Nice big room
Very comfortable
Lots of pillows on the bed which is always a good thing
Very close to everything, walk to restaurants and bars
The check in process was very painful.
For some reason I couldn’t pay for my room when I checked in, I had to do a deposit which I was told was $100 but then was charged $385 which was $100 more than what the room should have been.
If I had been traveling overseas and this happened I would have been very wary that something dodgy was happening.

Staff were very accommodating and friendly. They were very helpful with parking which was most appreciated as we were there due to a family member being in ICU at North Shore Hospital. We stayed for one night initially, went home to Northland and then had to come back! Your staff remembered us and were most helpful with a last minute booking when we returned a few days later.

The room was nice and beds nice
Spa was freezing !! Barely lukewarm. Very disappointing as we chose to stay here due to you having a "spa"
4.0
Location and views. Spacious room.
House keeping not included. It always used to be and at the nightly rate it would be fair to expect bed made , kitchen and bathroom clean.
At least advise house keeping only every 3rd day, on the booking details instead of the unpleasant surprise of being told at reception at check in!
5.0
Ease of access for vehicle and pedestrian.
Lovely room with two double beds.
The view.
Temperature of shower water was not consistent.

EXCELLENT LOCATION. GOOD VIEW OF THE WAITEMATA HARBOUR
They had a power failure at 3.00 am in the morning. and do not have a back up generator.

Location perfect for us - and the sea view is always welcome. Staff friendly too. And great air conditioning!
Feels a bit like it's closing down. The restaurant closed due to refurbishment, but it hasnt been open for absolutely ages already, maybe before covid? It doesn't seem like opening it is a priority. It's just generally quiet and a bit "off" somehow. But it's still my go-to hotel for the area as it's clean, reasonably priced, and in a brilliant location.

This was a fantastic location, basically the heart of Takapuna with an amazing view of the gulf from the 17th floor
The Spencer was obviously an amazing place in it's just day, that was many years ago apparently.
If a balcony door was open the wind whistled through the main door louder than the kettle boiling and the furniture is now very dated.
The bathroom grouting was black in many places as was the seal on the screen over the bath for the shower.
There was a generally musty smell throughout the floor which they had tried to disguise with a room spray that was quite over powering

Great location, close to Takapuna beach, shops and restaurants. very comfortable and attractive room with views over Auckland city. slightly more pricey than other options but totally worth it. Will definitely use again.

Towels were not changed as other Hotels do on a daily basis.
Carpark given to someone else on Second day when we got back from being out for the day was offered a tiny park or loading bay after paying $30 per day for parking.
We were not advised when booked in that the air conditioning unit in our room was to be serviced the next morning, instead we got a bang on the door 9.15 and told someone was coming to change the filters. I was still in my Pj's not very good customer service from property manager.

Love the pool and gym, nice rooms, good location, lovely staff.
It was a shame the bar and restaurant weren’t open but totally understandable and there are lots of fantastic options in Taka. Great to have a selection of ding dinners available to heat up in your room.
