Centrally located
Had to pay a price for private onsen
4.3
The room is big

good location, good design
The cleanliness of Minibar amenities, when I check-in my room. The tea pot are still full of used tea leaf from the previous guest
4.3
Clean and spacious tatami rooms. Variety of amenities available at both 2F and 12F onsen. Great breakfast spread. Situated near parks and photo spots of Jozankei
Hotel could have informed us that their shuttle bus service is back on. When I emailed months in advance of my reservation, they said the shuttle bus service to Sapporo station was suspended so I booked the Kappa Liner. But on the day of check out, I saw the shuttle bus service provided to other hotel guests.

Dinner and room

The public bath and the lounge with free drinks where one can relax.
Not many shops or restaurants near the hotel

Dinner could be more food, not enough for young man. Breakfast is good.
No one tell me that there has free drink and music in the ground floor, so I missed.

nice dinner breakfast and good view of onzen
shuttle bus is limited.

A well managed establishment. Good facilites. Nice lounges (reading, sitting lounges offering drink and snack). Two onsen facilities. A good Kaiseki dinner. A surprise dessert was sent to the room.
We arrived at 2.30 pm. Check in time is sharply 3.00 pm. We have to wait awkwardly in the lounge. Not clear whether we were entitled to access the coffee machine or the afternoon snack. Nobody explained. Maybe due to language barrier or the hotel rule, the check-in staff was like a goverment officer rather than a hotel receptionist. If there is no flexibility in time, it might have been nicer if the front office staff offered us to enjoy the free afternoon snack while waiting.

I love onsen.
nothing

The following things were excellent: everything!
If I was pushed to provide a single, constructive criticism, the hotel was a little dated, but it honestly added to the charm.
We were able to book a private onsen for an hour for only $22AUD!!! Breakfast and dinner both included and both delicious! A free glass of wine in the lounge after 7pm?! Free refreshments in the public baths! The staff were helpful and friendly.

Great experience for traditional Japanese onsen hotel.

Everything. The onsens were exceptional especially in winter. The rooms were massive.

- Location is very good. The bus stop to Sapporo is in front of the hotel main entrance.
- Public bath is so nice (nice view and all facilities).
- Staff has very limited English communication. They are helpful and friendly but it was very difficult to request or ask any question.
- Meal course according to our booking confirmation was difference from the hotel and we had to accept the meal course which was lower than our booking confirmation on the first night.

Need well English speaking staff

Service quality is excellent
Transport wasn't good.
They have a shuttle bus, but needed to book a seat 1 day prior to checkin.
Also seats are limited and not easy to reserve.

Japanese are weak on vegetarian/vegan offerings but this hotels provided a great vegan Kaiseki on two evenings for me and even a veg kids version for our two little ones on request! Really enjoyed the baths and the view. Highly recommendable!
4.3
A wonderful, traditional Japanese onsen hotel. Great onsen baths, very spacious and comfortable room, a very spacious lobby, including a corner for relaxing and listening to music on a fantastic stereo system. The breakfast was delicious - traditional Japanese style and Western for those who prefer this.

Location
Services
Location is very good but the onsen is a bit small.

the dinner was not as good as seen in the review from travel blog
