The staff at the reception was nice, helpful and professional. However I see the signs that the hotel is getting a bit exhausted and some things need to get changed. The bathroom needs better cleaning, as i noticed a couple of hairs on the walls, the shower door was mirky with the soap. A yellow stain on the sheet.
Dinner. Overcooked meat, hard to chew, done without any skills for cooking

Staff were friendly and helpful. My bed was comfy, shower, television all great. However I was in a corner room and there was a lot of noise outside. At one time I thought someone was trying to get into my room.
The worst breakfast I've ever had, the bacon was really think and looked uncooked and as though it had been left in the sun to harden.

Location and staff were lovely
Parking is expensive. Building is very old. Air conditioning needs upgrading. Breakfast was very average.

Location was great and bed was super comfy
I stayed 4 nights and had to ask twice in that time to have my room serviced. The chef was sick one day so only bar snacks on offer and the cheese rolls were so hard that you couldn’t eat them

Location is great. Staff very helpful.
Not so much better but aspects of the hotel are looking tired. Extra towel in bathroom would be appreciated

The front desk and staff were accommodating when we asked for a refund, they promptly agreed and we were allowed to leave immediately.
The room was filthy. There were squashed bugs on the floor and ceiling; the room wreaked of stale cigarette as there was a small balcony where people smoked (and littered all their cigarette butts); the bathroom was dirty; there was rubbish still in the bin; there was a fresh, yellow liquid stain on the bathroom towels; there was litter under the beds and the walls were grimy - you could literally see the dirt. Our rate wasn't particularly cheap either, so was hugely disappointed with the quality. It was so gross, e didn't even want to sit down! Sorry, but the pictures do not accurately represent -- a good dose of bleach and upgrade of the shower curtain would go a long way. Upside was the staff were accommodating- it's like they understood where I was coming from and immediately agreed with my assessment and allowed us to cancel our booking for a full refund. Grateful for that.

Location was great, beds were comfy, we had a balcony with a view of the harbour which was nice. The place was well priced for what it was and I would stay again.
Loud A/C that was either on or off. The pillows were very flat and there were no extras and the room was only set up for two people even though we had 3 staying in the room. Also the plugs were all over the place but not anywhere convenient. These are just minor though and didn’t ruin our stay at all!

helpful and accommodating staff and receptionists, nice breakfast, and comfortable beds - the room wasn't very spacious, but it had all the amenities we needed readily available.
If you're staying on a busy night, parking might be an issue. When I called, I was told there is limited parking at the hotel but that they had additional parking further up the road. Once at the hotel, however, I was informed that it was actually just a Wilson parking lot, and they couldn't guarantee parking but would reimburse the cost. It would have been good info to have (particularly since it was a concern, and I called to check).
Thankfully, when we stayed, the staff was lovely and accommodating, so it never became a problem for us.

Amazing staff; lamb shank dinner was superb; 15 minute walk to Britomart area.
Carpet in room is ancient and deteriorating. Harbour view rooms have very little view of it. Some rooms have a very tiny shower, some have a large shower, & some have a shower over a tub. Rooms are rather small leaving very little space for the one chair.

Great bed and some good views. Warm and clean
A little slow at reception. Arrived early, didn't expect to check in early, but took a while to get a drink, then had to remind them once it was check in time. Still waited another 10 mins for key

good location, simple and has what you need, friendly staff
a little old and could use with some maintenance

The location of the property was very good, merely ten minutes walk from town, or a couple of minutes by scooter. There's a big supermarket very nearby too. Room was small but comfortable, with a view out to the main road.
Bed was insanely soft and I slept very badly on it. There's no amenities book, just a QR code that leads to a badly-designed website. Tolerable for me but wouldn't be for a lot of guests. Fridge was SO LOUD, and the lifts and corridors had water stains.

Bed was comfy
It was well below the standard expected from a 4 star Copthorne Hotel. Really it was a small budget hotel about a 15 min walk to the city centre. So the location was not convenient. The rooms were small, the public areas not very large or impressive. The breakfast offer was poor. Levels of cleanliness and service were poor. I was very disappointed with this hotel. It certainly did not live up to its marketing hype!

Not a great deal
The first room allocated to us was poor. Open the balcony door onto a palleted floor behind the entrance driveway roof.
Limited communication by the staff. Had to complain to get a better room.
The room did not smell clean but musty and the tiles in the bathroom were broken, lacked maintenance and the grouting was missing in several areas and then patched up with sealant, but with lots of gaps.

The toilet were not cleaned properly and the overall service was poor.

The location is excellent and beds are very comfortable. Service at the desk was friendly and professional.
Bathroom could be updated to have higher shower head for tall guests.

The shower leaver kept falling off when trying to change the water temperature. And could of done with thicker duvets. The room was cold and no heating.
