The staff were awesome and very helpful. Good English is spoken at the desk. They changed our room on request after the incessant lift bell and the loud rubbish collection in the street prevented us from sleeping. The room we spent the last 2 nights in was great #9614. Housekeeping were cheerful and diligent. Everything was spotless and the pure cotton sheets were a real luxury. The hotel is 5 - 10 mins walk from the waterfront and there are innumerable cheap and cheerful local eateries within a few minutes, by foot. The route from the airport was direct.. A jug and a refrigerator in the room were very helpful.

Our initial room ( #9401) was on the fourth level and just down the corridor from the lift. Ask for a room on the 6th level, particularly on a Sunday night when the hour long rubbish collection begins at midnight. In order to avoid the disruption of the lift ding - dong, ask for a room around the corner from the lift and the stairwell. The aircon in our first room did not work . More direct light to enable reading would be good. The internet dropped out frequently.

You can stay here for one night if you need a short and cheap option, but not longer than it.

The best thing in this hotel is its location. They also provide a free ride to the airport, but you should know about it and ask them. The bathroom is new, however, not really comfortable. There is a kettle in the room, and they provide some cheap coffee, so you can arrange some breakfast for yourself.

Everything is very old including air conditioner that seemed to be broken, but the staff said that there was some switch that I should know I have to switch on, and then it would work. The towels were so old that lost their white colour and where gray-yellow. There is a fridge in the room, but it was not possible to close it. The windows are not sound-protecting, and you can hear a street noise during the night. As my window was turned to the parking, I really had it. Additional noise comes from elevator: you hear the sound of it when it stops on each floor.

Old hotel but yet clean and comfortable bed with decent bathroom space with superb location.

A little bit smelly in the corridor of 6th floor. But not too strong.

The room is so comfortable, clean and quiet. Size of room is big and everything is more than expected. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Not for the faint hearted

In contrast the room had a lovely shower room. It was large, bright and modern. I left the door open so the bedroom didn't feel as claustrophobic. The hotel is placed in a perfect area and you can walk no problem to the malls or harbour area. You can sit outside in the 'square' where there are benches and watch the world go by. Plenty little shops and places to eat on the doorstep. I have to say the staff were lovely. Very welcoming, cheery and helpful.

Unfortunately the room had a terrible damp kind of smell. When l sat on the bed the first night l wasn't sure if it was actually mildly damp or if it was the humidity. This improved but the room still smelt awful. Although the room was an ok size and l'd chosen one with a window, it was so dark and claustrophobic. The window had a gap when closed and was extremely old and ill fitting. The decor totally out dated and gloomy.
