautiful
We recently spent a weekend for a mum's weekend away at the Old School Masters Cottage. The cottage is so cute and suited our group perfectly. It was clean, tidy and well appointed. Plenty of firewood made the cottage cosy on a cold winter's night. Sitting on verandah in winter sun listening to the river and enjoying the rural landscape an absolute treat for the soul. Perfect. No mobile phone range was awesome. Free Wifi provided all the communication we needed. We'll be back.

Beautiful country escape
We spent four nights and did not want to leave. The house is well appointed, cosy and great for lounging in front of the fire. Very peaceful with lovely scenery, amazing mountains and the sounds of the river. We enjoyed the winter sun on the verandah watching Mum and calf and abundant bird life. It was a perfect place to really relax and get back to nature

A true rural getaway
Beautiful old farmhouse, you can feel the history underfoot. Sit out on the verandah with the sound of the river, birds and cows, or take a wander down to the riverbank for extra tranquility.
