The vibe around the hostel is amazing, with guests and staff, feels like a community.
The location couldn't better, and the accomodation is really good as well.
Recommend the place a lot!

I liked the location
I had a disappointing experience with the management and cleanliness. The staff claimed that the rooftop closed at 10:30 PM, but they made exceptions for some people and at some point it was loud. Additionally, they charged different rates to different guests for towels and additional service which was weird, indicating poor management practices. Despite arriving early and having a bed available, I was told to return at 2 PM. When I came back, my bed was still not ready and was dirty. I had to change rooms three times and still got the dirty linen on the bed which I had to manage.

Staff. Location - in front of the sea, close to nice pubs and restaurants. Terrace. Kitchen with its equipment on the terrace. Selma (cat).
Pillow was very synthetic and therefore uncomfortable. The room was very small.

Lage genau am Meer
Für Surfer ideal
Restaurants in der Nähe
Terrasse mit Blick aufs Meer
Küche schmutzig
Bad schmutzig

This hostel is a great place to meet people.
The location and views from the terrace, while drinking a coffee.
There is a beautiful cat that lives at the hostel.
Curtains around the bunk beds.
Things could be improved.
The cleaning is done very basically there could be some deep cleaning done.
Some of the volunteers look a bit tired and sad, I don’t know maybe they are over worked or something else. It’s quite a compact hostel and gets dirty quickly. Some things in the kitchen are snagging and could do with updating. At night I found it hard to sleep, there is a lot of noise with the washing machine making all sorts out of noises, I am a light sleeper. I didn’t get any quality sleep during my stay. It’s also a bit expensive for what’s on offer.

The people working there were nice. Also there were some free things to use such as banana’s, eggs and spices.
To be honest, it’s not worth its price. We paid €70 for room a night. The room was just white and the beds were not comfortable at all, the pillows were thin and it was just a bed and a closet and a desk. For that price you can get so much more in the area.
Also, we noticed that a lot of (spanish) friendgroups came into the hostel, for us who didn’t know any spanish, it was hard to communicate and people weren’t as open as we thought they would be. The northern of Gran Canaria is also very somber, and the beaches are black. We eventually ended up going to the south of Gran Canaria after 2 days (even though we booked 6 days at the hostel) , the price of 3 nights at a luxe apartment with swimmingpool, own bedroom and bathroom, was the same price as 1 night staying at the hostel while it was so much sunnier there, cleaner, and so much more comfortable because we had more facilities.also notice there’s a non-refund policy.
i only recommend this hostel if you want to surf, because that’s the only reason you should go to Gran Canaria. The waves are amazing. The beaches not, just the waves. But notice that the rental of surf boards are very expensive in the area, for a suit and a board you pay like €25 for 2 hours surfing. and there isn’t much else to do in the neighbourhood but shop.
the staff was amazing tho and tried to keep everything as clean as possible, which made our two nights that we stayed much more comfortable. you can also lend towels if you want, which is great

It is very clean for a hostel. And very well equipped. Excelent location.

* great location
* good facilities - well equipped kitchens, books, basket- & footballs, some snorkeling equipment, beach tennis raquets etc.
* terrace
* staff is, in general, helpful
* double room that I booked: maybe knowing its name (Tropical) I shall expect it has no air conditioning, still, it's disappointing. + the window isn't external either (it opens to internal patio-like area), so to get any air flow, you also need to leave the door opened, which ruins your privacy
* location of the room is poor in general, internal window on one side, behind the opposite wall - shared bathroom (so not exactly quiet in evenings / mornings), + it's rather poorly equipped
* internet - sometimes working, sometimes not (and, since the room is 'internal', 4G signal is very poor too so you cannot just tether)
* on some evenings some guests stayed loud way after 0:00, which is, in theory, curfew hour there, and staff didn't bother to ask them to stay quiet
last 2 bullets are really disappointing, since those things are so easy to improve. Either you wanna attract surfers & digital nomads, or just party people, attracting both is rather difficult. Seems the owner & staff aren't sure yet what to choose :)

Gorgeous Terrace with an ocean view. Amazing location and right by the beach. Great staff. I noticed them cleaning a lot. I imagine it gets messy with all the sand. Key fob entrance. Privacy curtains on the beds. Filtered water on the sink. Great for what it is- a surf hostel.
Big problem: the lockers don’t fit normal sized locks. The hole is too small. Big security issue! Saw a cockroach in the kitchen- but I do understand they are everywhere on the island.

Personnel was so kind and accomodating. They stimulate the openness in the whole hostel. Especially Jackie was such a sweet person who was really professional in handling things and at the same time she was like a friend that invites you along after her shift. The hostel itself is pretty and has a nice terrace on the roof. The rules are respected by everyone. You can have a nice evening together as well as have some peace and quiet if you want to go to bed early. A lot of people were here by themselves and everyone was really open. The hostel attracts a wide audience so there was a mix of different ages, backgrounds and travel objectives. I was there for 4 nights on holiday after having explored the island and felt sorry I did not think about working from here and staying a little longer.
The kitchens are well equipped besides from the pots and pans, which could be replaced a bit quicker as lots of people use them and are difficult to keep clean with intense usage.

The hostel is really well allocated and the rooftop is perfect to look to the see on the sunset, but what really makes the difference are the volunteers that make the whole vibe of the hostel perfect and they do an amazing work everyday, spent the best times there with them, Jackie, Jasper and Pauline you were the best

I liked that the property was close to the beach.
I had a standard solo room. It was terrible. Not only did I pay way too much for this room, it did not have its own bathroom which I think is pretty terrible for the price i paid. Even the toilet was shared. The bed was really bad, the mattress was very thin and not comfortable at all. There was only one pillow which also was way too thin. If i did not know any better it would feel like I was in a prison for which I paid €90+ per night.

Amazing place to make new friends and perfect location! volunteers even organize activities to spend time together: movie night, dinners…
It was a bit difficult to fall sleep as the walls are thin and you could listen the noise…people talking even when you’re sleeping…also small toilets but very clean:)

Nice hostel a few meters away from the beach. Hostel with a good mix of people of different ages.
The hostel was cleaned several times a day. The second kitchen (outdoor) on the roof is really pleasant.
Good communication with the staff during the stay on WhatsApp and Booking.
The curtains all around the bed were a really nice thing to have for the privicy.
Some equipment in the kitchen were not very functionning.
Due to the large amount of staff members they were not all well informed and helpful.
The cold water in the shower at night.
