Extremely helpful and friendly staff. They took my case up and down from the room as I find winding stairs tricky. They also gave me a room on first floor rather than second when they saw I am old. The breakfast was very good; lots of orange juice, decent bacon, mushrooms and fresh tomatoes.
The blinds in the room did not hide the neon light outside sufficiently, even when fully closed. It would also be helpful to have instructions for the shower. This is a common problem everywhere.
3.3
Not a lot
Redecorated substandard quality.
Grubby corridors, which need renovation
Overpriced as such. Breakfast should have been included for £100.00 per double room

The handrails were really sticky and I was put on the 4th floor where it smelt musty and mouldy. The window was locked but a huge draft was coming in and a constant “whistling” noise both nights.
3.3
The room was big, clean and comfortable.
3.3
Nice view of the sea, clean room, decent bathroom facilities and friendly staff.
Parking was very difficult to find, bed was very uncomfortable

I liked Everything it was so reasonably priced normally you would pay a lot more for a single person. Cars were moved so we could park staff were friendly it was very clean the shower was good. Breakfast was prompt no waiting around. My fussy sister did not like the tea it was replaced with coffee and extra butter for my home made bread. Loverly clean towels and sheets.
What I did notice there was no telephone number in the room of who to contact if there was a problem. But that is just constructive criticism. And I forgot to ask if there were any steps there were but we managed and I am 71

We didn't stay at this hotel. We stayed in hasting nz. We booked this hotel by mistake and was hoping for a refund
Not getting our money back

Location
We have paid twice for one night. On arrival the computer the receptionist used said we hadn't paid and he would not accept payment confirmation email I provided. So we paid again.
We have raised a complaint with booking.com and over a week later we are waiting a refund.
The room was tired and basic which we accepted for 1 night.
The blind did not cover the whole window.

Location was great for my work purposes.
There was no one at the hotel until 2pm. Despite the newly renovated rooms, the hotel is in need of modernisation. There was no hair dryer in the bedroom.
3.3
From the outside the place looks amazing. There is a onsite pub, which also looks great.
Very small carpark, which we didn't manage to use. Outdated and worn off interior. The paint peeling off the ceiling.
3.3
Staff were great, and when the first room had a TV that didn't work, they simply switched my room - very kind.
Bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was good.
Only "fault" was that the radiators were not up to warming a big room on what was a very cold evening.

The building is really interesting and on a hill so you get a view of the sea if you’re lucky. The staff were so lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. There’s a bus stop right outside the front door that runs into town for £2.
My fav bit were the sheets! I’ve never seen such white sheets and towels. I’ll need to get some tips from the cleaning staff. There’s a great little bar downstairs which i loved.
Could possibly do with some soap in the bathroom as i didn’t have any with me.

staff were very welcoming, room was lovely. breakfast was delicious!
the room was freezing, it felt as if were sleeping outside and didn’t manage to get a good sleep because of it.
3.3
room was fair, plenty of space
lots of stairs

The room was relatively clean, Fresh towels and tea/coffee was provided. The wifi connection was good and allowed me to work in the room.
The fact that i had to climb three long flights of stairs to get to my room. The carpets on the floor looked old and threadbare. No fan was provided in the bedroom.

Bar attendant / Reception was friendly and helpfull.
Room was awfull. The ensuite was a built in wardrobe. Shower water was cold. Barly room to turn around.
On and off horrible stench of sewage. Just awfull.

The location
Bit far from centre hastings without car

Room was comfortable, clean, and with a sea view. English breakfast was extra cost and cooked to order. Check-in was straightforward and there is a well-stocked bar. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Car park wasn't accessible on arrival due to poor parking of non-residents. No towels in room (this was quickly sorted). Communal areas - corridors and stairs - definitely in need of some love. Wi-fi not good in bedroom where signal kept dropping.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly!
No fridge in room even mini! There is no table or chairs in the room!

Breakfast was good the one morning we had it but the only positive.
No evening meals available. Small window for breakfast .Shabby fixtures and fittings .Poor housekeeping . We arrived with no where to park .Small car park and had to park on the street .Check in was in the very dated bar .Got up to the room (room 1) which was supposed to be a twin and were very disappointed straight away . Two single beds against the walls with a very small space in between them . It was one out and one in as couldn't pass each other . A shabby wardrobe and chest of drawers with no chair/s as no room . Window was cracked with sticky back fake stained glass plastic over the cracked window. Window rattled constantly and was draughty .Window blind was broken so couldn't raise it to let light in .Bathroom was ok but shower door handle broken and missing . Damp patches all over the walls including blown plaster above the radiator. Floor was dusty and housing keeping came in twice ,first time changed towels and empted waste paper bin .Second time emptied the bin again but couldn't see what else had been done . We were short of toilet tissue after our first night and told the barman . He disappeared and returned with a roll which he handed me over the bar . Staff didn't seem to want to provide service apart from the lady that served us breakfast on our first and only morning we made it down in time . Tv never had a signal and Wi-fi was poor which left us with no option but to go to bed because the bar was shut and no staff at 10.20pm after a days touring .We left on the Wednesday morning with 3 more nights left of our booked and paid stay .Couldn't take any more .I requested a partial refund and was told that the manager was staying in another hotel (I bet he was) and that he would ring me to discuss the problems and refund . Waited a week with no phone call . Phoned the hotel again and was told by the person that answered that they would phone me . Still waiting ! Would never recommend or stay here again.

The price was cheap, was all clean, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. If you want cheap and friendly then this is perfect
The price was cheap and it is what we got, the doors could only slam, the shower was terrible and the beds were uncomfortable, but it was cheap and therefore we didn’t expect much and it was exactly that. If you want cheap and friendly then this is perfect

Great location, parking near by.
It wasn’t the cleanest on the stairs
3.3
Bar, tea/coffee
Staff, breakfast
Shower not working, heating not working , dirty common areas, dated decor, peeling p all paint, no disability access

Breakfast was cooked by a very nice young lady. Perfect . Last day by the chef also very good.
Staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble . Room at top staff offered to take bags up
No chair in room staff brought chair up
Asked if I could use the breakfast room to work, again no problem
Asked for directions to the local shop, staff offered to drop me off
This was a budget room but it was clean and had what I needed generally. This was the only room left.
So good being able to park in the hotel car park
Really lovely little covered space and garden at front needs a bit of TLC .
Maybe making sure what breakfast items are available say a little printed menu

The room was very clean and locals In the bar was very welcoming

I liked how accommodating the management were especially as I was arriving very late at night. They also helped me take all my luggage upstairs. A very kind man
3.3
Location was great very close to the town centre. Bedding was clean and fresh
There was water staining on the ceiling from a previous leak. This was quite substantial and looked bad. One of the the windows had two cracks in it. It was cold with draughts coming from the door and one of the windows and we had no heating in the room. The entrance hallway carpet was grubby and stained and looked dated. The main issue however was I took my family with me my two children are both young and we were unable to sleep especially the children because of loud drum and bass playing in the bar area until gone 4am. Our room was right above the bar when we went down to ask if it can be turned down the staff made it unclear who the manager was and they were all extremely INTOXICATED and difficult to deal with. As a result we checked out first thing in the morning
3.3
very pleasant barman
No internet / No tv signal
3.3
The gentleman working behind the bar did his best to welcome us on arrival.
The appearance/room did not match pictures used on booking.com. The hotel and room was very tired in appearance.
The atmosphere was uncomfortable due to over friendly gentleman in the bar. I would not of felt safe staying there on my own.
3.3
Gary the owner ..lovely man . Let me bring my puppy and welcomed us on arrival .

Arrived 6pm ish and room wasn’t ready, showed an alternate but smaller so opted for original. very basic, en-suite bathroom door wouldn’t shut. Bar didn’t look inviting so went to the town for a drink. Booked breakfast 7:30-8:00 but cook advised 8:30 and as we had to be off couldn’t wait. Not somewhere we would go back to!
