About this cottage rental
GOOSE COVE COTTAGE
Three steps gets you onto the new wooden deck of Goose Cove Cottage, then one more step in you'll find 950 square feet of light and airy living space with Caribbean style decor and all the comforts of home. This newly remodeled home offers one bedroom with a queen size bed and two additional single beds in the first half of the living room that can be combined into a king. Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen with washer/dryer, coffee maker, microwave, full size refrigerator, oven and dining set. Also the cottage has Wi-Fi, a 50" flat-screen TV with a DVD player with movies, a wall mounted air conditioning heat pump, furnished outdoor deck with dining area and charcoal grill, boat ramp and dock and the coolest fish-cleaning station for your daily catch.
There is no cable tv. For your entertainment, our television is equipped with Roku, a device that provides over 40 channels, or applications. We provide access to premium channels including Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN. If you would also like to access Netflix or Amazon Prime, you can log in with your own credentials.
Spectacular views of the gulf, especially at sunset are seen from both the kitchen, living room and front deck. Throw on your bathing suit in the morning and head down the road to relax on the beach or launch your boat right in the backyard. Next to the ramp, the boat dock out back on the canal allows fisherman to keep their boats in the water, but watch the tides to ensure enough water flow to get out to the gulf when ready to fish. This property is located on a commercial fishing/clamming canal as well as the Gulf of Mexico making it a unique property in a one-of-a-kind town. Like to fish but didn’t bring a boat, you can fish and crab right from our dock or join others on the new huge fishing pier downtown. Or take one of the many excursions offered by boat Captains off Dock Street to fish or sight-see the many islands that make up the Cedar Keys.
When the sun is setting, step out on the front deck to feel the breeze and enjoy the spectacular sunset view over the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. You may see a school of dolphin cavorting in the cove right in front of you or even the swirl of a black drum close enough to make you want to throw a line out. When hunger strikes you'll find everything you need to cook up mouth watering dishes and if you're a fan of the world famous Cedar Key farm raised clams, walk down a few doors to get some from our local clam wholesaler. Cedar Key also offers outstanding local cuisine in its many casual dining restaurants. Check out terrific local musicians performing around town including Steamers Bar & Grill and the Island Hotel.
THE LOCAL AREA
Situated in the center of Florida's Nature Coast, Cedar Key offers nature lovers amazing bird watching with soaring eagles and ospreys and migrating birds galore. For fishermen, its a fishing paradise of Redfish, Trout, Drum and much more. Check out the lighthouse when open on Seahorse Key operated by the University of Florida who just built a new marine research facility on the island to study the diverse marine wildlife of the area. The area also has multiple art galleries and studios and two museums featuring Old Florida and the history of the area.
Everything in this "Old Florida" style fishing and clamming village is within easy walking and biking distance. The City Park offers a nice beach with a pavilion, outdoor showers, and all the facilities you need to enjoy a pleasant Gulf side afternoon. Stroll around town and watch the crabbers checking their traps, fishermen bringing in their catch and dolphins jumping from the water.
Cedar Key hosts several festivals during the year so get your reservations early if you plan to attend one as the town fills up fast on those weekends. Special events include the Seafood Festival in October, the Art Festival in April, the Small Craft Boat Festival, the Pirate Festival and a kayak festival. Cedar Key is gaining popularity during Florida's Gulf Coast Scalloping season. And Fisherman know it for the many fishing tournaments during the year.
From Goose Cove Cottage the walk to town and the city’s beach is a leisurely 20 minutes along picturesque streets. The natural beauty of Cedar key and its slow pace allow visitors to feel what old Florida must have been like years ago allowing for very restful vacations. Whether you are here to relax, sit and read a book, kayak, fish, bike or just enjoy the diverse wildlife, Goose Cove Cottage can accommodate you comfortably.

Wonderful property for those looking for beautiful views and excellent fishing!

We enjoyed having a back dock and views of the Bay from the kitchen window. This is a Mobile Home, was updated, clean and well kept. People were friendly and we rented golf cart from neighbor. The only issue we saw was dock had loose boards sticking up that just need some attention.
Overall a great experience!

We were looking for a place to have "us" time with my wife, and Bill place has been just PERFECT. Suggestion: avoid Duncan restaurant, go to Steamers instead!

Short trip to Restaurants and Bars, Amazing View of Gulf. Had all the amenities we needed.
4.8
The house was nice, as described, and met our needs. We would have enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the view, but the weather and bugs didn't really allow for that. Probably not the ideal time to visit.

The cottage was exactly as advertised and pictured. It was very clean and I enjoyed my stay in Cedar Key.

This was I think the third time over the last couple of years that we've rented from Bill, but our first stay in Goose Cove Cottage. It is small, but suited our needs really well. We have two, miniature dachshunds They loved it because it's really accessible and has great front and back yard. Lots of sun on the porch. Great fishing whole in the back (put your line in when the tide is going out). It's just a really neat place and a neat little community near the water. Quiet, comfortable, clean -- and just a very short golf cart ride to everything in Cedar Key. Two thumbs up. CS

Cedar Key Vacation
we were here for 3 nights. loved the location. very quiet. beautiful views. back bedroom has a low ceiling and is too warm, so we slept in the living room, had to push the twin beds together which worked out fine. we appreciated the gate on the front deck, our toddler loves being outside, but a shade umbrella would have made it more comfortable. house is very clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen.

Great stay
We had a great time. Great communication and information!

Okay, this cottage is a bit on the smaller side, with a low ceiling, but I'm 6' 5" and had no problem. The down-to-earth neighbors embraced this proud Yankee and made me feel welcome. Introduce yourself and then also get to know the good-natured dogs who wander freely and pay friendly visits content with receiving a scratch and a pat. Wonderful view all day of birds and jumping fish and the amazing star gazing at night will make you wish on a star for a return visit.

Cottage with a View
We loved the location and view of the Gulf. We rented a golf cart from Bobby and loved riding all over the island. Our only suggestion would be an umbrella for the deck. Loved our time in Cedar Key.

Amazing and relaxing!!!
I went to Cedar Key for New Years. With my best friend from elementary school. We were looking for some place we could relax without all the party and loudness, and this property was PERFECT!!! The front porch was awesome to sit and relax there looking at the gulf. We grilled dinners on the grill and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The place was the perfect size and location for us! The neighbor had a golf cart we rented which was very easy as he lived right down the street. Mr. Bill was so nice, he let us come a day early and stay a day later too. (For an extra cost of course, but he was flexible with the dates which was great! Overall experience was top notch! We will be back!

Weekend Getaway
It is a great lot and very cozy, but would be a bit small/tight for a big family or any two families trying to stay. Really only one small bed room.

I was expecting a cottage. This is a trailer and it was clean. Pretty view!

The local artwork that decorated the cottage was a welcome surprise. We also liked how close the cottage as to the open gulf and the view of the golf.

Cedar Key mini getaway
Overall the inside was comfortable and the kitchen well appointed with cooking utensils and pots and pans. Oven could use a good cleaning and the air conditioner in bedroom left me very warm at night.
The front deck had a great view, I never saw dolphins but did see a large shark swimming in the morning. However, the deck was very hot in the afternoon and could use an awning or a deck umbrella for comfort.
The dock/kayak/boat ramp was a major disappointment, all mud for more than half the day.
I go on mini-getaways several times a year, this one was my least favorites. Overall, 5/10!
