Loved the outside space and quiet, excellent space for the dogs.
Storage space for the case etc.
Reliable Internet.

We have a small and very nervous dog so this accommodation was perfect. The enclosed garden was brilliant for him, he seemed so happy to be just running around free.
The location is perfect, 10 minute walk to the village with its 3 pubs all of which are great, a Tesco and Co-op and a nice Chinese.
It’s also a 20 minute drive to the beech and similar for villages in the New Forest
Very small things and didn’t effect our stay as we spent a lot of the time out and exploring but the WIFI and shower wasn’t the best. The main bed was a little hard but personal preference.
I wouldn’t let the above stop you from booking though, we had a brilliant 4 nights in Fordingbridge :)

Absolutely brilliant bungalow which far exceeded expectations!
Much more spacious than the photos give it credit for. Very clean and well equipped. Extremely quiet with the exception of the cows behind us (which we loved).
We booked for the outdoor space for our dog and we were not disappointed! Plenty of dog equipment available for us to use.
We were also allowed to host a small family gathering which we really appreciated.
Great little area too; managed to do a few activities nearby which suited us.
It seems like the hosts really take feedback onboard and try to improve; for example, I brought our own fan after reading reviews about it being too hot but the bungalow already had a couple of fans in different rooms when we arrived. I also couldn't find a problem with the beds which came up a couple times in the other reviews too - we all found them comfy.
We felt really lucky to have found this bungalow and we already consider it "our" holiday destination which we will certainly be returning to at every opportunity!
Consistently good WiFi (important to our tween).
Gorgeously dark nighttime; I got to see shooting stars as it turned midnight for my birthday!
Below feedback is just constructive criticism for potential areas of improvement; didn't bother us at all given the bargain price we got it for this time around.
There were some conflicting instructions regarding dog etiquette; there were signs up saying no dogs on furniture but the welcome folder stated dogs were allowed on the sofa as long as the blankets were used. Our dog treats the floor like lava so we let him on the sofa with blankets and hoovered the sofa before we left (I haven't heard anything to suggest this was a problem).
Dogs aren't allowed in bedrooms which I would've preferred to know in advance as our dog is used to sleeping in the same room as us so we could've taken time to prepare him for this had we known.
The living room furniture wasn't the most comfortable with two large adults, a tween and a large dog but we appreciated it isn't a huge space and it does have a dining table squeezed in.
The Smart TV was a bit hit and miss as to whether the apps would load but we got there in the end.
We couldn't find the dog poo bin so left our dog poo bags in a carrier bag next to the other bins.
Extremely minor detail but it would have been nice to have some complimentary fuel for the BBQ but we appreciate this property is run by a charity and we were able to get our own from Lidl.
A little bit sad that prices have gone up since our original booking but understand the need to raise money from this property (and it didn't put us off re-booking at the higher rate).

The accommodation is in a quiet location but within walking distance of Fordingbridge. The kitchen was well equipped and all the little thoughts on how to make the accommodation user friendly with dogs was fantastic.

The site is ideally situated on the edge of the New Forest. The property has secure grounds which was ideal for our pet dog to run around.
Only one minor suggestion. It's a shame there was no freezer compartment in the fridge.

Amazing location, love the wildlife surrounding the bungalow. Feel very safe and secure. Best place I've stayed in the New Forest. Looking to book again.
The kids next door jumping on their trampoline looking into the bungalow, not the owners fault but last thing you want when chilling in the beautiful bungalow, luckily they didn't do it for long.

Loved location short walk to Fordingbridge, Very comfortable 2 bed bungalow, well equipped. Wrap around patio and gardens an extra bonus. Secluded and private with your own gates.

On the whole, the property was clean and had everything we needed. very spacious and very well set out.
It’s a shame the garden was so neglected, I imagine it would be lovely if was sorted out.
There were also some dog hairs in the bed, on the sofa and on the floor ( we don’t have a dog).
Other than that everything was spotlessly clean.
The sofa and bed are not comfortable, but fine for a few days.

The shower could do with replacing as the 1 that’s in is not very good.

Breakfast was good as I cooked it myself
Nothing everything was excellent

This is a beautiful place to stay, lovely and peaceful but only a short walk into town where there are several places to eat & drink. I would recommend The Ship Inn great food and lovely staff.
There isn't really anything not to like. would definitely go again

it had everything i needed and more the owner really takes care of the property and there guests

Swallows retreat is in a great location, out the way, quiet and the dogs loved the outside space
Easy walk into Fordingbridge, had lots of great meals out in the area and easy access to lots of days out and activities
What a shame
Cleanliness let this place down, first thing I did on arrival was hoover. A sea of dead flies under the bed, all sorts down the back of sofa, carpet had crumbs
Annoying flapping air vent in toilet, TV turns itself off
Most uncomfortable bed, we averaged 5 hours sleep a night then gave up as my back was killing me.
4.4
location - quiet and secluded- perfect for a wind down and chill out
bed bit hard

Beautiful view.
Peace and quiet.
Cleanliness of the property.
Fully equipped kitchen.
Beds and settee a little uncomfortable but not off putting!
4.4
Great location, comfortable, good garden enclosed although our dogs found a hole into next-door but I blocked that up. WiFi good, local walks are good.
Freezer box needs defrosting, flapping bathroom vent is noisy

Perfect location! Lovely walks near by.

Ideal quiet location just on the edge of town that only took 15 minutes walk. Property had every facility that you could need. Just a few minutes drive from the New Forest. Not the most modern but was a very welcoming and relaxing place.

Property was beautiful and in the most perfect location, right in the countryside but also just a 10 minute walk into town, absolutely brilliant! Will definitely be back! Was great that our dogs could join us too. The enclosed garden was perfect!

Really enjoyed our week at Swallows Retreat. Very close to a lovely village that had shops/pubs/restaurants, only about a 10-15min walk from the accommodation. Our Labrador loved the enclosed garden and many walks around the New Forest. Especially the many streams we came across. Lovely place to spend time with the family.
We stayed when it was very hot and I wish we had taken some fans with us as we didn’t want the windows open due to gnats etc.

Everything. Accommodation, facilities, location
Will definitely book for longer next year. Every aspect excellent

Close to town and New Forest. Comfortable bed and settee. Shower good and lovely and warm. Fab views of the countryside.
Just a couple of minor things. Apart from the fridge there isn’t a lot of space for food. Could be a real issue for a family of 4 staying for a week. I think the cupboards need a sort out as there were a lot of pots, pans, cooking implements etc. A hook on the back of the bathroom door would have been good too 😊

Location was fab, was sent wrong entry code by booking.com, spooky CCTV monitor in bed room, thought was TV at first, then was very disappointed and concerned. Dog friendly stuff, towels and poo bags :0. Goo lounge TV and gaming. Breakfast bar, but only two seats.
CCTV, no fridge door bin for milk etc, too few baking trays, open up and close down dinning table.
4.4
Great location, dog secure outdoor area, parking for 2 cars
Could use a rack / shelf in the shower to put stuff on. We found that for 4 adults staying for a week the fridge was too small.
