Outstanding!

Absolutely fantastic! Located in the very center of Kashi, on the Ganges, beautifully decorated, safe and spotless clean (not an easy enterprise in Varanasi). But it’s the service that is really outstanding… The personnel is so kind, helpful and well organized. They also serve home-cooked, healthy and delicious food, our compliments to the cook!

Would not stay again.

Centrally locating in the heart of the city. True Varanasi experience. Monkeys out varanda jumping thru some trees, dogs barking, people talking. Great "take it all in view" from roof top.

Restaurant food. Bed and only 2 pillows, all of which are really poor quality. Don't serve breakfast until past 8am. So if you have an earlier flight or schedule you're out of luck. We chose ground floor to avoid but it's right in the lobby and by the front door. Although I imagine the other rooms experience same evening noise level. Bring good ear plugs. I had.to wear ear buds playing music to get to sleep...and ambien ;)

Fuimos testigos de batallas entre animales dificiles de explicar.

La localización es buena según lo que busques. Es inaccesible por transporte así que tienes que caminar unos 10 minutos desde el punto más cercano donde te puede dejar un vehiculo. La habitación estaba en muy buen estado, muy limpia y era muy bonita. El baño, aprobado justo. Uno de los pocos hoteles que nos ofreció gel de ducha. Las camas eran de buena calidad. El desayuno se sirve a la habitación y tienen bastantes opciones y son muy generosos con las cantidades.

Bastante ruido por la noche en la zona, parece que los monos y los perros tienen una especie de batalla territorial justo en este hotel y por la noche se lia parda. Perros ladrando, monos saltando por el techo y haciendo ruido, es una locura. Parece broma, pero no lo es.

Worth it

The good experience started with the suttle provided by them, the drive picked us in the air port. I strongly recommend to book this service, mainly because the VARANASI is not easy city to other drivers find the hotel. The location is right in front of the gange river, we got a room with balcony and river front. They have excellent kitchen available. Room is very confy with heater for cold nights

I totally recomand

I totally recomand this hotel. The manager welcomed us on our arrival, you can book also a guide for the city tour or boat(I did not book but the guide has many years of experience and seems to be a good man). The room is beautiful and clean, decorated in traditional style, the building is very old but modern.There were complimentary bottles of water, bathroom was ok, hot water non-stop. We had a little balcony, with Ganges view (there were some trees in front so no excelent view but there is a beautiful rooftop on the building where we ate) The breakfast was included, you can choose from multiple options including special delicious Indian dishes which are cooked and served by Binum(sorry if this is not the correct name, please correct me). He is a good man, very helpful and very friendly, it was really nice to meet him!

Friendly, welcoming, peaceful and comfortable guesthouse in the best location

Incredible location, right on the river in the middle of the main ghats, walking distance from all the main sights of Varanasi. Yet also very peaceful inside despite its central location. Great roof terrace on which you can have breakfast overlooking the Ganges below. Our room was very comfortable, with really comfy beds, and even had a heater which was very welcome on the cooler winter nights. Friendly staff, and they were also flexible with our booking when our dates changed slightly. They also arranged a car to meet us from the airport. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Varanasi.

Nothing about the guesthouse itself. Just that the sunset boat trip we booked through them was rather more expensive than if we'd booked a boat directly ourselves (we only discovered this afterwards).

Schöne Lage mit Abstrichen

Sehr schone Location. Wir hatten ein tolles Zimmer mit Blick auf den Ganges. Die Angestellten waren überaus nett und hilfsbereit.

Dank der Rezesionen hier auf der Seite, waren wir was den Manager des Hotels betraf vorgewarnt und auf die Situation eingestellt. Ich kann die Kommentare in den Bewertungen sehr gut nachvollzieren aber wir kamen zum Glück gut zurecht, da wir alle Touren schon im Vorhinein gebucht hatten. Im Haus herrschte eine Eiseskälte. Zum Glück war in unserem Zimmer ein kleiner tragbarer Heizlüfter, der uns über das Schlimmste hinwegbrachte. Das Zimmer war dann etwas warm, das Badezimmer allerdings nicht. Unser Zimmer wurde nicht geputzt, da es mit einem Vorhängeschloß zuzumachen war und es dazu wohl keinen Zweitschlüssel gab. Man bot uns zwar an, das Zimmer zu putzen als wir um 15 Uhr ins Hotel zurückkamen, aber das wollten wir dann auch nicht, sondern ausruhen. Trotz der tollen Lage würden wir dort nicht mehr buchen. Preis Leistung stimmen nicht

Great stay on the ghats.

Beautifully decorated heritage building with all the modern amenities! The narrow streets that the hotel is on give you an authentic Varanasi feeling. It’s a short walk (can be confusing though the first time) from the main road or Dashaswamedh ghat.

The steep stairs, one floor is like 2 floors in the western houses 😀. The high ceilings look awesome though.

Très bonne situation au bord du Gange

Hotel très bien situé. Chambre très grande . Personnel très attentif.

Chambre très bruyante ( chiens, population locale et bruit de machine à laver dès 5 h du matin). Salle de bain très petite (max 2 m2) devrait absolument être rénovée . L'écoulement sous l'évier se détache et donc dès les premières gouttes les pieds sont également mouillés . Des gouttes d'eau tombent continuellement du plafond et humidifient tout .Le rapport qualité prix n'est pas bon du tout.

Decent place for Varanasi

Good location, reasonable clean, and unique style. Also, they allowed me early check in and later check out, which is very nice of them!

Instead of Gang view you’ll see a trash bin view with the cows eating from it 😅 Also, my room was too close to the reception, so it was too noisy in the morning

La localización es muy buena teniendo en cuenta benarés.

La guía que tienen en el hotel trató de estafarnos vendiéndonos una excursión que no llegamos a hacer. Los precios de las excursiones/actividades que ofrecen cudriplican los que te ofreceran en la calle. Por suerte nos acabaron devolviendo el dinero del paseo en barca que nunca llegó, pero hubo que enfadarse. El dueño es un señor mayor que regenta el hotel desde hace años, sabe como llevarlo y a salvo el incidente de la guía, se nos dio muy buen trato.

Things to consider

We liked that the view we had in our room (upper floor) had a good view of the Ganges - we didn’t know we didn’t book that already so asked to upgrade when we got there. The room was spacious and comfy. The breakfast was decent, we had omelettes and porridge. The staff were friendly. We had a guy Vinod who helped us a lot to get familiar with the area. He was kind. We also booked a tour with them, it was expensive but Gagan was a great tour guide so it made up for it.

The walk to the property isn’t the best.

Location of the guest house is difficult to reach and almost in a type of slum area.. lot of garbage, cows, cow dungs and dogs on the connecting road.. guest house is not suitable for any couple, family and business trips..

Pathetic Policies

Location was pathetic not accessible The owner is aged and very slow, Takes 30 minutes to check in. Tries to sell additional activities at the time of check in Doesn't give a bill for the food you order Food is very expensive compared to its worth There is no breakfast spread The staff tries to haggle so you order less. They cut corners and avoid giving you breakfast They mention orange juice but it's actually bottled minute maid pulpy and not any fresh juice The aged owner is very grumpy, you have to do things his way or he'll keep bickering Owner has kept the hotel understaffed. Staff is too stretched and have to work much more than normal because the owner cuts corners to make more money. This results in delayed service. Staff too is angry with the man This is not a heritage hotel it's a heritage home stay. Understand the difference.

Shiva Ganges View is wonderful, authentic haveli in a great location at Mansarovar Ghat. Tandon and his team are friendly, professional, helpful and the food is delicious. The rooms are refurbished. The bathrooms are a little outdated but functional. The views of the river are amazing.

Beautiful heritage home

The whole house is a heritage home, everything feels historic. The owner and the staff are very nice, friendly and really helpful. We arrived early and were given a place to rest and have breakfast until our room was ready. The hotel arranged a pick-up and a drop at the train station, both very early but really perfect. The location is great, directly at the ghat.

It would be nice to have some shade on the roof terrace. There is only one aircon in the family room, so even with the door open you can either have a warm room or the you would have to chill the other room really low.

Great location in the heart of the old city. Beautiful house with roof top. Nice yoga class (extra).

I arrived on day 2 of my reservation for transportation reasons. However I had to wait for my room almost 1 hour, and the bathroom was not clean at all. The staff did not wake up to organize my early taxi to the airport. This is the worst welcome I got in India among the 10 hotels/guesthouses I have visited during my trip (and most of them were cheaper than this one).

Great stay, with some common issues.

Friendly staff. Big rooms. Clean enough. Tasty breakfast. Good enough wifi. 1 minute walk to the Ganges river.

Overpriced tours. Book on Airbnb instead with Avinash or on Viator. Common issue in Varanasi : the narrow streets to get to the guesthouse A/C in the upstairs king room didn't cool enough and the remote did not work.. The bed offered is not a king bed. It is two beds side by side. The boss begged for a good review before we left. Old bathrooms but very functional. ( see pictures)

Beautiful room with river view

Beautiful family run place, clean spacious room and amazing view! Located right in front of the main ghats, we spent 3 nights here and felt at home! The owner and all the staff were lovely, always available for any need! We booked the top floor room which is right in front of the rooftop terrace, also the rooms on second floor have river view and are beautiful! They also have a taxi service from/to the airport (for better price than local taxi) and they bring you right to the place through the little street , was perfect for us!

The hotel do brokage, eat share from guide transport etc ,no good food or very poor breakfast provided by the facility never ever seen like this.

Costly room long distance travel by walk to facility from main drop of car, poor services provided, home &house together of home. Breakfast very bad long awaiting. Owner is very rude behaviours.
