The location was ideal. I have known this venue for many years but this was the first time I have stayed.
The residential accommodation, in our case in the converted stable block, was excellent. Extremely comfortable beds and plenty of storage.
Parking right outside our rooms.
A couple of horse riders stopping for an afternoon drink made for a pleasant scene.
We had dinner at the pub and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, even preparing some off-menu toasted sandwiches for my wife and teenaged daughter who weren’t feeling too adventurous !
Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice.
All in all an excellent stay; we’ll be back.
There were three electric vehicle charging points in the car park, two Tesla and one ‘ordinary’ if that’s of interest.
The morning fire alarm test was a bit of a surprise, that’s about all I can think of. It was at about 1030 so not a big deal by any stretch.
The room could have done with an iron and ironing board, but I’m sure if I’d asked they would have been supplied, so more an observation than a criticism.

Idyllic location. Friendly staff and locals. Good food. Good value.
Nothing - the wifi wasn't great and there is very little mobile signal, but maybe that's a good thing!

We very much enjoyed the wonderful quiet village location. Dinner was excellent featuring local produce. Breakfast was equally delicious.
A minor thing for your next remodel - the floor level plug sockets were too low to eg plug in a phone or laptop charger. We moved lights around to sort out, so not big issue.

Location, the building, staff
It's tired, bathroom had stained walls, broken lamp in bedroom, menu hadn't changed the last couple of years, poor vegetarian choices. We have stayed over the last 6 years and it is going downhill

The staff were excellent, attentive, chatty, friendly, and engaging. Food was top notch, despite having a picky partner (thank you for accommodating him). Lovely atmosphere. The perfect room, bed firm, feather pillow and duvet, curtains thick enough to keep out the light and keep the room warm. Shower on point and bathroom spacious.... all in all.... can't wait to come back, 5 stars
Please put a note in the rooms to say you need to pick up milk for your morning coffee before you retire to your room.

Wonderfully individual rooms, peaceful village location and superb food

Everything - location, staff, room.
Lack of vegetarian diversity on the menu. Very mushroom based!

- Ideal location of the room in stable block for bringing the dog
- Good pub atmosphere
- Offered us an early breakfast due to having to leave early
- Only the breakfast, plenty of options but food was poorly presented and looked like it had been sat for a while. Overdone eggs and undercooked meat. Would of sent back but in a rush, same for the whole table

Lovely and vibrant restaurant that serves excellent meals. Good selection of beverages to be enjoyed in comfortable settings. The restaurant must be very popular based on very busy lunchtime service.
Slow breakfast service with no flexibility on the menu offered, which could have been for the fact that the restaurant lacked adequate staffing level in my opinion. I requested some simple pancakes for my granddaughter and was told that this was not possible.

Lovely, clean room with good sized bed. Delicious breakfast. Very friendly, helpful, warm welcoming staff. A special thank you to Alan who has only been working there for two days but managed to bring a smile to our faces.

The location mainly and the breakfast hall.
Overpriced for a room in a barn that was ok but not amazing. It’s more like a decent 2 star hotel but overpriced. The room was cold and dark. Very disappointed as we had good recommendations and that’s why I was happy to pay the tag price. Not worth it.

A lovely old building but with modern facilities in a beautiful location. Staff were friendly and the room was very large, comfortable and had a lovely four poster bed. Good location for walks or if you are going to an event at Cranborne Chase Cider Farm.
Communication was very disappointing. No reply to a message sent on booking.com 3 days prior to stay and no answer to 3 phone calls on day of stay, including a voicemail asking for the hotel to contact us about some questions we had. The room was quite a high price and I would expect better customer service at this price point. A proper vegan breakfast on the menu would be nice too.

The breakfast was okay but we had to pay extra for it. Ridiculous at that price.
The room was ludicrously small for the cost. There was nowhere comfortably to sit and no view. It smelt of damp.

Really comfortable, beautifully presented rooms with excellent facilities, delicious food and the nicest people. Couldn’t fault it and will definitely return!
Nothing at all

Second time we have stayed at the Museum Inn, the last being 2013. The premises has been well kept and maintained, immaculate clean. The location is so pretty with wonderful thatched cottages surrounding.
Breakfast well presented and varied.
