Property was as advertised. A little aged / worn down. Steep driveway with narrow gate at road.

Literally, this house is on top of a hill. The view over the lake was beautiful!!! My family reunion was spent in a 4 bedroom home that was all we could've asked for. We had a game room upstairs that we enjoyed. Our plans were to stay in the house and talk all weekend but we ended up at the marina and enjoyed shopping and sitting by the water talking about old times. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend.

We had a great weekend getaway at The Lookout! There were 8 adults and we all loved the property. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable (and firm) the king bed was! We hate soft beds. Everyone else said the beds were great too.
The ice maker and fridge were remarkably cold which we were a pleasant surprise (a rental with a good ice machine?! Wow!). I also read a review that the deck was dangerous which i totally disagree with. It was weathered, but structurally sound 100%. I dont know why people thought it wasn't sturdy. We saw no bugs inside whatsoever which is hard for a house set in the woods.
The grill worked well, the AC worked really well upstairs and down, hot tub was super hot, honestly everything exceeded our expectations for a cozy, relaxed rental!
If i had any critiques, one couch was quite old and worn and the outside trash cans might be small for an extended stay or lots of guests.
We really had a great time and were so pleased with everything! Thank you for a great time!

The house wasn't clean and it had huge cockroaches The balcony is old and dangerous. the dog walked on the balcony and it shook. Underneath the balcony the foundation/ beams are split in many places. We submitted photos. THE BEDS WERE THE WORST. We left early due to our aching bodies from the springs in the mattress ALL OF THEM! The ceiling fan light fell down and almost hit me in the head. I was offered a refund then the cost went up so they don't want to give hardly anything back. Sad Bad Business

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was idea for what our family loves to do - ski and boat on the lake. Everything in house was as advertised.

Our trip wasn’t for pleasure, other than the steep driveway the house was just fine for us

We loved it. Stayed here for a wedding, and it was perfect for a group.

I loved the views and the house had a lot of fun things to do. We loved the pool table and hot tub. House is close to the city but very remote. Communication with property manager was easy and fast. There were some broken/loose furniture and the deck didn’t look too safe.

Nice stay for a family of 8 adults and one dog! As noted in some of the reviews you can hear the road but it wasn’t a bother. The spacious second floor was comfortable and it was easy to prepare meals and eat together. We visited the Appalachian Center for Craft galleries and Harmony Lane Farm. I highly recommend both of those places.

We stayed here with our four kids (ages 7-15) for fall break. The location was great and the views are beautiful. We enjoyed the fire pit( although it would have been nice if there was a lighter in the house to light it- we used the grill to light a stick then get the fire going).
The kids were in the hot tub every day and we all enjoyed the pool table.
The back bedroom to the right past the stairs when you walk in could use a new mattress. It was way too soft, and sunk in toward the middle.
Overall, we had a great time and would come back again.

We had 8 adult family members use this as our base camp for a week. Many beautiful waterfalls around to hike, visited wineries distilleries, toured a cave, and visited Nashville. Very nice house. We were able to cook a few meals and they had great selection of pots and pans.

The property was great and provided everything the listing said was included. The only thing I would warn others about is the overly steep driveway. We would have rented a different vehicle if we would have known the driveway was straight up and down with a narrow turn at the top. We made it work but it was definitely difficult with our 8 passenger car, and I would ensure that the tires are good on whatever car you rent so you can make it up the steep drive without trouble.

Lake stay
A few hiccups but the management company was very helpful and responsive. The house and furniture are a bit dated but we had everything we needed. We cooked each night and kitchen is well stocked. Great view of lake. Space to spread out a bit and relax.

Relaxing
The house is up on a hill surrounded by trees. Very private. The roads a little noisy but the privacy makes up for it. With the hot tub, big deck and pool table it’s a great place to unwind after hiking or being on the water.

Convenient and scenic
The proximity to lake access is amazing. Honestly, you can’t be much closer aside from having a home right next to the water which isn’t allowed at center hill. Views from the top floor are great for both sunrises and sunsets. The kitchen was well equipped and functional. Having the pool table was a nice touch.
Just a few improvement notes: since it’s dog friendly, the wear and tear on carpet and couches are more prominent. Also as others have mentioned, the driveway is super steep but manageable if you shift to a lower gear.

Everything about this house is as described. Managment is wonderful and accommodating. They are quick to handle any concerns. The views are great - pictures do not do justice!

You curve upward on the driveway and when you reach the top the world is yours! The house was very comfortable for 8 of us. The set up is perfect and we had everything we needed. We had a fire outside the whole time and could see the lake over the trees. Even though it is wonderfully by itself, the world is just a few minutes away. Hope others enjoy it as much ae we did.

Reviewer Comments:
It is a very clean house with awesome back porch views. Sleeps 8 comfortably. Only draw back for us is the noise of the highway traffic. You cannot hear it inside but sitting on the deck it is very loud. Also the master bedroom needs black out curtains. The thin red curtains do nothing to block out the light in the morning. Do not attempt to pull a boat up the driveway. The hair pin driveway curve will not work towing a boat.

The house is arranged in a bedroom/bath floor (bottom) and a living floor (kitchen, living room, dining room, pool table room and half bath). Stairs are very shallow which makes them steep for bad knee/hip issues. Roof and window leaked which didn’t affect the stay but that plus the poor general condition (deck needs sanding/painting, cheap slip covers, cheap dinnerware and flatware, etc.) was not what we expected in a $400+/night house IMHO. Beautiful lake view out the front, but they’ve let trees grow up at side by hot tub, obscuring lake. No network tv, apparently, just roku or similar. Management company very responsive.

Super Dirty
I rented this home because of the number of bedrooms and the pictures. Once we arrived, quickly it became apparent the property is neglected. From the jacuzzi being half full with dirt on the side, spiders in bathtubs and showers, pillows being soiled, the intake for the air conditioner had mold and dust, every fan was coated with dust and the dust under the pool table was unacceptable. This property has potential to be amazing but I would not stay here again.

Great getaway
This house was wonderful! Everything about this house was as pictured on the site and then some. The fact that the bedrooms are all downstairs made it convenient for those wanting to relax and the rest still were able to utilize the entire community space upstairs with out bothering. Hot tub was nice and well maintained as well as the grill. If there were anything not as pictured it's that the trees have grown in so lake wasn't as easy to see but that's what trees do the grow lol. Drive is very steep with a turn that takes a time or two to get used to it! Would definitely stay again!

While it was adequate space for our group of 7, we were disappointed with the amount of neglect in some areas. Especially for the price, which is comparable to a week in Florida. There are funny enough VHS tapes, but no way to watch them so its really odd to keep them and have them take up so much space in the living room. There are no oven mitts or pot holders. There is mold all over the bathroom shower curtain in the hall shower. There is a super weird assortment of decor and furnishings that seemed much better in the photos. This was better than camping, which is what we have done in the past during Center Hill trips, but mainly because of the AC.

Cabin had a good location to Hurricane Marina. It was a good layout and slept our large group well. The general condition of the cabin needs a few updates and a deep clean. Also the kitchen needs some TLC. Grill propane would not get over 250 so we couldn’t grill as advertised which was a little frustrating. This is a fine lake cabin for a weekend but just know it’s not updated. View could be spectacular if some of the overgrown brush were cleaned up along edges.

Will not be back
It served the purpose, we didn’t actually spend a lot of time in the house. I have to say it was one of the dirtiest places I’ve ever stayed. Every time I turned around I was seeing bugs and spiders. There were spider webs everywhere. None of the TV’s would pick up a channel. There was no view because everything was grown up blocking the view. This will not stop me from using VRBO in the future but I will not be back to this particular house.

On arrival the house was not clean. Dead bugs everywhere and the dining room and kitchen floor were not mopped. We sent the rental company a message and they sent some one over to clean. There was no cable and the TVs did not work. We had with us and they wanted to watch Tv after a long day of boating. The dishes that were in the cabinets were not very clean and we had to wash them. Not very happy with this experience.

Beautiful Lakeview
Our entire stay was perfect ! From the time we arrived, check in, cleanliness of the house, the small but sufficient yard and beautiful views were everything that we expected! The drive way is quite steep but manageable. The management went above and beyond by bringing me a few utensils that were not in the house originally and also brought propane for the gas grill ! Thank you!

Dryer didn't seem to be working, we couldn't use the TV at all (tried to hook up our computers to watch movies and couldn't), dishwasher was really old (only cleaned if you set it to pots and pans) and the toaster stopped working.
Just one of these would be no big deal but all together for a whole week it got to be pretty annoying. The house layout and size is great but it really needs some TLC/updates.
The rental company did come out and address the hot tub when we asked - so we appreciated that.

Perfect seclusion and views
The property was perfect for our group of friends to get away during COVID. Great views, secluded but convenient to state parks, and plenty of entertainment in the house. The upstairs' open floor plan was perfect for playing games while cooking dinner and eating as a group. We enjoyed the pool table and retro tv (bring your old SNES for the complete experience).

We had the best time at the Lookout. The home offered great views, all the usual creature comforts, AND was pet friendly. While it didn't have incredibly modern appliances or electronics, the wifi worked well, the pool table got plenty of use, and we brought a ton of board games to keep us busy (there are some already stocked in the home, too). Only inconvenience was that the shower didn't drain super fast. Otherwise, this property provided a great weekend getaway for our family (and pet) - we will definitely be looking to rebook in the future!

There were so many things wrong with this rental, not sure where to start. I rented this house for my family of 6, because we were in the area for a wedding. So with all the activities Friday and Saturday, we were stuck with staying here.
I have contacted the manager and written a formal complaint. Have not heard from her as of yet.
List of problems-dried eggs left in two pots, a cookie sheet had burnt food left on it, candy stuck to the headboard of king bed, broken porch swing and moldy, old tv that when we tried to watch the “World Series “ we couldn’t see any of the stats, broken and missing patio screens, dirty windows with bugs and leaves in the tracks, the fire pit was just a whole in the ground, cigarette burns in the slipcovers on all the couches and this is a no smoking unit. The first night we had an outlet blow and I called maintenance and Rick came the next day to repair.
I have photos of this and would like all of my money returned. I was embarrassed for my family to stay here. My husband and I have rented homes all over the US and this is the worst by far.
I don’t want any other family to experience what we did. And the pictures on the sight are not true to the rental.
