Quite old but well maintenance.
Not expensive, reasonable cost.
Large parking spot.
They has a large temperature control, indoor swimming pool.
The location was sitting next to a river but with limiting view and a little bit far from tourist spots.
A lot of family with children, not suite for someone who seeking a quiet place.

location is not near popular activity like the suspension bridge n fruit farms. They are long walk away. email hotel many times about shuttle bus but no reply.
No taxis in the area— difficult to get around
location far from activities— example Jozankei farm is 35 mins walk from Hoheyo dam bus stop

The hotel is situated in a convenient location - just a couple minutes' walk from most attractions in Jozankei, including the Footbath of Friendship, Shira no Taki, and Gensen Park.
We booked a traditional Japanese room which was equipped with comfortable futon beds. The futons were extremely warm and toasty even in the middle of winter.
The hot spring was rather disappointing for an onsen hotel, especially the outdoors bath. It was too small and the ventilation was terrible, meaning that the bath was so full of steam, visibility was only about 50 cm. It was also difficult to breathe due to all the steam.
The buffet quality was so-so. Nothing special or exciting. The highlight of the buffet breakfast would probably be the kaisen-don (seafood rice), but as someone who isn't a fan, it really wasn't attractive at all. The desserts at dinner were absolutely horrendous, though. Not recommended. Best part was the free flow of soft drinks (melon soda, coke, calpis, etc) and orange juice.

Very nice room. Comfortable futons. Quality towels, soap, yakata, etc The staff were very accommodating to us clueless foreigners.
Dinning room was very busy, however I think it was just us who weren’t used to this style of dinning.

Central location, tatami floors, in-room kettle and tea and the games room.
The condition of the walls and carpet in the hallways is in very poor condition. The stain on the carpet at our front door wasn't very pleasant to step over when entering/leaving the room.

pretty view
bad location, hard to call cab

my spacious room and the view
onsen wasn’t very hot and 16th fl had limited space for bathing.
also there was no true Japanese New Years mood. no such traditional music at all
no crab legs this year but maybe because of Covid (economic reasons)

The onsen's great and especially rotenburo (the outside bath)! It was snowing and the view was breath-taking.
Great place to relax and slow down a bit~
Also it was a bit challenging to find baths that I wanted to go to. The place is like a maze 😅 But it was nice to have a map, which is provided after check-in
It would be nice to have an instruction or explanation how to wear yukatas for those who don't know

Hotel and onsen were quite good . A lot of customers in the restaurant both breakfast and dinner. However the restaurant is very big enough and there were a lot of food stations enough to service customers. Food is quite good and varieties of choices. In December it is dark quickly and we did not want to go outside to have dinner. Buffet at hotel is suitable for us. The room was clean.
Free shuttle is not available for us. I tried to contact hotel to reserve seat 2 months in advance but there is no one to answer e mail.

it had onsen
the rooftop onsen, the reason I booked there, was closed…

Big queues for breakfast

the space was huge and they had many facilities
The room initially smelled quite weird, but after airing it, it was completely fine :)

Nothing in special
- This was the third time we went to Jozankei. We had good experiences before. But not this time.
- At the View Hotel they allow checkins only at 2:00. That means, in a a hotel with 600 rooms, there was a line that went outside the hotel (it was winter time) and the checkin booths weren't even all used. We got there at 12:30 and had to wait. When we realized the line was already too long. It would be the easiest thing if they started checkin ealier and just handed the keys later. What takes time is the paperwork. But it looks like brains are not really used there.
- They had a buffet style dinner and handed tickets with half an hour slots. When you got there, the line was so long that you could hardly find the end of it. A complete chaos inside.
- They gave us the food tickets only for the first day and said they would bring them to our room every day. We had to call them every day as they would never do.
- Plenty of food, but with bad quality (Japanese and western).
- They have a huge complex of indoors swimming pools, but not even one for adults. All of them for small children. If you don't have children, not even bother bringing a swimming suit.
- We went snowboarding at Sapporo Kokusai (which is 25 minutes from the city. Despite being the biggest hotel in the area, there were not busses that stopped by. You would either have to take a taxi that cost 6,000 yen one way (which we did) or walk around the town with your gears until you found a bus stop.
- The most evident thing was the lack of enough staff to cater for the number of people staying this hotel.

I didn't like that we had to put on plastic gloves for breakfast. Everyone wore masks when they entered the dining hall and used antiseptic spray on their hands. A high percentage of Japanese and foreigners already have had the Corona vaccine. Why do we have to use plastic gloves? Plastic gloves create more pollution and it costs the hotel more money for the plastic gloves. Now in Hokkaido, October 30th, there are only 5 infections. The infection rate is very very low.

Fabulous views from the hotel. Comfy and clean. Onsen okay - too many flies in outside rooftop onsen (during autumn).

I loved the baths. The rooftop bath was super relaxing with a brethtaking view, and the basement bath was huge with a lot of options.
There's even a night pool for adults which I'm sure is very fun.
The meals were also great, delicious with lots of options.
Being alone and not having a perfect level of Japanese, I was surprised how little English there was for a big hotel in a very touristy area.
There was a bit of an odd smell in the hallways and my room. It didn't really bother me though.

Very good for family
Kids love the swimming pool and hot springs
