About this house rental
The GLASS HOUSE was designed by an associate of Frank Lloyd Wright (FLW). It is a UNIQUE example of his classic architecture and use of 'core' living space. The Mid-Centruy Modern furniture and the classic design with large picture windows across the front and rear of the Glass House make it a wonderful location for vacationers to enjoy unobstructed views of both Lake Erie and Sandusky Bay. The mahogany wood walls and interior finish with cedar ceilings are exceptional example of FLW's style and simplicity. The front deck provides a panoramic view of the lake for relaxing.
An OPEN living area, kitchen, dining area, and two decks along with two "primary" bedrooms with baths are located on the upper floor. The Lower Level has three bedrooms and kids' family room with a second Smart TV for more versatility in entertainment. One of these bedrooms has a king bed, while the one has two twin beds and a queen, the fifth bedroom has two twin beds. The kids' family room features a small kitchen with dishwasher and refrigerator for entertaining on the brick patio in the back.
Recent improvements include new hardwood flooring on main level, new furniture, bedding, Smart TV. Internet is provided with WiFi in the house.
For your outdoor enjoyment a boccie ball set, a croquet set, 12 outdoor chairs, 3 picnic tables, and 3 umbrellas are available. Beach toys are stored in the shed. The patio furniture allow the full use of the outside rear yard, and there is ample area for children and games. There are also 2 picnic tables at the bay beach.
The view of the water and beach will allow your family to enjoy a unique experience on Lake Erie. Don't forget the islands. You will be limited only by your time and your creativity in enjoying the area.

Beautiful location with great views of both Lake Erie and Sandusky Bay. Stayed here because it is close to family. Bay side beach access is nice but the beach area and back patio are not cleaned up and ready for use. Downed branches and grass/weeds in the beach area make it a bit uninviting. It was in a convenient location, held our group of 13 comfortably and we had a great stay.

House is a little run down, not as nice as in the pictures but in a great location.

Water, water everywhere you look. Lake Eric out one side and the bay out the other. Great house, beach and everything for a perfect stay.

We loved staying at the Glass House! There were 5 of us and we had plenty of room. It was very clean. Everything we needed was there. The large open kitchen/living area was very comfortable and conducive to visiting with friends. Also there were plenty of areas indoors and out to hang with friends or have some quiet time on your own. The lake and bay views are incredible!! We will most likely rent it again in the future.

The house was in pretty good shape. All the dishware, bedding, and space you could need. Check-in and check-out was smooth. All appliances and electronics in good working order. Furniture was comfortable and in good condition. If I had to give a criticism about the interior, I would say that there were a couple minor inconveniences like how all of the interior sliding doors locking mechanisms were difficult or impossible to operate, or how many outlets were two prong outlets (missing the grounding portion).
Really though, the interior of the house isn't the focus here. The views are amazing. And whomever built the house knew that with it's glass walls. No matter which way you face in the house, you are facing a stunning lake view. The neighborhood is private, so you aren't really concerned about people looking in. There are also many birds visiting the backyard, so you get a completely amazing view of nature.
Additionally, the proximity to Cedar Point is great if you are visiting the park and don't want a long drive back after (and I think you get to leave through the secondary exit, avoiding the bulk of the traffic).
Loved this place, 10/10 would stay again.

nice house. air was very dry inside. we all hate the ridiculously noisy loud ballistic toilet in the lower level. the first aid kit was weak. we needed just one normal bandage, none were to be found. just really tiny or really big ones. one person complained sound carries too well thru the house. the view certainly was very nice. we would perhaps consider staying there again. esp if the lower level toilet got replaced.

It was nice but could use an updated stove, took a long time to bake also sliding doors for some of the bedrooms would not close all the way, but other than that, the house was great and beach location was wonderful. We all enjoyed out stay and hope to stay again sometime.

The house was wonderful for a multigenerational family with bedrooms upstairs and downstairs, and a kitchen with family room downstairs. The views were awesome out the front (Lake Erie) and the back (the bay). The backyard was very pleasant and relaxing for outdoor dining. We would book this house again.

My wife and I have stayed in a Frank Lloyd Wright home, which was spectacular. This was even better. Just as open and airy and mid-century-ish but much more comfortable. The house is so beautiful. It would be worth staying here even if you didn't want to use the two private beaches or explore the area.

The location is wonderful. Being able to sit and look out at the water is so soothing, and having that view from both front and back is a bonus. The house is very spacious and would be great for larger groups with different age ranges-- the downstairs is an ideal spot for the teens and tweens to hang out. The backyard is big and there's a firepit on the beach. There is wood already there so no worries abt having to forage or provide it (disclaimer: we did not make use of the firepit, just observed it when we checked out the back beach area). The checkout procedure was simple and there's no long list of chores for you to do, which was really nice. The only downside is the close proximity of the homes on either side which might make this location not ideal for those seeking privacy. Otherwise, i would definitely recommend this home as a top option for a visit to Sandusky.

Our family had a great time. The house gave us plenty of room to spread out and to spend time together. Both the Bay and Lake access were incredibly close offering ease of movement between the house and the water.
Our one concern was that we had difficulty contacting our host prior to our arrival.

We had a great stay at the glass house, which was a perfect location as we spent most of our time at Cedar Point right down the street! We could go in the morning, go back to the house for lunch and a nap, and head back for evening fun. Having waterfront views from the front and back of the house is spectacular. The owner was responsive and easy to work with. Check in/check out was also super easy. There was some water leaking from the upstairs showers and the owner came right over to inspect. Thanks again for a great stay!

Great location. Kids loved the beach across the street. And great having Cedar Point so close.

We had a great stay at Glass House. The house was large enough for our family reunion. The outside areas (front and back porches and windows) could have been a bit cleaner, but the inside areas were clean on our arrival. It is well stocked with kitchen items and bath towels. The two beach areas (front and back) were great. We brought our own paddle boards as the house doesn’t provide water equipment. The kids loved the freedom to go out to the lake without having to drive! Just walk across the street to your private beach front. There is a fire pit in the back yard where we sat out at night and made smores. We had some rainy days and noticed a couple leaks in the roof. The owner was responsive to my text. We initially had a difficult time with the air conditioner. There is not a good balance of control between the top and bottom floors. But we were able to adjust to this. We also had to figure out on our own that to leave the property you have to drive through the parking lot gate of cedar point. This wasn’t a problem once we did it, but it would have been nice to know the process ahead of time. Maybe the home owner could write some instructions down for future guests. Overall we had a great time and would absolutely come back.

This property worked out well for our family of 8 adults and 5 children. Easy access to Cedar Pointe Parks. We appreciated and enjoyed the Mid Century Modern decor and history of the home. Plenty of room to spread out inside and outside (albeit no amenities included for play in yard, at Erie beach, or in house so bring your own games, beach towels, beach chairs-for lake, etc.)
Beds and bath were clean and comfortable, and fresh new towels in baths were great.

We had a nice vacation. The family enjoyed being near the lake and the bay and the close proximity to Cedar Point was also a plus. Having washers and dryers to use were also handy.
The beds and furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms were clean. Our only negative comment is that it wasn't swept under the couches which easily could have been done with a broom. Seemed like the cleaning crew may have cut a few corners that day.

The house was neat, everything clean. Could not use toilet in one of the bedrooms as it was leaking into basement - was a problem that had existed prior based on basement ceiling.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at this wonderful property! It was the perfect size for us and had everything we needed. The only things that could have made it better was a couple of bigger lawn chairs for bigger people as well as larger sauté type pans. Otherwise is was great!! Perfect views and beaches.
