No full irish breakfast
There was only continental

It was such a peaceful comfortable place and the house was very well kept and interesting - you are left to your own devices to serve breakfast as you would at any hostel but it is above and beyond most hostels I'd say. Very comfortable beds, great showers - lots of room. The live traditional Thursday night music in the evening was amazing - we actually came to stay here because we knew it was on - and we weren't disappointed.
Nothing - it was fab.

Quirky, historical house. Just what I was expecting. Great bar. Most enjoyable stay
I liked everything

Good breakfast
Driveway in has lots of potholes

This is a old house but not just in style, which I would like, I mean in structure. We unfortunately had a room which definitely needs to be refurbished. With mold everywhere and an barely fixed broken bed. On our last morning we has been impacted by an serious water damage which makes it impossible to use the shower an toilet in our room.

Choice of meats, cheese, eggs, breads, juices, tea and coffee - it did the job
Snoring in the dorm - it comes with the territory of staying in a dorm

People and the ambience was great. They were very very helpful. Look out for Daisy, she will make your day.
There was no WiFi in the room for now, however, they are working on that.

great location
the pub onsite had great live trad music
I would stay again

Very warm welcome to a beautiful location. The music in the bar was brilliant. If you are looking somewhere to recharge this is the perfect place to do so! The island itself is beautiful and the accomodation was perfect!
If i was being picky we didn't like the key system and felt an old fashioned key and lock would be much handier as we had to use a device to get into the bathroom which wasn't handy when our daughter was ill in the middle of the night.

The house is very old and everything can be heard. The breakfast was almost non-existent

Our stay in Valley House was great, nice chill out place, quiet, comfortable & cool. Highly recommend it. The pub is a great addition, staff is very good and the breakfast surprisingly yummy. I would be back!! Thanks
Not very fan of the electronic system for keys...

A beautiful old house steeped in history. The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful. The little bar was cosy and the night of traditional Irish musicians is not to be missed; there’s some fabulous talent on Achill.
Unfortunately we arrived at the very beginning of the season and it felt a bit like entering Bleak House because we couldn’t find anyone and parts of the building seemed in disarray. Luckily our senses of humor prevailed with the help of an apologetic, helpful and accommodating owner. I’m sure that when the season is in full swing this little gem will be a place where memories will be made; Achill is a stunning place.

Breakfast was good, no hot breakfast because it was off season but the breakfast option was so good it made up for it
Nothing I disliked except where you park the car is very muddy & there was a party on so a lot of shouting and laughing late down in the kitchen which wouldn’t have bothered us if we weren’t with our son, and the family room is right at the top of the stairs

Fabulous old house full of character and charm in a stunning setting. Bed very comfy, hosts really nice, pub fab, breakfast a pleasant surprise. A great experience, we shall return. Thank you Pat and Dave xx

No en-suite bathroom.

Gorgeous guest house with excellent staff, delicious food and cosy pub.
The 7 digit code to get into the room and separate one for the bathroom was a pain especially after having a few drinks .

friendly staff, good vegan options at breakfast.

Very ancient and mysterious mansion, welcoming. Nice and clean room. Good breakfast and gentle personnel. Comfortable beds and clean sheets
Bathroom outside the room and key with pin ( too long)
The heather may work better: too cold when we arrived and too hot during the night
The position was quiet but there are very few places where to eat. After 7 pm everywhere is closed and the only option is a takeaway place at 20 minutes

Food in the restaurant was very good. Compared to other b&b's I would say the breakfast was quite basic. Rooms were comfortable. There was trad music on in the bar that night and the musicians were very good!
The ambiance of the place is a bit like a ghost house, which may or may not be your thing. The info on the wall regarding the place revealed that it probably is! The staff are friendly, but they seem to have to divide their attention between a lot of different tasks.

- Great, lively, cosy bar with live music until late
- free basic breakfast
- lovely remote location
- unusual house
- great stargazing! ✨

It literally looks like a castle inside. There's a pub attached to it which is great cause you meet people from the hostel and locals aswell. Beds were very nice and room was super spacious and ensuite(10bed). Location is amazing and you can do stuff walking or cycling from here.

Great food, great little bar, comfortable beds and really nice and friendly staff 👍
Very noisy after the bar closed. Myself and 10 year old woken up at 1am and kept awake for an hour. Bit of a strange smell in the bathroom

I liked the location of the hostel. I also liked the food there and I liked that there was loads of parking. The staff there were friendly.
The only thing I didn't like was that the dorm was a bit cold.

Lovely bar on site, friendly staff.

The dorm rooms were so comfy and clean. The vibe of the whole place feels very homey and comfortable, and surrounded by beauty. The staff was kind. It feels very safe. It’s a place where you can comfortably hangout. The kitchen was sufficient. The breakfast was one of the best hostel breakfast’s I’ve had.
They could use a cutting board and a couple additional dishes in the kitchen!

It is a quiet place.
