It was close to the bus station
It was dirty, the bathroom smelled like bad water/drains, there was paint chipping off the wall, the door didn’t fit the wall properly so you could see into our room from the corridor, the mattress and pillows were uncomfortable and lined with plastic so were very hot, and there was no soundproofing at all so you could here all the other guests as well as everything going on outside. We’ve been staying in hostels and wanted a night of more luxury, we were in the hotel 20 minutes and I started looking for other hotels to stay in that night because it was so unpleasant.

Ignore the photos that make it look like a nice hotel for a short business stay. Those are staged and not reality. It's in an industrial area practically devoid of restaurants. It's incredibly loud, since they leave the windows open. It's also a party hotel with matrimonial rooms available by the hour. The people can be so loud.
I wanted to pay with a US credit card, but they pretended that thier $ credit card machine was broken, so they had to charge me in colones, which cost $5 more.
The TV in my room did not get any cable channels, and after the receptionist fiddled with it and also could not get channels, she switched the input to antenna and pretended like the five channels it got was how it was supposed to be.
Anyhow, for $42 a night, it wasn't the end of the world... It was clean..., but it wasn't what Booking.com led me to believe it would be.

Perfect for a nights stopover, large room with a towel, plenty of bathrooms and access to a kitchen.
The walls to the room were very thin.

Friendly staff and very clean.
Very close to bus station which was good as we mainly used our stay in San Jose for transit elsewhere and one trip to the Pacuare river l.
Close to city centre
Bed was not very comfy and it was quite loud at night as the road outside of quite busy.

Really small room with no window.

Close to the MEPE bus station if you are planning on travelling to Limon, Cahuita or Puerto Viejo.
The
The room was full of cockroaches when I arrived. There were dead ones on the nightstand and the floor and living ones all over the wall and the floor.
The hotel is next to a busy street so it was almost impossible to get a good night rest after a long journey.
The area of the hotel might not be safe at night for female solo travellers.

The staff at the front desk was polite and checked me in at 1:00 AM since I arrived from the airport late. They provided me with an air conditioning remote and it worked well. The door of my room locked.
I have never smelled such a horrible stench in a hotel bathroom as this. It wasn’t just a sewage type scent it was a mix of rotten old pipes and something decaying. I was half convinced there was something dead in the bathroom, although I didn’t see anything obvious it gave me Jeffrey Dahmer vibes it was terrifying. Another terrible thing was there was multiple human hairs on my bed by the pillows, it made me question whether they even changed the sheets or not. The towels were extremely stained and the blanket they have looked like it was gotten out of a donation bin. Not to mention the area surrounding felt extremely unsafe. Everything was boarded up closed. I have never felt so queasy and uncomfortable in a hotel even just for one night. Maybe my particular experience was bad. I do have housekeeping experience and it was just red flags all over the room. I never write reviews but this hotel room was so bad I had to.

location good and 24 hour reception
the first few nights I stayed in a nice room. however, this next room was not as described. it did not have a window let alone the nice view it promised , the bed was so uncomfy and itchy, potentially caused by the many many bugs I found in my room. in one night I saw at least 20 (I have pics as proof). the showers hot water did not work either and the bedside table was in a bad condition

the hotel is clean and facilities are good. there is a restaurant available at good prices and the rooms are big with their own en suites. wifi is very good too
hot water not working properly and found a bug in my room

Room was dirty, rusty

Good location if u have to stay overnight to catch a bus.
The room was acceptably clean. The shower hot. The bathroom was ok.
There are places to buy food till 10pm nearby.
Haven't had any issue with the room.
The area is not good and the rooms are a bit noisy. It s a hr hotel, therefore the only purpose should be the location to catch a bus the day after. If you want to visit the city, do not recommend to stay in this location.

bathroom is incredibly small. No hot water to shower

was a bit dirty, the bed wasn’t so comfortable and there was no window in the room for fresh air.

the location is the only good thing
I stayed here as a backpacker as it was cheaper than two dorm beds and was close to the bus station and it was awful! there was hair in our bed as the sheets haven’t been washed, cockroaches in the bathroom, the bed was hard and uncomfortable. It was cold and there was only one blanket that didn’t fit across the whole bed. When I asked (in Spanish) for a second one the staff were SO rude, ignored me and wouldn’t give me one even though I said their blanket didn’t fit the bed. The rooms are also absolutely tiny with no window (just one that faces the corridor) and it’s so loud as people play music on their phones without headphones. Honestly better off in a hostel!

We chose this location as it was only a ten minute walk from the bus terminal so we could get a coach early the next morning. There was a great little café around the corner from this hotel with lovely pastries
There were windows from the room into the hallway which meant that whenever someone turned the hallway light on it shone into the room and woke me up a couple of times. Walls were very thin and people coming in/talking was easily heard. Could also hear the cars on the road so overall not a quiet night. There was hair in the bathroom sink and on the floor so I'm not sure on the level of cleanliness and the bed was pretty hard. It was only for a night so it was passable but I wouldn't return.

Clean, hot water
The product used to clean smells really bad and strong that it have me a headache and no window

Very basic but comfortable hotel. Even though it says no parking, actually you can park right in front of the hotel, by the street, the hotel even has camera watching your car. Wonderful, very good deal.
