About this cottage rental

This historic and charming cottage was built in 1925 and has been lovingly brought up to date and professionally decorated with vintage touches for your comfort and convenience. Queen bedroom has private bath with shower, large dresser, and armoire. King bedroom has closet, armoire/dresser, comfortable reading chair, and 42 in. TV. Second bath has door to outside deck with an outdoor shower. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave. Stack washer/dryer in separate room off kitchen. The enclosed front porch has twinXL daybeds for relaxing or accommodating extra guests. The cozy living room has 50 in. TV and WiFi. Enjoy the Florida weather from the brick patio overlooking the backyard or follow the path through a bamboo forest to your own dock on Frazier Creek. Access to kayak and bicycle rentals is conveniently located next door. Boating is limited to 6ft. clearance due to the bridge on Federal highway.

interesting note... word has it that Al Capones girlfriend once lived here and would walk to the train station in her RED heels to meet him on his way to Miami!

The setting was perfect all of the events that had been planned for this destination wedding were within a 0-25 minute from “Peace Cottage”. We were also close to other family members. The perfect outcome for a mini vacation family and a great little town…Stuart. Everything else I icing on the cake. Thank you

My husband only had a few days, but enjoyed every minute of our stay at Peace Cottage. It was conveniently located to downtown Stuart, very walkable. We drove to the beach, which was a short distance. The cottage suited our every need, with the exception of adequate beach chairs. Since we flew from NC, we couldn't bring our beach equipment, it would be nice if the beach chairs get replaced. That is our only complaint, loved the charming cottage!

I love the fact that this is a 1925 home with some history. Mary Jo has decorated it in a very appealing way. I found everything I needed and all was in working order I sat by the canal several nights with wine and listened to the soft music coming from the bar across the way. Stuart has many shops and several preserves and beaches near by for hiking and kayaking. 😀

This was a wonderful space. Very old but felt fun and freshened. It was close to shopping and restaurants. It was a very comfortable stay and exactly like it was described. We had four adults and it was perfect for us.

We were in town for my birthday and my MCHS 50th reunion. The cottage was superbly decorated and super clean! Great location! Beds were comfortable. Great outdoors with shady brick patio, table and chairs, gas grill, large backyard. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. We truly enjoyed our stay. I would rate our stay a10 out of 10!

Fun historic home. Walking distance from everything in downtown Stuart. Quiet and private on the property. Access to the canal behind the property. Near businesses, but wasn’t an issue.

Loved the designer feel of this quaint spacious cottage right in the heart of Stuart Florida. Could easily walk into town for breakfast and dinner. Parked on the street as the side driveway has rocks and is a narrow driveway. Mattress is very soft in the Master Bedroom. Didn't use the second bedroom so can't really speak to that. Home has a musty smell probably due to being closed up and age. Overall, great space and lots of charm and was perfect for our visit to Stuart.

We loved the cozy cottage, and there was everything we needed. The cottage is close to shops and restaurants in town. It is a short walk to Shepherds Park on the St Lucie River and to Riverwalk. We would stay again!

Cottage charm in town

Peace cottage was absolutely charming and provided all the amenities a family would need on vacation. In addition, the path in the back yard with bamboo and palm trees felt like old Florida right in the middle of town. The convivence of in-town accommodations was perfect as parking can be challenging in Stuart. The beaches on Hutchinson Island were a short easy drive from the cottage.

A lovely cottage in Stuart within easy walking distance of downtown. Clean and quaint, with high-quality updated amenities and old-Florida charm. Tasteful and snug. Stunning bamboo forest to amble through to the property's dock, on the canal. The only minor downside to this property is its proximity to US Hwy 1 (1 block) and the train tracks (3 blocks), both of which can sometimes be heard.

This little gem near the heart of downtown Stuart provided a convenient oasis with many extras including items for days at the beach, as well as, spaces for grilling out and dining in. Beds were soft and nurturing too. Completely delightful vacation spot!!!

Wow…. 1st let me start by saying Breath taking.. The owner has everything spelled out for you.. and the backyard… Oh…. My FLAV the outside shower… NEVER TOOK ONE BEFORE…. It was Amazing…. We was in the perfect spot for 4th of July fireworks show… beach up the rode… Great fishing in the back of the house it’s a river with some fresh mango snappers …. I left my pillow for my neck that I paid a good penny for and she mailed it too me… That means alot… will be back Soon….Beautiful home….

Backyard deck a wonderful place to spend an evening. Bring bug spray, but that should go without saying as you are in Florida. Bamboo walk to Frasier Creek, pleasant. 'Old forest' atmosphere with Orchads growing off of trees.

it was a very adorable cottage. Some issues: too close to train, and US1, backs up to a strip mall. So lose points on location. Wish you could put this cottage on the ocean it would be perfect!

The Peace Cottage is just like the pics and the best stocked VRBO property we’ve stayed at. The restaurants in Stuart are within walking distance and you feel safe. We went to Jupiter for Spring Training - which was very easy drive. Hopefully we will be back next year !! PS: the outdoor shower was refreshing !

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Peace cottage. The five of us had room to spread out, but we tended to gather in the dining room or on the dock, which fit our 17' skiff just fine. We easily walked to downtown on several occasions and enjoyed many places to eat as well as catching a show at the Lyric Theater. Kitchen was adequately appointed and having the W/D was nice .
