Very little! The location was good!
Everything!!! The rooms are run down and tired but more importantly were not clean upon arrival and it was difficult to get them cleaned during the week.
The management were on holiday and a skeleton staff covered (2 members of staff seemed to be doing everything!) We were told the chef couldn't do porridge, couldn't do omelette - and when we asked for cereal to be refilled we were told they had run out.
Half the service - but NOT half the price!!!!
This is Scottish hospitality at it's worst! Shocking!

Staff advised cooked breakfast not available at 8.45am, despite sign in reception saying 9am, which is still too early in my opinion. Stayed in the annex block which was shabby and room could not be locked from the outside. Staff member advised hotel was full, so couldn’t change rooms. Breakfast staff advised hotel was not full and rooms in the annex “were like visiting cell block h”… went to make toast at 8.50am and they had put the lights out, removed the break and taken the coffee away. Rooms were not clean, shabby decor. Expensive price for a poor hotel and staff not great attitude. I
Would not return nor recommend.

Location
Told us breakfast was on till 10 but didn’t tell us you had to order breakfast before 08.45 on the Monday and nothing in room to tell you meal times

The breakfast was good despite no vegetarian option, the scrambled eggs were perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful which was nice to see. The room I stayed in was a decent size.
The en-suite shower door had been replaced by a curtain, not ideal. My room was not serviced and although it is not the fault of the hotel the boy racers with loud exhausts were a noise nuisance. MAybe the hotel should liaise with the Elgin police to get them stopped.

Location was good
Checked in and was given the keys for room 16, climbed to the top floor, opened the door to find that someone was already occupying the room with empty beer bottles and clothes all over the floor. Back downstairs to a rather embarassed staff member, not as embarrassed as I would’ve been had the occupants been in the room when I walked in.
Then moved to room 17. The main bedroom was modern and clean. The bathroom looked looked it had a new shower enclosure fitted but had a very old electric shower unit in it. The bathroom walls and ceiling around the toilet and window area were cracked and crumbling.
Put off by the previous evening’s events and the condition of the bathroom, we skipped breakfast and went elsewhere to eat.
I always like to give honest reviews and thought that this was very over priced for what was on offer.

De bereidwilligheid goede service te leveren ondanks de niet helemaal bij-de-tijdse voorzieni gen.
De prijs.
De hoge prijs stond niet in verhouding tot het gebodene.
3.5
Good location near the centre with ample parking
1.5
The hotel was freezing cold
The breakfast/dining room was freezing
Hotel room was needing modernisation
3.5
Clearly newly decorated and clean, with all the essentials. Comfy, big bed, and decent shower.
Our room on the 2nd floor was very cold as the heating had been turned off, but the outside was only 6°C and it felt that on the inside too. When the heating did come on, it took the edge off the chill but was never warm enough to relax in.
Felt the hotel lacked the personal touches and care essential for a sense of value for money and being valued as a customer.

Everything was spot on the breakfast was great very clean aswell
Everything was perfect

Breakfast was one of the best we had, although would have liked to be offered more coffee
Bed was uncomfortable and no extra pillows available
Yes probably if we went to reception they probably would have provided them but wasn’t until 10.30pm we realised the issue
4.5
Lovely friendly staff who went out of their way to help out, special shout out to the lady who was serving breakfast, who realised I was going to be late, so set aside a setting for me!
Really much nothing really, loved the place!
4.5
Good food, nice staff. room large, clean and warm. breakfast was great. check in/out easy.
shower within the bathroom appears to have been designed for someone the same size and weight as a breadstick. The shower, once squeezed into, was either hotter than the surface of the sun, or colder than ice. Not great after a long day of work.

The property is full of character & has a cosy & warm feel to it.
The property could do with a health club/gym on site.
4.5
Definitely the staircase design
Nothing to be honest
3.5
Very helpful member of staff.
Plumbing issues (waste water from sink backlogging and coming up shower waste trap) hairdryer broken, shower regulator broken, one temperature only.

Nice staircase on entering the building. The king size bed in our room was clean and comfortable.
Not a nice atmosphere as soon as you enter the hotel. The very few staff we saw weren’t welcoming or friendly, only told us what we needed to know. We were in an attic room with a very small window, making the room very dark and claustrophobic. No pictures on the walls, no shelves or hooks to hang things on, hence everything was on the floor. The toilet leaked water from the back when you sat on the seat. Uncontrollable shower. Bedside lights didn’t work. Breakfast was very basic and very self service, cooked breakfast had one very tough sausage and one slice of black pudding which was raw in the middle.

Friendly helpful staff
Too many broken fixtures. Room not serviced for 2 days.

Friendly staff, good big room, great parking.
Just one hangar on the rail.

Breakfast was good and generous, and morning staff were very friendly
Breakfast would be usfeul if it started half an hour earlier for me, as needed to leave by 0830 and breakfast starts at 8am on a saturday.

Nice breakfast comfortable room.
Noise above us was very loud early in the morning.
3.5
The bed was so comfortable and great towels.
Room was up 2 flights of stairs and the second flight was narrow steps on a curve. Bar did not open till 5.

Nothing
At dinner, we were cramped at a table for 2 against the wall although the dining room was almost empty and other tables were dressed and available. We were refused a full breakfast because we were 5 minutes late and had to make do with steawberry yogurt and à Small pack of kids’cereals !

The staff apart from temporary manager were really nice
The room was in need of total upgrade asked to be moved but alternative room shower didn't work!
0.5
The breakfast was adequate but nothing special
Nicola the manager was very helpful,.unlike the other foreign manager
Misleading online photographs of the rooms. Our first room had.issues including a shower that did not work.
The second room we were moved to developed a water leak with water coming through the ceiling, and this had happened before with this room.
Hotel is tired and dated worn decor, and in need of significant investment.
Manager demanded payment up front and when we chose to walk out on day two, had significant issues in getting a full refund.
Personally, this Hotel and the other hotel owned in Elgin by the proprietors (The Mansion House) will leave people hugely disappointed and upset at the lack of value for money via your website

Plenty of parking available.
Staff were friendly and accommodating for any requests.
The rooms were in a separate building and a little outdated but otherwise comfortable enough.
Reception wasn’t very clear upon arrival

Convenient
The whole vibe. We had a family room and only 2 towels. The curtains were dreadfully hung and the shower didn’t work.

Upon arrival the room was not cleaned (dirty bedding, full bins, dirty towels). Thankfully the blonde woman on the front desk resolved this issue quickly however her male coworker was rude and dismissive.
I also had an accidental double booking which I was told would be resolved in the morning but I was then told by the man on the desk that it wasn't his problem and he wouldn't/couldn't so anything.
I can not recommend this BNB to anyone and strongly advise all to seak different accommodation.

Restaurant and bar excellent, good menu very nice food

Very clean and nicely decorated
As we only stayed one night on our way home there was nothing I didn’t like about the property. It was absolutely fine for our overnight stay .
4.0
Really friendly staff who worked extremely hard to make sure your stay was comfortable. Breakfast was good and we also had a meal in the restaurant which was also very nice.
Room was a little tired and could do with a makeover but it was still comfortable and clean so not really complaining and this was made up for by the staff and the food.
3.5
The bed was really comfortable and breakfast was beautiful
Shower wasn’t the best not much room very run down in bathroom tape wouldnt turn off did report it nowt was done about it
