Proximity to the town with good choice of eating places although the hotel had a very nice restaurant which we ate in with lovely friendly staff.
Room and breakfast were excellent.
Only problem we had was finding our way round to the car park entrance as the road we needed was closed off on a Sunday. We could see it but sat nav was unable to work out how to get to it. We did eventually get to it and parking was perfect and secure.

The hotel is located on the main square in the center of the city. Even though it was just a one night stay as a break for the cross-country drive, everything we needed was within walking distance. My 10-years old boy stayed in a totally separate single-bed room with his own toilet and bathroom adjoining our double bed room with the same facilities.. So we had plenty of bathrooms and beds to use!
Brunch on Sunday morning was a delight. We chose the formula with a small bottle of champagne, which was very appropriate for the Champagne region!
The switch for the bathroom in room 114 was located on the door frame. It took me about 15 minutes to find it. I've never seen a switch on the door frame. Once I found it, it was no problem.

We stayed in the family room, more of a 2 bed apartment with living room, bath room and small kitchen with a micro, oven, fridge freezer and dish washer! Beds very comfy and place was full of charm.
Very noisy festival on unil midnight and staff were moving furniture around below us in a conference room at 11pm. We were shattered after a long drive and chose the wrong place to stay for a quiet night.

The bookable secure parking (shared with Ibis next door) was one reason for choosing this hotel. It has a stylish restaurant and public areas with really interesting decor and lighting. Very nice staff. Reasonably priced. Value for money was ok.
It is rare for me write a critical review, I prefer to say nothing, but on this occasion I have. The hotel badly needs some maintenance in the upstairs areas. The room was a bit tatty in places, net curtains partly detached, and one fell down when moved, the grab rail in the bath was loose. Access corridors are quite narrow and claustrophobic. Our room (105) overlooked the square and was directly above the loudspeaker playing bassy pop music to the terrace outside. This went on until 01:30 in the morning - sleep was impossible and a/c unit made so much gurgling noise that we had to turn it off.

centrally located and with secure parking
our room 212 interconnected with 211 so no soundproofing at all. you could hear everything.
Hotel nowhere near full so a shame they did the allocations that way.

Nothing.
It wasn’t made explicit on the website, but the apartment was located in a separate building on the opposite side of the main square, which was inconvenient.
The accommodation was filthy. Hairs were found in pillow cases and bedding, and some dubious white stains were on the bedding, which looked like semen. The ceiling and walls in the living room area were stained with peeling wallpaper. The apartment had a musty stale smell.
Even worse, the sound of pigeons could be heard from the upstairs apartment. The following morning I climbed the staircase to this apartment and found an open door to a derelict apartment that was full of pigeons, faeces and feathers. Feathers were coming into the stairwell of our apartment. This is a health hazard and the whole accommodation should be condemned. I have never stayed in such an unsanitary environment. It was disgusting. Opening the window to the rear showed an enormous build up of pigeon faeces on the windowsill downstairs. I am appalled that my family’s health has been compromised in this way.
The apartment was also dusty and hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time with a build up of dust on surfaces, making my family sneeze. The smaller bedroom smelled of urine.
Not all of the listed amenities was available - no kettle, no Netflix, no iron, no stocked mini fridge, for just a small example. I actually upgraded my booking to receive this accommodation.
The entrance to the apartment’s lobby was dirty and the stairwell was narrow and unsafe with one broken stair.
We complained to the receptionist (who I felt sorry for) and we were offered a free breakfast. We declined the offer as we worried about the cleanliness of the kitchen.
I will be complaining in the strongest terms to the manager and to the mayor of Chalons-en-Champagne as well as to the tourist board.

Clean, a little dated but effective for an overnight stop. Quiet.
Underground car park a bit difficult to find but very safe

Great location, spacious (ground floor) rooms, comfortable bed, easy secure parking on site, nice breakfast, helpful staff
The Wifi in our room was very patchy - little to no connection. The coffee facilities were a bit basic (for e.g no milk sachets), the toilet roll was a bit cheap.

I liked the modern style and location.
Being a family of 5, we booked 2 rooms and asked for adjacent rooms, but on arrival, the rooms were on opposite sides of the hotel. At least they were on the same floor.
Rooms were also quite poorly lit.

Comfy beds. Lots of space. Friendly staff. Secure parking underground.
No toaster, no adequate lighting in steep stairwell. Broken floor panel led to slipping over. Hot water was only warm. Spa was very limited and expensive.

like ‘Fawlty Towers’. Friendly staff always smiling while telling you that nothing is possible.
It’s called a Hotel and Spa but you are not allowed to use the Spa without booking in advance and paying extra and besides nobody uses it and the spa pool is turned off.

Well located in a lovely square with shops and cafes. The car park was easy to find and right outside rear entrance to the hotel. The town has some very old buildings and was very easy to walk around. We stayed on a stopover but will look to have a proper visit in due course.
