Location, and the condition of the property was excellent.
4.3
The location , facilities were excellent . The attention to detail & breakfast was exceptional
Nothing , All was beyond perfect
4.3
Beautiful building, beds very comfortable and staff very helpful and friendly.
Spa very over priced and breakfast at 31 Euros per head very over the top for what was offered.
4.3
The location is perfect with easy local parking. It’s a short walk to restaurants and a very short walk to the cathedral. The rooms are beautiful,
Wonderful breakfast but perhaps a bit pricey?!
4.3
Extreme friendliness of staff

Great location, very little else to like. This is a 2 star hotel masquerading as four star. At check-in the very officious receptionist set the tone for the stay. Having just arrived from a very good hotel the standard was even more marked, the picture of their swimming pool for example makes it look much larger than it is, my guess is 6 x 12 that's feet not meters.
The room was very tired and the air conditioning unit barely worked. It was 30C outside and the unit was situated in the corridor between the bedroom and bathroom. The bath had a hand held shower with nowhere to hang the shower head. no shower screen or curtain, awful. If we hadn't spent the previous 8 hours travelling we would have checked out and gone elsewhere I did toy with the idea of sleeping in the car at least the air con worked.

Beautiful property. Nice breakfast. Great location.
Slightly expensive. But a true gem!
4.3
great location and lovely building.
probably a bit expensive for what it is.

stunningly beautiful
all of it

Location fantastic, right in the centre of town. Very old building, tastefully restored.
Limited restaurant menu.

Stylish, great location, helpful staff, upgraded!
Stairs up to the room had to be “negotiated” 😉

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are lovely though our room this time was quite small.
For 339 euros out of season on a weekday it seemed pretty expensive - it was a small room and I believe double bed. The tea coffee facilities in the room v poor. One tea bag earl grey and 2 instant coffee sachets with full cream as only milk option - very poor for 4 star hotel in 2023. Also when I asked for more tea bags I was given 2 more - hardly generous so not enough for a cup of tea when we arrived and in the morning. Many people staying here are travelling through France and arrive tired this needs better consideration.
4.3
extremely overpriced. No normal shower in the bathroom, taking a shower must me done handheld standing in the bathtub.
no decent coffee facility in the room, only one sachet with nescafe powder coffee.

Great building, quiet peaceful location.

Breakfast was good but expensive
We have been loyal customers for 10 years. No recognition of that and receptionist astonishingly rude !
Probably won’t stay again.
4.3
Beautiful building and location
Paid over the odds for the classic double that we had.
Handheld shower with no curtain or screen
Hairdryer blew hot and cold
The only hotel we’ve stayed in recently that doesn’t have a coffee machine. Instead a kettle which you have to boil on the floor nearest to a plug with 2 sachets if Nescafé
All of the above are totally fine, but, for the price charged we expected something better.
4.3
Beautiful building in a wonderful location near the cathedral in the old part of town.
The building dates back many centuries and had been amazingly renovated.
Expensive breakfast at €31 each.
4.3
Very nice hotel in country house style, very centrally located but still very quiet. Excellent breakfast with service (no self-service) in an extra room with a fireplace. A beautiful courtyard invites you to have a glass of champagne before and after dinner. The pool is a bit small, but still gives the opportunity for a little refreshment.

Set behind the Cathedral in Troyes this old hotel is full of charm and history. Breakfast was unique in that it wasn't the usual buffet. It was brought by a waitress but no menu was provided so it was difficult to determine what could have been available for this (expensive) meal. I wonder if I had asked for braised kidneys (a favorite of mine) whether they would have been able to provide!
I had been in email contact with the hotel for a week before arrival to request a table for dinner. On the morning of our arrival I was told the restaurant was fully booked. When we arrived I asked again about dinner and I was told we would have to eat elsewhere. We asked them to book somewhere nearby that they would recommend and we ate at the La Barge nearby. It was most acceptable.
Parking is extremely difficult. There are about 6 spaces at the front door in a narrow one-way street. My wife holds a blue badge so we had to unload outside the hotel and I then had to search for a parking space. Fortunately a disabled spot was available about 100m from the hotel otherwise I would have had to search further afield.
So be warned - parking and hotel restaurant reservations are difficult!

The incredible character, location, facilities & cleanliness
4.3

i would suggest a small refrigirator in the room ..

Lovely 12 century building. Helpful staff and great location. Quiet and perfect for stop over with my dog.
4.3
Beautiful hotel friendly and excellent service.
4.3
the historic building is full of charm and sympathetically restored
uneven very steep stairs
4.3
Breakfast was fine.
Evening meal spoilt the stay.
4.3
Large, clean quiet room. In the eaves though which would have been annoying if staying longer. Bathroom didn’t have a shower (presumably the ancient timber building is a constraint).
No shower - see above.
