About this house rental
Super cute 3 bedrooms & 2 baths in quiet family area with brand new expanded patio with private Hot Tub, shady hammock, and all the comforts of home! Owned by local area photographer who’s beautiful images of Sedona and the Southwest Canyonlands graces the walls.
Cottonwood, Arizona might just be one of the sweetest areas of northern Arizona, just 90 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport yet a world apart from the hustle and bustle of "the Valley". Sitting at an elevation of 3200 ft, Cottonwood enjoys cooler temperatures all year round than that lower "Valley of the Sun", while experiencing only occasional to no snow at all, in winter.
If you have only a few days in the area and are on a budget, its just a 15 minutes drive from here to Sedona.
If you're just in the area for a week or so and want a grand tour of what the area has to offer, this is a great home base to explore the greater northern Arizona area in and around the Verde Valley and beyond.
If you are looking to escape the frigid winters of 'home' but not really in to heavy traffic and big cities, this place might just be the perfect winter get-away for you (if you plan far in advance!)
There are many destinations within an easy 30 minutes drive of here including Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek, Oak Creek Canyon, Jerome, and the wineries at Page Springs. An hour tops gets you to Prescott, and a little farther gets you to Flagstaff.
The home itself is in a quiet older family neighborhood with very little highway traffic noise outside of the local neighborhood. There are lots of big trees and birds. The home was completely renovated inside and out in 2011.
There are three bedrooms and 4 beds - the king bedroom has its own in-suite bathroom, while the queen bedroom and the 2 twin bedroom share a full bath.
All the mattresses are very new, and have been encased in zipper protected covers since purchased. Each pillow is also protected with zippered covers. All 4 beds have a 2.5-3 inch gel infused memory foam topper for a truly heavenly night's sleep. The king and queen beds have quality 600 ct cotton sheets with duvets, while the twin beds are designed in a more "young at heart" theme in mind. The kid in you will enjoy the two giant memory foam 'bean bag' chairs, a fun place for the kids to bounce around, and a very comfortable place to sit and catch up on your favorite book. The hammock in the backyard, under the "mom-mulberry" tree, is a great place to read also.
We are confident you will enjoy your stay in our super comfortable, well stocked home ~ a great place to hang out in the evenings after exploring the many points of interest that are within an easy days drive.
Many area attractions are within 15 mile radius. Within a 20 minute range or so, including historic Jerome ghost town and artist colony, the Out of Africa Wildlife Park, Tuzigoot National Monument, the golf course at Verde Santa Fe, the Page Springs wine country and tasting rooms, and of course, the magical red rock country of Sedona is just 15 minutes up the road.
At Dead Horse Ranch State Park, just 3 miles from the house, is our favorite places to bike and hike in Cottonwood. You can explore the greenbelt of the Verde River under the canopy of the town's namesake towering Cottonwood Trees that are native to the area. Above the river are the three lagoons and lots of benches and picnic tables from which to sit and enjoy the views of Mingus Mountain and the twinkling lights of Jerome. If you're a fisherman, the lagoons are well stocked with fish (though I know not what kind). Experience the magic of how shade trees drop the temperature of an area in a matter of just a few seconds, by several welcome degrees. You can park at the uptown gateway to the park (next to the old jail house) and walk or Mountain Bike the Jail Trail, under the trees, and up to the main park and the lagoons. Don't forget to check out the Tavasci Marshes in the upper Verde River and to be on the lookout for wildlife while at the park!
We used to live in Sedona, and wondered what it would be like to move to Cottonwood after living amongst the magical red rocks and both enjoy life here in Cottonwood for very important reasons ~ the conveniences of living!
Cottonwood is such a great hub. Its convenient to everywhere. Its Bike friendly, Kid friendly, Safe feeling, and has a great little funky trendy Main Street that truly has that feeling of a real 'home town' ~ something that touristy Sedona has always seemed to lack.
Seriously Cottonwood is so close to Sedona anyway, if the urge arises for a hike in the rocks, we are there in a matter of minutes, anytime we please. Feel like golfing? The Verde Santa Fe Golf course is less than 15 minutes.
Old-town Cottonwood, as well as the greater Cottonwood area, has lots of "hole-in-the-wall" restaurant choices, little shops, art galleries, and several local vineyard Wine Tasting Rooms, too.
You can experience the unique adventure of a train ride up the Verde River Gorge from historic Clarkdale, after exploring the 2 and 3 story Pueblo ruins at Tuzigoot National Monument.
Speaking of Art Galleries, the famous 'ghost town' of Jerome, Arizona is quite literally, 20 minutes UP the hill from here ~ in the foothills of Mingus Mountain, or should I say ON the edge, of the foothills. Continuing on from there, you can head over the Mingus Mountain Pass above Jerome, and enter the Prescott Valley, to experience the truly magical rock formations of "the Dells" at Watson Lake before heading in to historic old town Prescott, Arizona's first capital city, back when Arizona was truly the 'wild wild west'.
That's the beauty of Cottonwood. Access to the best of the best that northern Arizona has to offer ~ for less!

First time visiting Arizona and this property and location did not disappoint!
We will definitely be booking in the future.

We enjoyed our stay it is in a quiet neighborhood close enough to downtown with a quick drive.

This was a nice hopping off point to day trips and hiking in Sedona. Clean and just right size for our group. We enjoyed the backyard patio for morning coffee, hot tubbing and movies each night. Hosts were responsive with any questions we had.

Highly recommend a stay at the cute and cozy. Let them know we were coming in late and they had the lights on for us!! Very clean, beds were so comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. Backyard had everything, a grill, hammock, propane fire pit, patio and a hot tub!! Great place if you want to be out of Sedona. Would definately rent again when we come down this way again!

First, the communication to and from the property owner/manager was excellent. The house is located about 20-25 minutes from Sedona so we did day trips each day to go on hikes and then came back for dinner and hot tub time and family games. The house is well laid out, though there is not a large dining table so we sat the grandkids at the counter and adults at the table. Everything worked fine and the WiFi was good. Beds were comfortable. The hot tub was clean and ready to go when we got there. We traveled in November so didn’t use the back yard but there is seating, a BBQ etc. The house is in a neighborhood, so the drive to buy groceries is 5-10 minutes. There were a couple of small things were didn’t find, a pizza cutter and a strainer for spaghetti noddles but there were enough dishes, cups etc for us. There is a washer and dryer but we didn’t need them. I would definitely book this house again.

Three generations of family (ages 23-79) and all of us loved the place-very clean and cool, nice neighborhood.
Cooked dinner, and the kitchen was well stocked, had everything we needed.
A little too warm to use the hot tub, but it was well maintained.

I feel as though the title says enough as to something no one ever wants in a vacation home. We stayed for two nights looking forward to a getaway for our anniversary and my birthday. The hot-tub is what intrigued us- it wasn’t necessarily a cheap stay so I feel as though the amenities should have been up to the price. The hammock had stings broken. Hot-tub had a strong chlorine smell (which I suppose at least it’s clean?) Cooking breakfast the first morning we discovered the pan we had just put butter in was dirty. Went to make coffee.. the coffee had less than a scoop left. Went to take a shower, the shampoo slipped through my hands. We all know what watered down soap feels like. Even the conditioner was watered down. All the hand soap. Thought for sure it couldn’t be the same in the guest bath. I was proven wrong again. I am not one to complain but I am one to know what my money is worth because I work very hard for it. Overall it was a disappointment and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. There’s much better places more worth your dollar.

Stayed here and went to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. It’s about a 15 minute drive to Sedona and 2 1/2 hour drive to the Grand Canyon.
Property was super clean, and looked just like the pictures. No issues with anything and would stay there again.

Overall, the house was what we expected. Nice hot tub, plenty of room and beds. A great centralized location for all the activities we wanted to do.
Some small items could be improved such as cleanliness upon arrival and the small amenities.

Immaculate and well appointed- our stay was perfect! Short drive to Sedona (we went four-wheeling) and the BEST restaurants were so close by (Nics Italian and Colt BBQ were both awesome!). The hot tub was AMAZING!! Hope we can come back to stay again with our kids.

The house was immaculate and very well stocked with anything you might need. We appreciated the layout of the bedrooms to accommodate 4 friends that didn't have to share a bed! It would be nice to have a mirror in the bedrooms! The owners were responsive to a problem we had and sent someone to fix it quickly. We couldn't figure out the Apple TV even with detailed instructions - not an issue as we played cards. The only negative had nothing to do with the house - the neighbors have dogs that barked almost the entire night. :( But, overall, a great place to stay!

This is a rental done right! The house was absolutely spotless upon our arrival. The beds were extremely comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The house was well stocked with bath towels, Kleenex, toiletries and kitchen supplies. The backyard was beautiful and the neighborhood was nice and quiet.

Cottonwood Wedding!!
All was good!! A very nice place. My only concern that I think needs attention is the blinds in the house.. They all need to be the wooden style like the ones above the kitchen sink! The half moon windows also need some type of covering!!

Wonderful home in Cottonwood!
We enjoyed our time at this home in Cottonwood. It was the perfect size for our family and we enjoyed the area. Quick drive to Jerome and Sedona made for a lot of travel options.

Nice Location, comfortable, big shade trees in back yard
Owner was extremely helpful in the booking, sending information and answering a couple questions once I arrived.
Kitchen was well equipped, everything very clean. Big shade trees in the back yard were very nice and the location was close to grocery stores, WalMart, and gas stations. Quiet location.

Great Location!
This house was a great place for us to call home base for a short weekend getaway from the hot Phoenix weather. We had 2 adults, 1 senior and 2 teenagers and the house was the perfect size for us. The kitchen and TV room is on the opposite end of the house from the bedrooms which was super convenient. Our girls were able to watch a movie and eat some midnight snacks without disturbing anyone.
There were plenty of towels, extra blankets and pillows. The backyard was large with a hammock in it that our kids spent hours in (I think they would have slept there if we let them). The washer and dryer were very convenient even though we didn't need them and the kitchen had plenty of plates and glasses for the one meal that we cooked at home. The beds were a little soft for our taste, but that is certainly a personal preference, and although soft, we slept well. It was much to warm for us to use the fireplace but I can imagine that it would be a great amenity during the cooler months.
The very best thing about this home is the location. It is in a very quiet neighborhood. You are just a couple of minutes from everything. Grocery store - 2 minutes, old town Cottonwood - 5 minutes and wineries in Cornville - 15 minutes away. And those estimates are from someone not terribly familiar with the area and with a husband that drives like an old man. 😀
I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, family vacation. We hope to stay again ourselves!

Cottonwood Stay
Home was very clean and had sufficient amenities; it was in good condition, but not in a great neighborhood. Use of TV very cumbersome due to 3 remotes required to access anything; very difficult to find regional broadcast TV stations.
Thermostat could have used instructional guide as well.
Except for sectional, furniture chairs, benches, and stools very uncomfortable.

Great place to stay
Our time here was lovely. The property was clean and had nice amenities (super comfy sheets). While we didn't use the giant bean bags, we are sure that kids would LOVE them. We had had everything we needed to explore the area.

Great Deal and Amazing Hosts
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay in Cottonwood. The house was clean and cozy. When we got there Friday night, the air conditioner was very noisy. First thing Saturday morning the host was there to change the filter and fix it. We greatly appreciated such prompt service and help. Jerome is a short drive away and a fascinating town to visit. Old town Cottonwood has great restaurants and shopping. We would definitely stay here again!!
