Fantastic environment in the mountain of Ba Vi with jungle around the compound with magnificent bamboo bushes and banana trees amongst others. Really special place with French ruins around and not too large bungalows spread over the area and amazing pool area with view over the area. Limited amount of spacy comfortable rooms in each bungalow each with balcony makes it really nice and relaxing to stay for a few days.
We went to the Spa the first day in the afternoon for my wife to have a treatment - BUT it was karaoke party on top of the Spa building with just a terrible noise that made it impossible to have a relaxing time. How can any manager allow such karaoke party with that noise in the compound? We also had a luxury set menu in the Tonkin restaurant with one of our Striploin beef steaks being really bad - I did not send it back since I did not want to ruin the athmosphere, but that was really disappointing.

We love the accommodation right in the rain forest, with some walking distance to view point, french ruins. The natutal space is tranquill and fresh. Ideal for recreation, beeing in the nature and friends chat. Part of the story of the area shown in the caffe lounge is interresting. The warm swimming pool was great.
The walk in and around the resort is slope and slippery while beeing wet in rain and mostly no one around. So please take special care while walking. Buggy service is available. But not all the time you would need this, but just to and from the car park.

The property itself was beautiful and had great views. The service was exceptional.
It definitely wasn’t luxury. The rooms were good, but the spa was not. The “hot” water was warm, there was one restaurant open with mediocre food, like everything came out cold. The taste wasn’t there, the temperature was off, the selection on the menu itself was okay. For breakfast, half of the food was room temp, the coffee was cold, but the made to order egg station was the savior. All in all, it felt like this was a new resort that wasn’t ready to open yet. I’m not sure if that’s the case, but they have a lot to work on before charging this kind of luxury price.

I truly enjoy the ambiance: the green environment and woods, cute little ducks crossing the road, and the farm nearby. The guys at the gate are so friendly and the staff is truly welcoming. The location is perfect for families of 3 generations, not too far from Ha Noi and the trip is bearable with kids/eldery.
I guess Kids Club and kid's outdoor facilities could be improved: maybe more updated and possibly toddler-friendly. This is where safety should be encouraged in facilities. We do like kids pool section though.

Location is incredible, staff are amazing and spa has good treatments. Atmosphere is unique being in such thick cloudy jungle, it really does feel like another world and is strange in a great way. The short tour included in the stay is interesting. Classic architecture and feel throughout the facilities sets it apart from cheap new-build hotels.
The story of Ba Vi in the lobby book is really cool but maybe it could be more prominent e.g. make more of a connection between the stories and available tours? More info about the tours in general would be good. I thought there was a missed opportunity for more focus on sustainability, given the location — that could be in-room or the menu (meat from aus and us is weird in my opinion). I guess that depends on what the target market is. The TV system was a bit bizarre and POS systems were a bit old but this was quite charming in a way. None of these things were problems just ideas to maintain a true 5 star experience.

Nestled in the lap of nature , cut off from everything else. Fantastic location, staff and views. The pool is breathtaking, and the massages are fantastic
Absolutely nothing to add here!

A lovely escape from Hanoi. The resort was peaceful and very comfortable for a short stay.
Food options at the breakfast buffer and room service were limited

It was an amazing property with so much to do including a spa, animal feeding, hiking tours and nice restaurants. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Amazing nature, mountains, primal forest, French ruins, very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.
Very good open air mountain view pool.
The room was far from satisfactory. The water drain in the bathroom didn't work properly. All the water was all over the bathroom floor. We told the reception staff about the problem , as a result nobody did anything about it, didn't fix the drain, didn't offer another room, nothing at all! The room service ladies had to be asked to clean in the room, and my haircomb disappeared after their visit. 🤦 In short, the service was far below expectations. And for the money they want for it one can expect something much better, because the hotel IS expensive.
Another point: they have free bicycle rental for their guests (which is good on the one hand), but the technical condition of those bikes is outright dangerous, their rear brake pads are finished, literally non-existent. And they guys are very calm to offer their guests those bicycles in the mountainous area, where brakes, are vital. Pure shame.

The resort was impeccable! We chose the suite with a mountain view. The room was clean and so comfortable. The bed offered us such a good night of sleep.
The location is great. It is so good to disconnect and be amongst nature. (Although I must say that the wifi connectivity is super strong. Even when we left the room and go to other parts of the resort, we always had a strong wifi connection) I love how it is nestled in the lush mountain. It was a bit unnerving for me initially when I heard the loud sound that the cicadas are making since I am a city girl. Haha. The insects were really huge too! But they never caused any issues for us. Instead it showed the amazing biodiversity and richness.
The best experience of it all, was actually with the people. Our son had a fever throughout the stay and we were all so well taken care of from. I want to specially mention Mr Linh, Mr Phuong Patrick, Ms. Nhung, Ms Thuy and Ms. Hue.
They are really gems that made such a great positive impact during our stay. Needless to say, I really hope we can visit the resort again sooner than later!
My son is already asking us when we can go back again!
Everything was great!

did not confirm the night and called 9 hours later next morning to ask if we can make it. yet they charged full price and refuse to refund whatsoever

Location is remote and beautiful. Lots of historical ruins to explore in a cooler climate. Go during weekdays to avoid the crowds.
The resort should provide clear guidance on the park entrance fees and process to set expectations up front on additional costs needed. Booking.com awarded free transfer to the hotel from the airport but it wasn't free. You incur entrance fee for your party and the driver and also a parking fee. Also many facilities not working at the resort ie. Sauna. Construction work during the day which was quite noisy. No indication that this was happening by resort management. Rooms are all in a hotel style accommodation block so neighbouring rooms can be heard especially when there are children.

The place itself is gorgeous! It is worth visiting once in a lifetime anyway as the nature is amazing, so many beautiful plants, animals, insects. Ba Vi is truly one of the best National Parks in Vietnam. Old French ruins are also something to explore. The whole place feels like hidden paradise.
The lack of clarity. We was sent to the restaurant which was not working. Also, we did not see clear information about coffee machine so expected it is free. It was not and we were charged for coffee capsules at the checkout. The was no clear instruction how to use the coffee machine, it was unplugged without any socket nearby.
I suggest guests bring their own snacks too, because food is overpriced and there are no much food choices there.

The facility is in the middle of the national park, so green and peaceful, lots of beautiful and green scenery, fresh air. Very nice and helpful staffs.
We stayed only 1 night and didn’t have enough time to experience all the facilities, like the swimming pool and spa.
There is only dine-in restaurant and the food was okay, rather expensive to me.

The breakfast was prepared with very fresh ingredients and the staffs were very friendly. That was an all-you-can-eat breakfast and I asked for a dish of raw veggies since it was very fresh and delicious and the waitress was so happy to bring me a big dishes with all kinds of veggie and fruits. The fresh squeezed carrot juice was the best I ever had.
The height of the chairs in the dinning room could be more comfortable, I think they are not meant for Asian people because I watched around and see people sitting with feet hardly touch the ground.

hospitality
3.5 / 5.0
The location is stunning and the rooms are super comfortable and cozy.
The food is not at the level it should be for a luxury hotel. Bland and no quality ingredients.
Apart from this, they charge you a 5% service charge for everything you order. Including massages at the spa (which isn’t free either).
A minor thing is that the staff can’t speak english (only a couple people in the whole hotel). This makes communication difficult when you need help from them.
