On Seven Devils, only half a mile to Hawksnest Snowtubing & Ziplines Park, and just over a mile to Otter Falls Trails and Seven Devils town park, Starlight Ridge is central and convenient to all the High Country has to offer. The towns of Boone and Blowing Rock are both about twelve (12) miles away. Banner Elk and Valle Crucis are only about nine (9) miles away. Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is a short seven (7) mile drive from the property, and Beech Mountain Ski Resort is less than fifteen (15) miles away. Appalachian Ski Mountain and Tweetsie Railroad are both only sixteen (16) miles. Grandfather Mountain is about fourteen (14) miles away. The Watauga River is only a few miles away, and Watauga Lake is thirty (30) miles away. Linville Falls and Linville Caverns are both within twenty-five (25) miles of Starlight Ridge.
Walk into the main level to find a central living room with vaulted tongue-and-groove ceilings, wood floors, a floor-to-ceiling stacked stone wood-burning fireplace, a large HD Smart TV, and comfy leather furniture. Large sliding glass doors reveal the expansive views and lead out to the deck. Partly covered and partly open-air, the deck has a gas grill, a picnic table, and Adirondack-style chairs. The kitchen boasts two under-mount stainless sinks, granite countertops, and stainless appliances with a glass cooktop. The center island offers two bar stool seats for extra seating. The adjacent dining table seats another eight (8) guests for a total of ten (10) dining seats. There is a Bluetooth stereo in the dining area, central to the kitchen, dining, and living areas, for guest enjoyment. The wood floors extend through the kitchen and dining area as well, and another sliding glass door opens up to the view and the outdoor deck with the grill and dining table.
The primary master suite is also on the main level and features a rustic king bed, wood floors, glass doors that frame mountain views and lead out to the rear deck, and a wall-mounted HD Smart TV. The second bedroom has a queen bed, an HD Smart TV, and a private entry into a Jack&Jill full bathroom with a granite vanity and a deep tub/shower combo. This bathroom is also accessible from the main central hallway for general guest usage.
Downstairs features a central den with a leather sectional sofa, a stacked-stone fireplace with a woodstove installation, an HD Smart TV with a soundbar and surround sound, a DVD and BluRay player, and two retro game consoles - an Atari and a Nintendo - with games and controllers. A glass door reveals the view again and leads out to the lower covered deck and the hot tub, a porch swing, and a wrought iron round table and chairs. There is a king bedroom downstairs with a huge window for the view and a bunk bedroom with a twin-over-full bunk bed and a twin trundle bed. The central bathroom has a jetted soaking tub with a shower and a granite vanity.
The lower level is a two-car garage converted into a fun game room equipped with a ping pong table, a foosball table, a card table and chairs, a mini-fridge, and a large wall-mounted HD Smart TV. The rest of the house has central heating and air conditioning, WiFi internet, a laundry room with a washer and dryer, and digital cable programming for all five HD Smart TVs.

Property had everything we needed! Kitchen stocked very well. Nice quiet location but still convenient to everything

We visit the mountains annually. This home has by far been the absolute best stay. There is easily accessible parking (a flat parking area). The views are absolutely stunning. The home was immaculate. The kitchen was well equipped with all cooking utensils, plenty of cookware, small appliances, and dishes. My kids really enjoyed having their own space downstairs with the game room, board games, video game consoles, and their own full bathroom. I appreciate there is a full size washer and dryer, not the apartment style stacked combo like many other places we have stayed. The location is great and a short driving distance to many attractions. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely stay here again.

We loved staying at this house. Amazing views for sunrise and kids loved playing in the hot tub and in garage game room. Great layout of rooms and bathrooms for 8 of us.

This property was absolutely amazing! It was just as described, if not better. The kitchen, the amenities, the layout and the decor were perfect for us. We stayed with another couple and because of the layout it was as if we had our own living space. The view was absolutely breathtaking. No problems getting to the property or getting in. Our only regret is that we didn't stay long enough. We definitely will be back again.

Our stay was fantastic! The property was perfect for our kids (4yo and 8yo) and while our teens did not travel with us this time it would have been perfect for them as well. The view was spectacular and we loved how close we were to hiking trails that were just the right difficulty for our family. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. The place was very clean and comfortable and we can’t wait to book again.

We loved our stay in Seven Devils. Cabin is beautiful and the kitchen is fully stocked with what you need to cook meals in. Beds and pillows were comfy, and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets if needed. We even got an unexpected snow day on our visit. We loved every minute!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The place was amazing to say the least. We loved everything about it, the location, the space and how everything was set up perfectly. The interior design was not to much everything was perfectly placed. I could go on about how amazing the place was and not to mention the 4 elements we got to experience while we were there. The rain and water falls, the blueridge parkway on a sunny day and our last night it snowed. I loved it, thanks again!

My friends and I had a great time. Unfortunately for us it rained all weekend but with the ping pong table that kept us entertained. Will definitely be staying at the house again on our next trip to Seven Devils.

Amazing view and beautiful property!
This house was a huge treat for our girls' trip. The beds were super comfy, the home immaculate and the view to die for! We loved cooking and eating on the big deck. And every evening we enjoyed a fire in the fire pit. Would definitely come again!

Perfect location
We have tried several different areas around NC over the last few summers. Seven Devils was perfect. The home was beautiful, the view from both back porches were perfect and the house was exactly what we needed for our two families to have our own living areas. We will most definitely be back.

Very satisfied
A very quiet, clean and pleasant stay. Especially liked the robin in its nest on the drain pipe, the cement dog in the rock wall and the deer early in the morning.. The weather was overcast and foggy, there was a great view the one morning when it was sunny. You can't order the weather; it was still a very nice get away.

Beautiful home
We stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. The home is laid out well, has great views and is beautifully remodeled. We had good communication with the property management company and no issues accessing the property. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent Stay
Our group had a wonderful comfortable stay here. It is a well appointed house that had everything we needed. Property managers were proactive and communicative about some issues that popped up, which we appreciated. House is way up in the winding mountains, which I couldn't imagine doing if it were snowing, but that may not bother others. Figuring out the front lock was tricky--you have to hold your hand in front of it for the numbers to come on, but that wasn't clear. Kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, and there was plenty of room for all. View was great from the deck. The one thing that was really needed was a bathroom door in the front bedroom (the one off the kitchen) that closes and locks completely. That was frustrating and a privacy issue. Bathroom doors should close completely and lock easily. Overall, a wonderful stay, and we would highly recommend.

Excellent house with great views, ammenities
Enjoyed an extended girl's getaway weekend. The house has lovely views with great porches to take in those views. It was too cold for us to spend time out on the decks, but we enjoyed some beautiful sunrises over the mountains. The beds were comfortable and cozy. Bathrooms were modern and clean. Kitchen was well-equipped and spacious - with 7 women staying together, there was still plenty of room. There is an extra small sink on the island which was a really nice perk. We did have issues with the ice maker not making ice. (We just went into town and bought a bag). And the dishwasher was not working. All of my emails reporting these problems were very promptly responded to and a repairman was sent within the hour! Very impressive. He got the dishwasher working while he was there, but it stopped as soon as he left. While it was inconvenient to have to wash dishes by hand, it was not a deal-breaker for our enjoyable stay and we were offered some compensation for the inconvenience which was very much appreciated.
We ordered firewood to be delivered to the house and enjoyed fires in the large stone fireplace each night. Would have liked one more seating option - like a large chair in the main room, but the couches were very comfortable. The room was spacious enough for us to roll out our yoga mats for yoga a couple of mornings.
Only 2 of us used the hot tub. It was too cold outside to get in and out of it comfortably while we were there. Maybe next time, the weather won't be as challenging.
The ping pong table in the garage/game room was a huge hit! We put some tunes on the TV and played hours and hours of ping pong. Such fun!
The location is nearby Mast General Stores, Banner Elk Winery and Grandfather Winery - all places we enjoy visiting when in this area.
We had a great time and would definitely book this house again.

Beautiful Mountain Home with View!
This home was perfect for our family of 4 and our friends who also have a family of 4. Both couples were able to enjoy a bedroom with attached bath while our kiddos enjoyed the downstairs bedrooms with the entertainment room! The games and activities in the garage area kept our children entertained for hours! We played lots of games in the downstairs common area and the seating in that room was great for our party of 8! We also enjoyed the beautiful kitchen which had everything we needed to prepare a delicious breakfast that we enjoyed on the picnic table on the deck! The view was amazing!
The house was very easy to get to and had ample parking for 2 SUVs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and look forward to staying here again next year!

Comfortable and cozy
We enjoyed staying at the house to ski at Sugar. Nicely done, fully equipped kitchen, beautiful view. Beds were comfortable. Hot tub was clean with high quality jets. Bring eye covers for sleeping. The neighbor keeps their strobe lights on all night. Hawksnest is down the hill and it is lit all night.

Overall satisfied with property. Issues with ice maker and water dispenser were not resolved while we were there. Also, heating system had issues and emergency heat was required while we were there. Maintenance unable to fix during our stay. Well equipped property and in good condition. Nice views. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

I could gush all day about things that others have mentioned-- the well-appointed kitchen, the updated and beautiful decor, and the STUNNING view! It's hands-down the most outstanding VRBO that we've ever rented. But the thing I'd like to add is how wonderful this house is for multiple generations. We had our adult children and our parents with us on this vacation. There was something for all three generations. The bedroom on the ground level (no stairs into the house either) made accessibility easy for our aging parents who have trouble with lots of steps. The hot tub and game room were big hits with our 20-somethings. We all enjoyed gathering on the deck to gaze at the beautiful view and around the fire pit at night (it was terrific to have the wood delivered and waiting). If you have multiple generations to please on your trip, this is the house for you!

Mountain Relaxation
We were at the house for a reunion. We had such a wonderful time. The house was in an amazing location, it was clean and comfortable. We had a small issue with the hot tub, but the technician arrived and fixed the issue within one day of my call to the management company. Definitely recommend the property for anyone that is visiting the Banner Elk/Boone/Seven Devils area.

I would not stay anywhere else!
The home is in a great location - however if visiting in the snow you will need a 4WD or AWD with chains to travel up the last block to the home. Lots of people were stranded below the home because they could not make it up the hill. We had about 6" of snow and it was a little tricky for some. The house is just as pictured - modern with a cabin feel. It was very clean and well equipped with everything you would need (except a flat cookie sheet and a tea pitcher- but we made do). The two living spaces are excellent when traveling with children and the bathrooms were perfect. The views from the balcony are just lovely and we brought deer corn and watched them feed every evening and morning. We had questions about the phone and hot tub and the management team were quite helpful. Seriously - no need to look for anywhere else - this place is pretty perfect!

We loved our stay. The house was perfect and well appointed. Our only issue was the roads up to the house being very steep so just be prepared with the right vehicle in winter
